BREAKING NEWS: Ginger Smith Set to Helm Prospect Park's Reboot of All My Children!
Prospect Park's plans to resurrect All My Children and One Life to Live continue to look like a reality. Sources have informed yours truly that former AMC producer and writer Ginger Smith is set to be the showrunner for that serial's next incarnation.
Smith was employed by ABC Daytime's version of AMC for 20 years, beginning as a production intern in 1988. From 1988–1990, she served as a production coordinator, before being promoted to the position of assistant to the executive producer by Felicia Minei Behr.
In 1994, she was promoted to production assistant, then in 1996 was named associate producer. From 1997–99, Smith was a coordinating producer at AMC. In 1999, she was promoted to supervising producer, a slot she held until 2004. From 2004–10, Smith was a producer for AMC, and also wrote for the serial briefly from January to March 2008.
Reportedly, Prospect Park is looking to bring on someone from OLTL's old production staff to helm that sudser's reboot. Keep checking back with Daytime Confidential as this game-changing story develops!
