The story is being told with class and dignity. Melody will certainly play it beautifully. Congratulations to all involved. I know two men who have the disease and it is terrible what it has done to them. Yet a childhood friend of mine has it and he is well and even coaches high school football.

I have to hand it to the show for the presentation of the disease. I think that Melody Thomas is doing a tremendous job.

I wish... even for a short stint and in honor of the show's upcoming 40th anniversary and since Nikki mentioned her to Jack... that Casey, her sister and a doctor, was brought back to not only be there as a source of support for her sister but also to help inform the public that there is life WITH MS.

Also, seeing that the world is WIRED, I was surprised that Nick and Vicki went their separate ways and just didn't grab a computer to check on the disease as I did when my father was diagnosed not with MS but pulmonary fibrosis to understand the disease more than he willingly explained to me.

Just to be sure, this is not a criticism of the show or the presentation of the disease but more of a want, desire and hope that they show would not only bring back Nikki's sister and celebrate the show's history but also to show that Casey is still alive and well. And that Nikki's kids thought of more than themselves.

Here's hoping the disease is continued to be told correctly and with heart.

I am liking it so far. Melody Scott is doing a great job telling the slow story of the disease. And the fact that someone in GC has the sickness, shows how prevalent in our society.

Not sure about all of the kudos to Bill Bell. Bell sometimes did not have the courage to tackle disorders and ailments head on. Scott Grainger, Cricket's brother, died on that island on Catalina, in the arms of Lauren in 1993, on a cross-over segment of the B&B, without his disease or disorder ever being revealed or discussed. Diagnosed in the early Summer, passed away by early Fall.

It was a very strange and unusual passing of such a pivotal character on the canvas. Especially since the character of his mother, Jessica, had been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS a few years before, and had passed away quickly, after marrying John Abbott. Bell's reason -- he had said that if a person had an incurable disease, he did not want that person to give up hope, especially since Scott had died so quickly. Sadly, we know that kind of thinking can be a trap.

So Bill Bell was only human, just like the rest of us.

I hope they don't gloss over the seriousness of this disease. My mother had MS and was totally paralyzed within 5 years and spent the last 10 years of her life in a hospital bed. They need to point out all aspects of MS. This is one story I will be paying attention to.

True to that Jorpa. My dad's 3rd wife died of the disorder. Sad, she really suffered.

My heart aches for Jack Osbourne and everyone who is suffering from MS.

My dad currently has lived with it for about 31 years. He went from doing his favorite remodeling and projects around the house to being confined to,a wheel chair.

Ironically he started watching Y and R in the late 80's when he came down with it. He had always criticized "those shows" as only being watched by old women and housewives, but got hooked in the Jabot/Newman John/victor battles of the day since he was an Executive VP before it forced him to retire.

He hasn't watched lately but I bet he'll tune in to watch MTS portray this. He also loved Nikki!

I'm loving this story and its beginnings. It's so heartfelt and has the whole family dynamic to pull the whole Newman family together instead of apart and could create some healing.

MTS you know will rock this story and this will be a great story for Victor\EB to play. I think we will see a more emotional side of Victor privately w\fans how this is actually affecting him.

I like how she told Jack that there are different levels, I believe she said, to the disease. She said they think her's will be one in which she will not suffer the horrifying paralysis. I think we will see her struggle with it and be able to continue normally with a few relapses now and then.

I had forgotten about the mysterious illness of Scott Grainger. I remember thinking at the time, "What the hell did he die from?" Give us a damned diagnosis!

Was Christine's mother Scott's mother? I thought they just shared a father? Love that story line and the HIV/AIDS with John and Christine's mom. I also loved Scott.
