Tony Todd Gripes to TMZ About Footing The Bill For His Own Grub at Y&R!

The Young and the Restless guest star Tony Todd has plenty of nice things to say about the show and the genre, however he isn't too happy about having to pay for his own food! TMZ  has a video of Todd, who will be playing Leslie (Angell Conwell) and Tyler's (Redaric Williams) jailbird dad, griping about having to pay for his own meals on the set of the CBS sudser.Watch the clip after the jump!

He's a film actor. Most films cater all meals. Welcome to daytime budgets, Mr. Todd.

Wait for it...

"The role previously played by Tony Todd is now being played by Some Other Guy..."

He should be thankful to have a job!!! He could be in the unemployment line with HUNDREDS of other actors his age in Hollyweird.

People are struggling in this country, and it always amazes me when those who are privileged enough to not have to struggle complain about the most mundane things!!

Ha! Love the first three posts, and can't wait to see what others have to say. He's lucky he's got the "part".

He must have a really bad agent. How could he not know about details like that?

He's using the long arm of CBS to think to draw attention...how it will bite back Wink

I didn't see it as a big deal. I think the guy interviewing made it more of a deal than Tony Todd did. He was just talking, and it wasn't really that much of a complaint, moreso just kind of jokingly answering the question, at least thats how it seemed to me...but I could be wrong.

Plus, I still like his optimism about the role, and the characters, and the show overall in general.

A lot of soaps got rid of craft services to trim the budgets. Since he is not a long term contract part (to my knowledge), I guess the show is only paying his fee and nothing extra.

Still sucks that they won't even spring for lunch, lol.

Yes, because well-regarded, well-known, always busy Tony Todd is so not in demand:

TBA - Monster School (in production)

2013 - A Man with a Gun

2013 - Crimson Saints

2013 - II Driven

2013 - Captured Hearts

2013 - The Witching Hour

2013 - Night of the Living Dead: Origins 3D

2013 Disciples

(from IMDB)

He's probably just itching to be a Wal-Mart greeter at this stage of his career.

Sigh. JBJ, the poster you supposedly "sorted out" with your comment has a point even if TT has lots of work, so you're both wrong and tiresome at the same time. Please turn it down to 11, and try to avoid using a backhoe when a spade will do.

I didn't think it was a big deal. He was asked a question and he answered it. Very insignificant to us but obviously a big deal for him. Whatever. He didn't bash the genre. I'm guessing he sees it as a different challenge in his career. I'm looking forward to it.

He's right! I just realized that, after all these years, my job doesn't buy me lunch either! We need to stand up against these workplace horrors.

He's a great actor but he's no Beverly McKinsey to be demanding meals on a soap opera set. Soaps are another monster from film.

Twenty bucks says JFP has her pet Steve Burton eating like a KING and that's where the food budget is going. Steve Kendall (sp?) posted a pic on Twitter about a month ago of a cast meeting. King Burton had a three course meal in front of him and everyone else had WATER.

You are one tired, bitter ass hypocrite. You seem to be adrift since Wayland Flowers passed on. All those Logo reality pilots but not one green light. How sad for you.

How is that for turning it down?

FYI, Alston and I have gone back & forth on here for years but we also are fairly good FB/Twitter friends; he gets me and me him. So, Madame...you need to swerve.

Now back to ignoring you and to our program, already in progress...

JBJ, the hypocrite thing is totally random and not based in any behavior I've exhibited on this site. I must have hurt your wittle feewings. Truth hurts, but Lord knows you needed to hear it. I'll tell you again next time, too, until you understand. Have a great night!

Out, out, Queen Bishbay! Your "highness" is but a walking shadow; thou art but a poor player that struts and frets thy hour upon the stage and then is heard no more: yours is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury...signifying nothing.
