The View Calls Elisabeth Hasselbeck a "Valued Member", Cites "Long-Term Contract"

Us Weekly isn't the only infotainment organization hearing Elisabeth Hasselbeck is being axed at The View. Media Bistro's TV Newser blog is citing two sources claiming the reality-star-turned-conservative-talking-head is out.

Of course, this wouldn't be an ABC Daytime story without citing a contract as a way to deny shocking, behind-the-scenes goings-on. Said a Mouse House spokesperson to TV Newser:

“Elisabeth Hasselbeck is a valued member of ‘The View’ and has a long term contract.”

Lizzie might wanna ask Frank Valentini and Ron Carlivati just how valid their long term contracts with One Life to Live were during that final cycle.

Couldn't they find some moderates. Ya know people who have centrist beliefs or have some liberal and some conservative leanings. Ya know like most people do.

That would actually be Barbara, who tends to lean middle of the road conservative, especially on law & order and some fiscal matters (see her enthusiastic support for Michael Bloomberg, for example). On social matters she tends to be more liberal leaning.

Sherri is socially/religious conservative; political liberal.

Joy & Whoopi are liberal.

Moderates equal viewership/hitship suicide. Unfortunately, now that we're gearing our news and infotainment toward the "hits" on news stories, nobody wants to read the latest from the Persian Gulf, compared to the latest tidbits from Lindsay Lohan and Chris Brown & Rihanna. The "mainstream" web-media is feeding us what we're hittin' on. It's an ugly reality (for ALL of us to think about), but it's true.

When EH DOES go, would like to see Ali Wemtworth & Megan McCain. I am sure the denial today was for saving face. She will announce she is leaving by May 15th.
I want the panel to stay balanced, and hopefully they will get someone who is more informed than Elisabeth.

Elisabeth is plenty informed. She really gets a bad rap from ill-informed people on the internet.

I like Sherry, too.

And as far as food stamps go. Cutting food stamps is the last thing this country needs.
