The dialog on the show is really generic and makes the scenes very difficult to watch.

I hate to bash the show, because it's doing more right than wrong, but the dialog is just not working for me right now. The Avery and Dylan stuff is like watching a commercial for coffee.

I agree with you on this one. I know that most of the posters here, seem to adore STEVE BURTON, but I keep waiting to be impressed and am just not getting there. I find him very dull. His acting is almost as bad as the awful Adriana, Chavez and Noah storyline.

I have to agree. Steve Burton is rather boring to watch, but I feel like it's still the horrible dialog. He already has a pretty bland delivery and acting style, but the lines make it worse. It's hard to even stay with the scenes!

Adriana...ugh, She reminds me of Gabi(Camila Banus) from Days. Horrible character IMO. Y&R needs new writers. Not plot writers, but people who can write livelier lines and scene pacing!

I find the dialogue to be very intelligent and real to life. Avery's scenes with Dylan have been spot on. They are at a loss of what to say to each other. The show is on fire.

I think that JFP should make Dylan a military 'villain' or a mobster, or something like that. He is definitely a one-trick pony when it comes to his acting ability.

Good to see Katherine and Neil together again. Time for Neil to head back to Chancellor with Leslie in tow. Leave the Goof Troop behind (Cane, Lil, Tyler) to 'set the world on fire' with the House of Jabot fashion line (a little to B&Bish for me).

With all the Burton hype, I was expecting more than the return of Jason in GC. I felt the scenes he's had revealing to Avery that he's Dylan has really been Jessica Collins' shine time. He just looked to be standing there staring and very little emotion shown...LOL. So I know SB's addition is more about him being eye candy, b/c he's NOT a strong actor. Then he had the nerve to have on that typical black T-shirt he wore eveyday in Port Charles.SMH!!!!

Looks like JFP is setting the scene to put Jeanne Cooper/Katherine out to pasture. No surprise there. She probably wants to free up more airtime for Avery.

Avery, trying to shed a tear was rather hilarious. Fenn bbeing hauled off was great. It was time. So we can move on from this. Jack and his dope dealer, let it go. Yes, addiction is long term but Jack is too strong for this. I just hope he doesn't go through the trash can and find the drugs. I love the show and seeing people getting back to business. Kay having dementia is a good storyline but I just hope it doesn't go as far as her having full blown alzheimers. I love having Katherine on the show and if they do this to her it will not go over well in real life behind the scenes I'm sure.

All this negativity will not keep me from watching "Y & R" - I am really enjoying the stories for the most part (the Kevin/Chloe nonsense is annoying), the Fen/Jamie/bullying story being a real standout at this time.

As long as the farcical nonsense and delibarate plagiarism of the Maria Arena Bell era is gone, I am thrilled!! Back to good old character-driven story!!

well an alzheimer's storyline is always a good thing ( from a societal standpoint) , so long as they really develop it over the long term not just open it up and let it drop as they for Dr. Doug on ATWT- I liked that storyline a lot but as i remember they didn't resolve it or follow it along as I recall - probably budget/time restrictions since they wrapping up the show or were about to do so ... I miss ATWT ! the acting and writing were so much .... were so good. GH is the only show that compares now it seems . The Cali. style of soaps is so different from NYC... ( FV + RC have brought some it to GH no doubt)

I really hope they don't get rid of Kay Chancellor. I would rather see the new dude from Avery's past go, at least Kay can act. We have so many non talented people on the show now and some terrible story lines. Kevin and Chloe and the money story, along with anyone involved in that farce should be sidelined. My 6 year old great grandson could write better stories for this group.

Katherine Chacellor isn't going anywhere. First, CBS or Sony won't let that happen but JC had request a lighter schedule so we won't see her as often.

I don't think she'll be officially let go, but I don't imagine us seeing her very often. Hope I'm wrong.

Todays show was GREAT!!! But of course the Y&R haters will jump on any piece of negativity they can scrounge up. Ignore them. I do. Y&R is #1....

In the preview I saw today (as expected) Victor will be messing with Sharon's meds. This is the most disturbingly despicable things he or anyone in Genoa City could even think of doing. If all comes to pass then surely this should be the crime to finally shrivel The Great Teflon Bratwurst.

Tracey Bregman was certainly front and center today!! And the scenes with Lauren and Phyllis were great, the scene with Kay and Lauren was great, and the scene with Jack and Phyllis ( with the perfume sample ) was smoking hot!!

I can see him naming the fragrance after her... Simply Red; FireCrotch; Red Hot Lover; something along that line.

The show does have a bad moment here and there, but these people are acting their asses off..... they may have forgotten how to act during the MAB tenure, but they are doing great now!!

Aight...so Y&R doesn't need no writers. Y&R HAS new writers. After all the complaints of LML, we got MAB. After all the complaints of MAB, we get JG and JFP. As old girl said in The Women of Brewster Place, this is IT. This is the END OF THE LINE.

The show's storylines for the most part are a million times better. The Dialogue is sharper than its been in years. The actors are invested in their characters again...and most longtime viewers are invested as well.

Good lord....for some people, Y&R will never be good. Nothing but negativity? #ANNOYING

I'd be much better if they could include Jill. All my favorite Katherine Chancellor moments & stories were with Jill. After being starved of their relationship for over 3 years under MAB I was expecting more from the new regime when they announced JW was returning.

I hear JW is taping now but I hope it produces an actual story. It was very disappointing to see Jill being isolated with Tucker that had nothing to do with her life. She was unaware of Billy, Jack, Jabot, Lauren, and everything that made her Jill. Jill's only conversations with Kay were about her health and Tucker/Devon. SNOOZE zzzzzzzzzz

Jill has always had he romances and her never ending ambition in the business world to keep her interesting without Kay. But Kay's stories without Jill, w/Kevin, yelling at God as the town matriarch have never been that interesting to me. And despite what they have written the last couple years - KAY CHANCELLOR has not been a lifelong business woman!!!

I don't think Victor messing with Sharon's meds is out of character at this point. The fatherly feelings he had for her are dead and buried. Besides, the late, great Bill Bell did have the man feed a dude rats.
