Before there was Rafe Hernandez on Days, there was Ryan Lavery as a soap's resident douche. I actually like Cameron Mathison, so if he can come back as Ryan, that would be cool.
I wanted him to be Kelly Ripa's co-host on Live! But the show chose to go with Michael Strahan (head scratch).

I like Cameron, don't like Ryan. A strong character that was ruined by a crappy regime. His obession with all things Greenlee ruined him. Same goes for Greenlee and her obsession with Ryan. Cameron and Rebecca are good people with HORRIBLE characters.

But in all honesty, I have always liked Cameron Mathison and found him to be a perfectly capable actor. Never got all the fuss about him being "horrible." Whatever. Different strokes for different folks.........

Ugh, im sick of Ryan. In my opinion the focus on all things ryan is what helped the ratings decline. He can be annoying at times.

Definitely a capable actor and seems like a team player. Not like SB (aka JFPs golden boy). Cameron is proud of his AMC work. The writing of the last few years of AMC just made the character unbearable.
Can there be definite stars of the show? Absolutely. Lets use AMC. We all know Susan Lucci is the star of the show. Even in AMCs 1980s heyday, Erica still had FLAWS. And she knew it and had formidable enemies and opponents.
Soaps main problems is character propping the "stars" (ie Steve Burton, Maurice Bernard, Michelle Stafford, Eric Braden etc). They never lose. They are always "perfect" and shoved down our throats.

Was never a huge Ryan fan but for those who liked the writers/Frons' obsession with all Ryan (and Greenlee) good for you. I got sick of them and bailed out of AMC.
