In other reboot news, former OLTL producer and director Jennifer Pepperman has been selected as that sudser's new executive producer. Pepperman began her daytime career at Guiding Light in the 90's, serving as a production coordinator. From 1998–2000, she worked as a coordinating producer at OLTL. From 2000-2010, she directed episodes of As The World Turns. She returned to OLTL in 2010 as an associate director.

I have to admit that my heart drops when I see a name like this for the returning soaps, although it was reported and not announced. I think you need to lead with some AMC legacy names to generate buzz. The Dallas reboot didn't start off with "Barbara Stock signs on".
I loved Lindsay on Passions, but I never took to her character on AMC. That's more on the writing than acting. I was also tuning in sporadically. What was her story at the end? I vaguely recall her with Tad and David Hayward. Hopefully she will have some good material so I can get invested in her character.

any news on how this will air?? Is the plan still to air on the web or are they taking it to cable TV???
I would think with the fans reacion to the shows exit and how the shows that have filled their time slots didnt do as well as ABC had hoped (even Katie - I believe isnt getting the ratings all had hoped for) that Cable networks would be more willing to take a second look at these shows???

I'm cautionously excited about AMC, my gut is telling me they will try to make arrangements to secure Susan Lucci and it seems PP is whole heartly concentrating on AMC abit more at this stage. If they can secure LaLucci the buzz will explode all over the internet and main stream news because PP could use that bit of buzz to their advantage for both shows to generate headlines...Erica Kane LIVES ON!

I AM CAUTIOUSLY OPTIMISTIC!!!!
i don't want to get my hopes too high because this time last year Prospect Park was announcing they had executive producers, actors, sets, funding, etc and then it all went to $hit.
FINGERS CROSSED IT DOESN'T HAPPEN AGAIN!

Soapybitch Cara was LH's most developed and well written character in her long tenured soap career. She didn't get enough time to build a large fan following for Cara though. Of course she tried to get Jake from Amanda and ended up falling for Tad until Dixie turned up alive. The best was falling for Dr David Hayward and getting pregnant and its David's baby. That's how it ended and I was a huge Cara/David fan.

This probably means that they're planning to sign Vincent Irizarry too.
Excellent!

Yes! I loved Lindsay Hartley as Cara. She was a great addition to the show. Now I just hope we get Vincent Irizarry signed as well. I want more Dara.

I completely forgot about Cara. But at least they have someone and are starting to secure actors. This is actually looking promising.

Okay, love Lindsay, but like I said, baby steps.
If they can get more actors, then I'll be excited.

I like reading these updates on the PP shows, I'm still not getting my hopes up until they are taping the shows. But I love reading the casting and behind the scenes of this. It's sad but the behind the scenes of daytime is way more exciting than anything going on on any of the shows!
I hope that the new OLTL producer is going to do it justice. It's too bad Frank and Ron can't do it, but if this lady worked on GL in the eary 90s that's a great sign!

If they think the AMC audience cares about Cara the powers that be at Prospect Park are sorely mistaken. That means they will probably have her brother as well who nobody cared about. If theses shows are going to succeed they need to get the vets and build their families with younger/newer actors that are tied to the show.
As for Pepperman, I hope it works out well at OLTL. Her resume doesn't say that she has EP'd shows before and to jump from production coordinator and directing is a BIG jump. Also, hope she knows the characters and history of OLTL since she only worked there for 2 years. It's going to be even more important to get a writer who knows this show since the OLTL writing team is all employed at GH>

She can act, just didn't like the char, especially when she tried to get between a married couple with a baby. I would rather have Amanda and Jake and even Babe.

@nysam: She was the easy first hire. Just hope they don't contact Denise Vasi (crosses fingers). The other actors will take time and negotiations.

@mrsa1107: You forgot Debbie Morgan, Darnell Williams and Cornelius Smith Jr. (Angie, Jesse and Frankie). They are a very important part of AMC and couldn't see the show without them.

easy maybe, but definitely unneccesary. The shows are going to be a half hour and on cheaper budgets. That means the cast size will be significantly smaller. Probably about 20 at the most (think the size of BB). If there are only 20 characters to play on AMC, Cara would not be in my top 20 or 50 for that matter.

Something tells me these reboots are not targeting fans of the past. Because, fans of the past, such as many of us posting here, are used to the old-school way with these soaps. We have baggage. I would bet they will be going after new viewers and if the old ones tag along, thats fine. They do not have money to go old school vets and tried and true, because its just too costly.

Cara C was one of the better newbie AMC characters...she fit right into the canvas IMO. Can't say the same about her brother Griffin (played by the awesome and funny Jordi Vilasuso).
Good for Lindsay. Let's hope more of the previous cast signs up! If I was the EP, I would Fastforward the show 7 years into the future...age some of the babies, and go from there with whoever signs on...they can always fill in the gaps later.

I can recall that last year she was one of the first to sign up for the PP reboot of AMC so Im not surprise that her name is one of the first to resurface. I actually started to like her character especially when paired with Tad. If they bring Tad and Dixie back, I wouldn't mind seeing a triangle among the three.
I gotta say that although Im still skeptical, I will admit that earlier this year when PP announced that they weren't able to reboot the two shows at that time, they did say that they would still continue to try to bring the two shows back. So here's hoping they can make it happen in whatever format, online or cable.

Cara is important to David, as the mother of his child and someone he was starting to have feelings for at the end, so I want to see their love/family story continue on the new AMC!

Happy to share that I just signed on with Prospect Park for the “All My Children” reboot! Excited to bring dastardly Dr. David back to life, as he did for so many others, and to see my dear friends in Pine Valley once again. A great, big thank you to all the fans for your tenacity in keeping the hope alive. You’re awesome!!! Let’s all keep our fingers crossed together that it becomes a reality.
