Michael E. Knight on Joining All My Children Re-Launch: "I Can't Do It Right Now"

Will Dixie (Cady McClain) be living the single life in Pine Valley when All My Children returns? Soap Opera Digest caught up Michael E. Knight (Tad) who said this about his status with the continuation:
With me, personally, it was simply an issue of timing, period. I consider [Executive Producer] Ginger Smith to be, actually, one of my oldest and dearest friends, in that industry and in life. And I had asked her for patience with me because as I like to put it, I didn't say no, I just said, 'I can't do it right now.' I love the fact that the interest is there and I firmly believe Tad is going to be walking through Pine Valley in short order at some point.
Here's hoping Tad "the Cad" will join Dixie in the near future.

I hope he takes all the time he needs and then returns strong. Would love seeing Tad back in PV!

Well I look like Michael E. Knight, can I just fill in for him until he can take back the part?

I'm not sure about this new version of AMC, without Erica and Tad it just won't seem like Pine Valley. The new OLTL is in much better shape since they have most of the cast still intact.

Nothing against Susan Lucci...but you can do ALL MY CHILDREN without Erica. Seriously you can. I always felt Erica never evolved and under some regimes was ruined. You can only be a scared little girl in search of love for so long and then you need to start acting like an adult and choose a partner and deal with real life events. If anything shooting Erica would be a mercy killing for the character and the actress.

I'm loving AMC on TOLN! What would make it perfect is if Michael E. Knight could return. I know that's asking a lot--ABC really jerked around these actors who had to pull up stakes and move to CA. I see they are leaving the door open for Tad to return. I'll cross my fingers that it all works out for Michael, and he can do AMC and other projects as well. Wish there was a place for Scott and Madison, but I can see that there probably aren't enough other family connections to make that work.
