Roger Howarth to Help Relaunch One Life to Live Before RETURNING to General Hospital!
Boy-oh-boy, people sure are putting a lot of erroneous information out there! After a soap site ran an "exclusive" report about Roger Howarth "leaving General Hospital and heading back to One Life to Live", I did some digging and learned that Howarth was in fact only going over to Prospect Park's relaunch of OLTL for four weeks, after which time he will return to GH.
"He's only going over to Connecticut for a short period of time, " says an insider. "Roger loves GH and he loves working with Laura Wright."
Speaking of Wright, the actress who plays Carly Corinthos-Jacks opposite Howarth's Todd Manning in a front burner story on GH, had already tweeted that the actor and co-stars Michael Easton (McBain) and Kristen Alderson (Starr) would be returning to GH after a "few weeks" away.
This all comes after my initial report on Feb. 1, where I first revealed Howarth, Easton and Alderson would be leaving GH — at least temporarily. I also revealed in the same report that there were on-going talks about the characters and actors returning to GH, after helping to relaunch OLTL.
From that report:
"Prospect Park realizes these three characters could initially help draw fans to the new One Life," explains a source. "There are ongoing talks between ABC and Prospect Park about the characters returning to General Hospital at some point, which could be fine with [Prospect Park] as they eventually want to go much younger with their soaps."
There is no word on whether Alderson or Easton will follow Howarth back to Llanview temporarily.

I figured this is exactly what would happen. And it really is the best solution for both parties involved and, moreover, the FANS. I love Roger on GH now, and I want him to stay there.

Oh and I forgot to add another ideal scenario would be for Prospect Park to snag Trevor St. John to do OLTL online so that way BOTH shows would have their own "Todd" in a way...

Sounds like ABC/Disney struck a deal with Prospect Park. Disney was going to give Prospect Park exactly what they wanted and it seems like they have. The news of Roger Howarth is only the beginning of a long line of upcoming crossovers which will include Michael Easton and Kristen Alderson.

One thing about that really worries me:
Bringing on useless younger characters played by untalented actors is was killed these soaps in the first place. Prospect Park may want to rethink that if they expect the new versions of the soaps to survive.

I just want to know what the end game will be. If the characters return to GH, does that mean that PP will sell the rights to those characters back to ABC? Or will PP retain the rights?

Point it out. I revealed Susan Lucci and all of ABC Daytime would be taking massive paycuts. SON denied my report, as did most of the other soap blogs, sites. Agnes Nixon revealed she and Lucci's cuts to Ad Age days after my report.
I reported All My Children was moving to Los Angeles. SON and countless others ran ABC spin denying it.
I reported Howarth, Alderson and Easton were being legally forced off the set of GH, at least temporarily, and they were.
Forget "let's not pretend otherwise", you show me where my reporting about the behind-the-scenes going on at ABC Daytime has been off the mark.
When I reported about what was holding Vincent Irizarry up in negotiations for PP's first stab at rebooting AMC, SON ran a report shading what I reported. Vincent Irizarry himself went on Twitter, tweeting @ me to tell everyone I was right in what I said. So yeah...

I am so happy!!! How perfect that Roger will help launch OLTL then return to GH. I just love him on GH, he makes me laugh and I think he and Laura Wright really like working together. If OLTL was smart they would do everything they can to get Trevor St. John back. They need a Manning on the show for Blair, Tea, & Jack and he was so good in the role as Todd for all those years before Roger returned. Wonder what will happen with John McBain and Starr???

Yes, maybe Trevor St John will come back at least to clear up the Victor being alive story.

I am glad they worked this out with Roger. They need to either find a way to lure Trevor St.John back to NuOLTL or move on and recast the role. They need to finish the Victor/Todd storyline and a four week arc would be able to do that. Let Todd clear his name in Llanview, hell let him find Victor and redeem himself in Llanview and Port Charles. Once Victor is declared alive, let Tea and Blaire fight out Victor and Todd slither out of Llanview back to his Carly in Port Charles. Also, the four week run should end with Todd walking Viki down the isle to marry Clint.
As far as John is concerned. They need to do the same thing with this storyline or Prospect Park needs to loan GH Natalie to wrap up John's storyline with Liam. Then send him back to PC to heat up my screen with Sam. BTW - does Prospect Park even have a Natalie/Melissa Archer ready to go? If not shame on you Prospect Park, John McBain/Michael Easton isn't needed.
In terms of Starr/Kristen - um Prospect Park watched the OLTL finale right? They know that baby left for LA before coming back to the east coast right? Bring her over for the Victor/Todd stuff and send her back to Michael, who should be getting involved with Serena Baldwin (that's her name right GH fans) while Starr is away. And then let Starr come back as needed to see her momma Blair!
Prospect Park/GH - This is not rocket science!

I am glad this will happen....I hope Todd, Starr, and McBain will go back to GH once they help relaunch the new OLTL. I wish they could stay at OLTL, but there's really not much there for them...Starr doesn't have much without Hope and Cole, it feels as though McBain will never get Natalie back (which is a shame, cause it took FOREVER for them to get back together!) plus apparently the Buchannan's hate him, and Todd, I don't know, I think I like him on GH, but a part of me wants him back where he belongs on OLTL...PLUS, how can the writers get Todd free from prison? Seriously, he is wanted for multiple crimes right now...I really wanna see how they write him out of this corner!

I don't recall seeing anything about Melissa Archer signing up with or being contacted by PP. Has anyone heard anything?

This is good. The ideal deal to be made really.
Hopefully it will go in a similar fashion, or one that in some way is beneficial to all parties involved.

Here's a list I copied of the actors signing back on, including Melissa Archer. The only one missing that stands out to me is Bree Williamson (Jessica)
"Included for the relaunch are Erika Slezak (Victoria Lord Buchanan), Robin Strasser (Dorian Lord), Tuc Watkins (David Vickers), Robert S. Woods (Bo Buchanan), Kassie DePaiva (Blair Cramer), Jerry ver Dorn (Clint Buchanan), Florencia Lozano (Téa Delgado), Melissa Archer (Natalie Buchanan Banks), Hillary B. Smith (Nora Buchanan), Kelley Missal (Danielle Manning), Josh Kelly (Cutter Wentworth), and Andrew Trischitta (Jack Manning)"
Not very happy about the last one on the list.

This is really the only way to go. RH and KA and ME are the original actors in the roles, people would not be happy with recasts. But if you forced off GH, they'd never go to PP. This gives some flexibility. Have Todd, Starr and John pop into Llanview when necessary, maybe even Alexis or someone else could go. Then who knows? Maybe Viki could make an appearance in Port Charles.

So I guess this also means that OLTL will not be doing a fast-forward like AMC. That can get real messy when you're trying to keep ties to another show. Remember when Bobby "died" on KNOTS LANDING?

Good! Those three characters should be on GH, they will be on OLTL to help kick it off and bring in viewers.
And I agree that Trevor St. John should be lured back as Victor Jr. And then bring Tea back for him!

Mfarris70 - If you are referring to Bobby Ewing, he "died" on Dallas not Knots Landing.

They referenced Bobby's death on Knots Landing. Gary even did a crossover to Dallas for the funeral. Viewers saw Gary get the news about Bobby from Miss Ellie by phone on Knots Landing. Valenine even named the twins Bobby and Betsy to honor the memory of Bobby.
This was also the last time Dallas was ever mentioned on Knots Landing. The producers of KL stated in an interview that according to them Bobby was still dead on KL even after the dream season on Dallas.

I think bad soap writing is what killed the soaps and interference by one named Frons. At one time, the heavy hitters in soaps were young unknown talent. I wil watch young people stories if they are well written!
I am glad RH will be doing both shows, exactly what I believed all along.

I am sure there will be an announcement on Michael and Kristin as well.
This is the best solution for all involved, PP gets them for a month to wrap up storylines: the Victor stuff and John and Natalie. And they get to go back to GH.
I figured Laura would not have tweeted what she tweeted, if she didn't know the two sides had came to an agreement.
Announcement coming soon.
