Some things just don’t change, even after a two-and-a-half week hiatus from watching Days of Our Lives because of the holidays. When I last tuned in, the only thing remotely interesting was Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Kristen (Eileen Davidson). Whether ironic, sad or depressing, one thing is certain; absolutely nothing has changed. It is still the only interesting storyline.

Sure, Brady continues to be an idiot, and yes Kristen’s toying smirk can be a bit annoying when done too often. However, 95% of the time, they are the single best thing DAYS has to offer. The impact of their relationship's revelation on his family was fantastic.

John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) were in fine form on Monday. Marlena let John have it, after he confronted her about keeping Brady’s relationship a secret for so long. She demanded to know if she was supposed to have taped Brady and Kristen having sex, because he wouldn't have believed her otherwise.
 

Sami (Alison Sweeney) barged into Brady’s hospital room, and called him out for falling prey to Kristen. I love it when Sami goes all "protective sister" with one of her siblings. I just wish it would lead her down that wonderfully dark path back to super bitch Sami.

Later, when Sami confronted Kristen outside Brady’s room, Kristen played her role perfectly. Kristen reminded Sami that she was the aunt to her children, and claimed she only wanted everyone to get along.  Then, she tried to smooth things over even more, but Sami wouldn’t have any of what Kristen was trying to sell.

Sami told Marlena and John they had to stay together, because Brady and Kristen’s relationship was worse than she thought. She advised them to keep a strong united front against Kristen. John agreed with Sami, but he changed his tune after she left. He informed Marlena that he wasn’t sure she had told him everything about Kristen.

Everything else on Days of Our Lives continues to be BOR to the ING.

Daniel (Shawn Christian) prepared for a special evening with Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), but when he answered the door, he found Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) instead. They began chatting, but Chloe just talked in circles.

At the Brady pub, Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) and Ma Brady (Peggy McCay) talked about Caroline’s memory problems.
