Is Jeff Zucker Headed For CNN?

In October, Deadline reported Jeff Zucker, former CEO of NBCUniversal and Katie executive producer, was among the possible contenders to take over ratings-challenged cable news channel CNN. Now The New York Times is reporting the four-month search is focusing on Zucker.

Several news executives close to Mr. Zucker said this week that they believed he had been chosen to run CNN, and they expected the appointment to be announced soon. People close to the Time Warner chief executive, Jeffrey L. Bewkes, also identified Mr. Zucker. A Time Warner spokesman declined to comment.

More industry recycling? I think he should retire quite honestly.

Despite his apparent friendship with Piers Morgan, I hope he realizes business is business and has the good sense to kick him to the curb (for the good of the network)!

Good luck to him. He'll need it. He's going to have to fire half of the anchors. The first one to go should be Soledad O'Brien.

Love how these guys keep "failing upward." He destroyed NBC, Katie is DOA, and now he gets to run an international news organization. Go figure.

Some people can get second and third chances to fail miserbly. Others, not so much.
