Fen Takes Michael to the Woodshed Over His Past Crimes on The Young and the Restless
Practically everyone in Genoa City was at the opening of Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) new club, Underground, except Michael (Christian LeBlanc), Lauren (Tracey Bregman) and Victor (Eric Braeden).
The Baldwin parents were at home, worried about Fen (Max Ehrich). Michael and Lauren engaged in a shouting match. Michael said he didn’t want Fen to become him. Lauren shot back that Fen wasn’t capable of becoming his father. Lauren, Lauren, you are delusional. Fen returned home and his conversation with Michael quickly went downhill.
Michael told his son if Jamie (Daniel Polo) filed a complaint, his department would have to investigate. He insisted that if the evidence found Fen had been involved in Jamie's fall, he could end up in jail. Fen didn’t seem to believe his father’s worry. Fen asked if his dad would put his full name on the arrest warrant, or if Michael would try to distance himself from his son. Fen soon cut to the quick by saying he’d learned on the Internet Michael had went to prison for trying to rape Cricket (Lauralee Bell).
Christian LeBlanc hit it out of the park when he had to portray Michael’s regret over his past actions, and desires to prevent Fen from going down the same path.
At Underground, Dylan (Steve Burton) told Avery (Jessica Collins) he came back for her. Shaken, Avery wasn’t sure how to respond. Neil (Kristoff St. John) and Leslie (Angell Conwell) both toasted to the club’s opening success. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) informed Nick and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) she postponed the wedding.
Meanwhile at his penthouse, Victor received a report from his detective about the trial Congressman Wheeler (Mark Pinter) seems so interested in. When Nikki returned home, Victor expressed his desire to get married that night. She told him she wanted to wait until the house was finished being rebuilt.
After Nikki went upstairs, Victoria arrived at the penthouse and started discussing her plot with Victor to take back Newman.
Leslie and Tyler (Redaric Williams) scrambled to try and find out information from Avery about the legal case that has Congressman Wheeler so worried.

I think that the story of Michael, Lauren and Fen with the involvement of Paul, Jamie and Summer is fantastic. The acting across the board has been spot on which is rare on daytime where veteran actors and newbies convey the angry, frustration and fear that would go along with this story with such real emotion that it is true great drama!
I do sense something is coming up from the previews, though, that is going to make me and many fans PISSED OFF that the writers have chosen such a blatant path to creating a wedge in Michael and Lauren's marriage and making Fen more angry with his father. In a preview for tomorrow, Lauren emotionally screams at Michael that he wants to arrest their son for what Jamie is saying Fen did to him. If Fen has to be arrested for this story to continue, then arrest him but Michael should step down as DA and be at his son's side when he is being brought into the police station NOT only as his father but as his lawyer.
If the writers keep him in the job as DA as his son is being prosecuted then they will have ruined the relationship all the fans have seen develop over the months and weeks between Michael and Fen and that any affair that Lauren eventually has with Carmine will be more than justified and Lauren should walk out on her husband... FOR GOOD.
The Kevin and Chloe in need of cash story to pay off their mortgage has just reached a DULL and get over it POINT for me! Kevin should approach his mother and either ask her to sell the house before it's too late, allow it to fall into foreclosure or do a short sell on it. The fact that all of his solutions are illegal and dumb just prove to me that out of all the second chances Kevin gets he has not learned from his past mistakes. His list of illegal doings go all the way back to having sex with Lily while she was underage and giving her an STD. Remember he was well over 23 at the time. With his mother worth 7 million, his brother married to a multi-millionaire, his mother-in-law most likely sitting on a pretty penny from years of devoted work to Katherine, and Katherine a billionaire there are many begging ways for them to keep the house OR even more places to move to after losing the place.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the performance of Jessica Collins over the last two days with her portrayal of Avery upon seeing Dylan/Mac. It was heart breaking. And am impressed by the fact the writers opted to have Avery reveal to Nick SOONER rather than much later that her lover from Chicago is alive.
Y&R is hitting it out of the park with so many stories but has hit the snooze button on a few. Jack's sobriety is a blessing but since his rehab in the cabin they have missed the dramatic pay-off with his revenge against Victor. This is a soap opera so don't tell me that Jack can't go after Victor after he completed a few days of rehab in his family's cabin in the woods with Phyllis as his therapist! We all know real rehab deals with WHY you took the drugs in the first place AND not just getting them out of your system so if we are to believe that is 'rehab' then I can believe that Jack just gave Newman away but then I can believe even more that he turns to Adam and they plot to complete their revenge on Victor. It would be great fun for Jack to discover that Mason is working for Victor and he is the one to crush Sarge's nephew and use it against Victor. (Sorry, one more writing team is changing the WAR against Victor and making it with someone other than Jack)
The gang of 6 heading up the fashion division of Jabot is even more of a snore than I expected. Neil has no fashion background. Devon still wear white FRUIT OF THE LOOM t-shirts under an oversized suit blazer. Cane dresses off the rack from Banana Republic. Tyler thinks he's god's gift to anything but dresses less HIP and more slop. Leslie is all suits and Lily has shown that all she really knows how to dress is in really short tight skirts. NOT one of them has a fashion background and a new character... a CREATIVE DIRECTOR... should have been brought in to decide on what is truly fashion. Billy and Cane looking at Chelsea's designs and saying WOW is like me looking at a nuclear physics equation and saying "I agree with your conclusion"... I'm just saying it BUT have no idea what I am looking at!
The Tyler and Leslie story is not exciting for me because NO MATTER what, I don't really know or care about these characters yet. I have loved the Leslie character from the first moment on the show but that was only because she was tough. Now she is running scared and allowing Neil to talk to her like she is a simpleton in love. Tyler is ridiculous with his lady's man bravado and now his 'scared to be in tight places' phobia. We need to know more about them personally. Tyler needs a woman faster than he needs to break up Lily and Cane.
DO NOT HAVE CHELSEA BREAK UP LILY AND CANE BY FALLING INTO BED WITH HIM. As much as I dislike Cane, Chelsea has at least shown that Adam "cheating on her" with Sharon would NEvER BE PART of her game plan. Get her with Chavez to soe her oats after Adam. Give her Cane as a friend and boarden Chelsea's appeal on the show by making her and Lily friends too. This can be a compelling story with Chelsea noticing Tyler's game and letting Lily in on it. We can still have dramatic pay-off without the WRITTEN IN THE BACKROOM easy solutions to drama.

All the whispering between Tyler and Leslie is enough, get the story moving already.
The chipmunk and everything surrounding that bag o money needs to go now.
Now, they have Chloe, Chelsea and Glo working together, they should throw this detective Chavez in between Chloe and Chelsea.
Victurd is despicable for having Sharon's meds taken away, somebody needs to the same to his heart rejections meds.

No they shouldn't break up Lane this way it would make Chelsea no better than anyone on this show, and she showed Adam the door and he didn't even "officially" cheat like all the other turds on this show would have already done the deed and be sneaking around behind her back.
If they aren't going to break up Lane I will miss all the commentary from CoffeeJunkie busting on the Lane fan base losing their collective minds.

I am loving the show too. I think the bullying sl is the best one. I am a teacher of high school kids and hear the stories so often. I only hope that they don't have Jamie lying and make the victim in this be Fen.
I have to preface that I have NEVER liked Kevin's character. I feel that he is not a needed face in GC. I use to like Chloe but now that she is tangled up with "Chipmunk", I cannot stand her anymore.
I do not mind the fashion portion of the show because it is so new. It needs time to develop. I too do not want Chelsea in bed with Cane. I really like her. I have always been a fan of Lane so I want them to survive.
Leslie and Tyler are great. I am on the edge of my seat waiting to see their connection to Wheeler. I wonder if HE didn't kill their mother and Tyler saw it happen. I think she and Neil have smoking chemistry together. (Drucilla who?)!
Loving that the businesses are front and center again. I am a little peeved that we haven't seen much of Katherine lately. Where the hell is Jill? I know that she is on today's episode, but bring that woman to the center. If Wheeler didn't kill their mother, then land him on Jill. If we can land a man on the moon, we can land one on Jill!!

Tuesday episode was blah...but man!
Wednesday hit it out of the ball park! Everything was in flow mode again where Tuesday's was slightly uneven.
Wednesday Avery...I just fell in love with her even more when she slapped the face off of SB. She did a fantastic job with no history...(but I do hate force flashbacks which was). Keeping open minded because Dylan & Avery was good with first impression to see any amount of chemistry...I think it's there between actors.
So enjoyed Nikki that day w\Victoria...those little beats are so important to longtime viewers. Having a Mother\Daughter visit and talking. Nikki has had the same type of scenes with Nick. Nikki\Victor had my heart...best scene between those two in eons. So Victor & Nikki and this new story for Nikki...PERFECT! All the family connections had good scenes with family connections and that's where is a big change from previous regime...that's is Bill's touch and Josh is very aware.
Imitation is the best form of flattery! If Josh can mimic Bill Bell's style and "steal" Bill's writing style to a 75% I'm a happy camper. He's doing it.

Max Ehrich is highly deserving of an Emmy over this one. He is hitting it out of the park. The clenched jaw, the manipulation of his father, the shadowy way he won't address the events on the roof. His rejection of Summer.
Who'd have thunk? After years of abuse at the hands of MAB and LML, Tracey B and CLB are clicking on all cylinders.

Thanks, harlee490. The big difference between Josh G/JFP and two-job-hog MAB, was that MAB brought out the great acting in Ricky (Pete Porte), and then stupidly, foolishly, idiotically, killed him off! Classic MAB blunder. To do what, focus more of the Show on Phyllis?

Oh! hey mon...difference in the writing approach...I couldn't stand Phyllis under MAB but now she's back at being the Phyllis I know & love. Doesn't mean Phyllis won't be Phyllis and I don't want it changed because I like Phyllis as bad girl. Phack is so on FIRE right now...but no secret I'm a huge fan of Phack and been screaming for them together in years. PB & MS has so much chemistry then JM...IMO. I loving the slow burn romance of reconnecting between Phack.
Like today's episode (Friday) was so good but a couple of spots. I hate "forced" flashbacks. I know it's to build on characters but on any soap I have always hated it. I like the chemistry so much more between Dylan\Sharon and once again on their brief scene it was electric. It's not I don't mind the Avery\Dylan story and I do like the character of Avery, trying to get to know Dylan character (to new right now)but the wrong couple for hooking up should be "Shylan" IMO
