Call the fire department because The Young and the Restless is bringing the heat! EW.com is reporting Y&R has cast two fine bruthas, Redaric Williams and Lamon Archey. Williams landed the role of Tyler Douglas.
Back in August we posted Williams' impressive audition tape, where Tyler is hired by Neil (Kristoff St. John) at Jabot and mixes things up with his baby girl Lily (Christel Khalil). Archey has signed on to play Mason. Look for both to debut on Y&R in November.

Hot dang now dis is what I'm talkin' about...I hope they can act; Jill has to do more than talk the talk to reel me back in..I don't care for her and it depends on their storyline.
They'll probably be straddled with that vapid Lily but hey who cares I've overlooked her for years...at least I'd have something to focus on in her scenes. I hope DeVon can get some air...is he still with the show?

Lawd help me. I thought Redaric Williams was fine but that Lamon Archey got him beat. I agree with whoever said that this Mason character should be Dr. Nate. Yes, please be Dr. Nate. And they need to cast Roxanne a sister and do a repeat of Neil/Dru/Malcolm/Olivia with Devon/Roxy/Dr. Nate/and Roxy's sister. I am over the character of Lily since TPTB seem content in having her being held hostage by CK and Lane fans. i love what she represents but the character has always fallen short of what I thought that she could be...Lily Amanda Winters, thou are loosed. You are free. I don't care about you anymore. I am moving on.

I always thought that the front burner during those times was always more about Dru than anything. Then they tried the same thing with Lily as played by CK and she just couldn't carry it nor was the character old enough for the stories they wrote for her. JMO. I am hopefully optimistic.

Well its about time. I've long needed a young brotha on canvas besides Devon whose just not sexy at all. I hope they can act. Some models can pull it off. Tyler is gonna be the Lane interloper right? Poor guy. Mason should've been Nate. I hope they're not limited to interacting with only the Winters.

Doesn't Y&R already have a fan war over Lily...those that love her only being paired with every white man in town versus those that want her to be paired with a black man at least once...Lane fans versus the rest of the viewing population...those who love Ck in the role versus those that are demanding anyone but CK in the role.
From the moment CK was cast as Dru's daughter, fans have been at war over the character.
IMO, if Sony/CBS/Y&R/JFP/JG wanted a REAL crazy fan war, they would hook Lily up with a white legacy character...either Adam or Noah...and watch the Laners fracture...they would eat themselves alive. Matter of fact, after a year of the triangle and a fer masterful strokes of the pen, they would be wanting Cane dead. JMO!

@Divatude58: i'm just a fan of getting CK off the show for good. At least she is recurring so we are not committed to her. Gotta take your blessings when they come!
Besides that Josh had the story about Dru and then he had Damon with Phyllis where the story was equally about him as it was about her. Sadly they never paired him with Olivia before he was written off.
But we need to hear the words that they are casting a young sistah with some spunk set this thing off right. Somehow I still hope they can work Shannon Kane into the show or someone with that personality type.
