It Wasn't The Women in Jason Morgan's Life, It Was The Life in His Women on General Hospital!
No. 5: Elizabeth Webber
It was a supercouple almost a decade in the making. Reeling from the "death" of her childhood sweetheart Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson), Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) formed an unbreakable bond with Jason Morgan. Their pact was strenghtened when Liz nursed Jason back to health at her artist's loft, following a gunshot wound.
Not even Lucky's (Jacob Young) return from the dead, or Jason's lengthy absence from Port Charles could shake the growing connection between "Liason". Distractions like Zander Smith (Chad Brannon) and Courtney Matthews (Alicia Leigh Willis) temporarily pulled Liz and Jason apart, but they always stayed friends — good friends.
It was only natural that when her marriage to Lucky (Greg Vaughan) began to unravel, at the same time as his relationship with Sam (Kelly Monaco), that Liz would find her way up those stairs to forever with Jason! Forever didn't last long, however.
The secret of Jake's parernity, Jason going on trial for murder and a vengeful Sam all conspired to wreck Liason once and for all (Not to mention, a meddling network executive!). The pairing seemed all but finished when Jake—the child Liz bore Jason, but raised as Lucky's—was mowed down by his adoptive grandfather Luke (Anthony Geary). With Jake dead, the final nail had been hammered into Liason's coffin. Or had it been?
Flash forward to 2012, when JaSam's marriage fell apart and Jason and Liz had a chance meeting (and a kiss!) on a very special bridge. Liason fans once again had reason to hope, but in Port Charles, hope doesn't spring eternal. Neither do actor contracts. Steve Burton's decision to leave the series after 21 years resulted in the Liason reunion being iced in favor of a quickie reunion for JaSam and their baby.
