New Versions of All My Children and One Life to Live WON'T be Telenovela Style!

Buzz that the continuations of All My Children and One Life to Live, set to air on Prospect Park's The Online Network (TOLN) and other platforms, will be distributed in telenovela arcs apparently isn't true. Meanwhile, reports that AMC and ONE LIFE would adopt a telenovela format once it hits online are untrue, Llanview co-head writer Thom Racina tells me.
I was kinda looking forward to shorter arcs for AMC and OLTL. I enjoyed the format on Port Charles, and feel it helps prevent the type of story fatigue so many daytime dramas suffer from at times. That being said, if Racina is involved, I at least know Llanview is in good hands. Here's hoping All My Children will also luck out in the writers' room...

Sorry, Jamey, but I'm glad. I do NOT want my soaps in 13-week cycles. I want my daytime dramas all year around!!!!! A REAL Head Writer knows how to write a show all year around. Look at Ron C.

I am actually glad to read that. I didn't warm up to the Port Charles telenovela style because I felt there was often times too much story padding for a story to fit into the 13 week story format.
But, if there was a good, tight story I would try it again. I wonder if there will be much lead time or will this be the case of Days with months in advance story lockdown. I like the ability of the writers to course correct story as needed.

@Jamey Giddens: Any word on who the co-headwriter will be for AMC? And I didn't like the PC telenovela style either. Those arcs hurt it.

@everyone: Speaking of timely tales here is an article on the subject of Destiny's character turn.

Now that is truly ripped from the headlines type of stories we need.
I just have one question? Does anyone take Dic'tation?
