AMAZING: All My Children and One Life to Live to Premiere Digitally on Hulu, Hulu Plus and iTunes!

Okay, of all the news that has come out about Prospect Park's continuations of All My Children and One Life to Live, this is definitely the most promising. I take that back. Mama Agnes Nixon once again being involved with her babies was the most promising news, but the following development is most assuredly the runner-up.

Prospect Park has inked a deal to distribute The Online Network's (TOLN) all-new episodes of AMC and OLTL via Hulu, Hulu Plus and iTunes!

Per their distribution pact with Hulu, AMC and OLTL have the potential to reach millions of fans on Hulu.com for free. Hulu Plus subscribers will be able to watch the wanton, striving antics of the citizens of Pine Valley and Llanview, Pennsylvania play out on web-connected TVs, mobile phones, tablets and PCs. iTunes users will be able to watch on iPhones, iPads, iPod touches, Apple TVs, Mac and/or PC.

“I believe that both Hulu and iTunes have the vision, the reach and the technology to help us launch TOLN in a significant way,” said Prospect Park CEO Jeff Kwatinetz. “We think these platforms are part of history, helping us to transform distribution. Hulu’s reach, platform and advertising prowess are best in class, and iTunes provides an incredible way to buy TV shows that is second to none. Through both of these partners, we hope daytime drama fans are absolutely delighted to be able to watch their favorite programs in a broadcast-quality HD format wherever and whenever they want.”

Look for new eppys of AMC and OLTL to begin streaming this spring!

It depends on the cost for me, because the news release specifically says there will be a cost on iTunes (and as appleridge points out, Hulu's not available in Canada). The release says, "iTunes provides an incredible way to buy TV shows that is second to none". Okey-dokey. How much?

There's no doubt the diehard fans will likely shell out cash to watch the shows (depending on the quality, of course), but how many casual soap viewers will pay? That's the big question.

I've been reading about how Hulu has been striving to acquire a lot of original programming in recent times. They are even producing an original series starring Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright on Hulu, which looks promising.

It's hard not to see this in a pretty positive light.

hopefully PP distributed them on Youtube, so fans that don't want Hulu or itunes can just to a AMC and OLTL Channel and Subscribe.

Not a chance. Hulu patrols YouTube like crazy! When was the last time you've been able to watch SNL clips or virtually anything from NBC on YouTube? They are fanatical about cleansing YouTube of their content.

TV Gord,
Hulu is FREE
Hulu Plus is 7.99 a month

I-tunes is usually 1.99 an episode but DOOL is on there and has season pass prices. The season pass for 2011-12 costs 21.99

As I pointed out, Hulu is not available in Canada.

$21.99 isn't unreasonable for a season pass.

People do realize that Hulu is free, right? It's Hulu Plus that is subscription based.

Netflix has a monthly subscription cost.

I'm assuming that the fact that it will be distributed through Hulu as well as Hulu Plus and iTunes means that there will be at least one pathway to view without fees. Otherwise, I won't be watching (lol).

You can't record off iTunes, can you?

Hulu is free, but i bet what they'll do is post only 1-2 minute clips (like they do with their most popular shows) on the free-site to entice people to buy the full episodes on the Hulu-Paid site.

Hulu will probably have just the episodes
Hulu plus - episodes plus added content
Itunes- because some prefer to watch there shows on itunes instead of hulu or netflix I guess.

This is a little confusing, let me see if I understand. Episodes will be available on the free Hulu.com service online, but if you pay for their paid service, you can view them on mobile devices and televisions? Or can you only view episodes at all through the paid Hulu service?

Just not sure I'm understanding....

This is too stressful. I want to watch it on my TV. Here I go again with this annoying talk.

HULU will have the full episodes but you will be forced to watch the ads. There are 5 mins of Ads & 25 mins of content per episode

I am of the understanding that the deal with Hulu and iTunes is in ADDITION to being able to watch them online for free on TOLN. Those who don't want to pay should be able to watch for free on TOLN (if HULU doesn't show full episodes as some speculate). Isn't that correct?

I agree with The_Moustache, Hulu is a rip off. I get that Hulu is free but I'd rather stick with one streaming site. I only go on Hulu if I'm really desperate to watch something. Other than that, I just stick to youtube. You can count me out of the OLTL/AMC relaunch online party. I'll only watch if both shows get streamed to youtube.

to giogio this may be annoying talk but to the vast majority of fans, it's hope. I'm sure the talk will continue until OLTL and AMC begin airing. Please bare with us or give yourself a month off from this site. Wink

I dont understand you would rather not watch than watch it for free on Hulu?

fmat55, I believe giogio was talking about herself, because she said, "Here I go again with the annoying talk". She was not attacking anyone. She was talking about how she doesn't want to have to deal with the online stuff, which I believe reflects the opinions of a lot of viewers.

I've been a Hulu Plus subscriber for a couple of years now. This is great news. Now I can watch AMC on my Xbox hopefully in HD.

Welcome to the future of branded, scripted television, ladies and gentlemen. Either ride the wave or get left behind. Personally, I'll ride the wave and enjoy my new sturries instead of complaining about whether or not I may have to pay to watch.

Just FYI - you pay for cable, which means you pay to watch television shows already. What's the difference?

Yes, I spelled "sturries" on purpose. Wink

I DON'T WANNA PAY FOR HULU. THAT'S THE DIFFERENCE GIRL!
