I do NOT like Abby, but I am a Marcy Rylan fan, so while I am not THRILLED about this news, I am somewhat happy. But without Ashley on the canvas, Abby's presence in town just won't be the same.

If the character of Abby continues to be the same shrill, annoying heiress as written in the Maria Arena Bell years, I don't want her around. If the new regime lets Marcy play Abby as more mature and grounded, then I am glad she will be returning.

This will be a 'wait-and-see' thing for me...

Meh...I like the actress but the character never resonated. Marcy Rylan is too old for the role as it has been written. Hopefully, Josh Griffith will find a purpose for the character.

The writing for her under MAB did not do her any favors, but her characterization was also very unlikeable for me. However, I am optimistic about how she will be used this time around.

Hooray. Too bad SONY cant have Eileen D work on both DAYS and Y&R. The scenes of Abby comforting her Mom after Tucker slept with Harmony were some of the best Marcy had ever done.

But as least she will be back from time to time.

And with Marco Dapper playing Carmine Basco, Abby's boytoy still on the show, this is good news for Marco!

I am hoping that they put Abby at Jabot to be paired with Devon. But I doubt it. I am sure she is coming back to prop up Carmine/Marco Dapper. Also pretty sure they will pair her with Carmine so that Victor can get story trying to break them up. Villy 2.0. No thanks.

I am with you on this one. Never cared for the naked heiress BS, but thought she made a great Abby and maybe with a better writer, she will get to be even more interesting.

Maybe if Victor can constantly try to break up Carmine and Abby, he will give Victoria and Billy a break from time to time.

VERY irritating character and not needed now that Ashley is gone. Plus she's about a decade too old to be playing Abby.

Best news ever my tush. I HATED Abby. The writing and MR's acting choices made her nothing but a shrew. Someone needs to tell Rylan to tone that s#it down, not to bug her eyes out in every scene, and not to act like Judith Chapman on steroids. IMO, she's pointless without Ashley. Pair her with Kevin.

No, pair her back with Carmine again. Then have maybe this Tyler pursue Abby, too.

Anyways, YES. of the ladies they cut around this time, she made no sense to me. She never should've been let go. Y&R needs a character or two that brings some levity from time to time.

She is easy on the eyes, but I wish she wouldn't lose the knockers that she had when she was pregnant. She already losing them by the time Summer 2012 rolled around.

Wow! The two biggest mistakes the new team made...and they've already corrected one. The character of Abby should have a ton of story. It'll be interesting to see if she's written to be a little less abrasive. Welcome back!

Glad Abby coming back home to GC! Under Maria The Naked Heiress was MAB gimmick for the character. Abby was to be a spoil brat, but when Josh took over they seem to have simmer her down. It did seem that she was growing up-

Yayyy!! Since Eileen D, the real Ashley, is on DOOL, bring back Brenda Epperson to fill in as Ashley until Days gets canceled...

LOL! but I didn't mind Brenda in all honestly I think she could be a plus in the mean time until ED's contract is up I'll be diggin' Brenda for return of Ashley...because we need Ashley on canvas. Marcy Rylan is hybrid of both Ashleys. She looks a lot like a young Brenda's Ashley and she was the one through the growing up years with Victoria when Victoria was 15 and marrying Ryan, having the AIDS scare and Ashley could interact with Victoria this time around.

I LOOOOOOOOVEEEEEDD Brenda Epperson's Ashley. I was really young when she was on, but I just remember thinking she was so pretty, yet smart at the same time, and able to handle herself in the boardroom.

Sigh…I miss the days when the women of Y&R were business powerhouses. Jill…Ashley…Victoria…later Phyllis and Dru.
