Ratings, Rants and Raves: More on DAYS' Ratings Spike; Still Not Feeling GH's Connie
General Hospital dipped slightly in total viewers (-56,000). In households, GH held steady (up a whopping five-tenths of a point year-to-date!). Among W18-49, GH fell one-tenth of a point. However, the ABC soap went up by one-tenth among W18-34.
Storywise, Sam (Kelly Monaco) accepted Jason's (Steve Burton) death, thanks to McBain's (Michael Easton). Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Connie (Kelly Sullivan) became closer, as he helped her do what she needed to do for a brain dead Trey (Erik Valdez). A smashed Carly (Laura Wright) sliced and diced Todd's (Roger Howarth) hotel suite—not to mention her own hair—as AJ (Sean Kanan) bore witness. Tracy (Jane Elliot) retained control of ELQ, with the help of a vampire-slaying Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring).
Felix (Marc Samuel) became Carly's Best Gay Friend. Maxie (Kirsten Storms) learned her oven had a new puppy, er, bun; while Lante (Julie Marie Berman and Dominic Zamprogna) searched for a missing Luke (Anthony Geary).
I still have no use for Connie, Kate, or whoever she's calling herself these days. I don't want to see Sonny fall for an alter. I want Kate integrated, only to decide to take a job with Paris Vogue. Can't Sonny reconnect with No. 1 Baby Mama Olivia (the sex-sational Lisa LoCicero), now that Snore-ven Lars (Scott Reeves) is leaving?
Glad to see Sam finally come to terms with the fact that Jason has moved to Genoa City. Bring on McBam, baby!
Carly and AJ were a hoot — first at The Floating Rib and later in Todd's hotel room. Lynn Herring is picking up right where Robin Mattson left off as GH's Special 80's Guest Star Du Jour. I cannot WAIT until she's reunited with Doc (Jon Lindstrom). See you next Ratings!
