Maura West and Scott DeFreitas’ Son to Star in A Christmas Story, The Musical

Joe West, the 12-year-old son of former As the World Turns favorite Maura West and Scott DeFreitas (ex-Andy, ATWT), has landed the role of Ralphie in the Broadway production of A Christmas Story, The Musical, according to Broadway World. West will share the role with Johnny Rabe. Producer Gerald Goehring couldn’t be more pleased to have the two join the show. Said Goehring:
"After months of searching, we are thrilled to have found two exceptionally talented boys to play the role of Ralphie," producer Gerald Goehring said in a statement. "Broadway's newest 12-year-old triple threat, Johnny Rabe, graduated from the ranks of the kids' ensemble in last year's tour to become our terrific young leading man. And Joe West wowed us with his online video audition and now joins our fabulous company. We couldn't be more excited to be the first to share these two young stars with the Broadway community!"
A Christmas Story, the Musical will play November 5 through December 30. Visit the official website for more information.

How wonderful! I remember that maternity leave of Maura's in 2000. They grow up so fast.
I wish I lived on the east coast to see it.

Oh, wow, congratulations to this young man. I guess this is a temporary move back to the East Coast for West and DeFreitas. Come on back!
I still remember when Scott was Andy on ATWT.
