By Jillian Bowe on October 24, 2012

Oprah Winfrey's media dominance continues to grow. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Mighty O's Harpo Films has partnered with HBO to create a new television drama. Winfrey's untitled drama will center around the wealthy first black president of a prestigious liberal arts college, who's family gains media attention. The family puts on a united front, while dealing with infighting and dark obsessions behind the scenes.
Playright Thomas Bradshaw has signed on to the project as co-executive producer and writer. Harpo's Kate Forte will serve as showrunner for the hour-long drama.

I heard Tyler Perry will be partnering with the O on some projects for her network. I am thinking this will help her out since she alone can no longer draw an audience. Perry said this was a win-win for him. He mentioned he was interested in starting his own network also at some time in the future.
