The Obamas Are Ratings Gold For The View
By Jamey Giddens on September 28, 2012

If this doesn't make Elisabeth Hasselbeck vote for Barack Obama, nothing will. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the recent appearance of the President and First Lady Michelle Obama was watched by 4.3 million viewers. The installment netted the ABC Daytime talk show a four-month ratings high. Yes they can — cause Nielsen spikes!

Can you figure that? Despite all the snarking about the President showing up for the View (even though it was taped in advance) when the annual meeting at the United Nations was in session, people were interested enough to tune in despite the hullabaloo by the Twitterazi.

I am still shocked and offended by the wardrobe on this show. Whoopi in jeans and Sherri dressed like she is about to go to a nightclub. This show is plain AWFUL.

You said it, the Obamas' are NO exception, celebrities through & through. Now politicians, that is another matter, because that they are not, esp. Barack or Barry or whatever his name is. As for the View, I gave those biased hussies up looong ago for The Price is Right. GO ROMNEY.

From what I can tell Whoopi dressed up. Look at those shoes. She usually wears shoes like it's 1996, either clunky mary jane looking horrors or sneakers.

We all know that man's name is not Barry! He is the President and desrves to be called by his rightful name Just like Mitt will if he is elected. This election us bringing out the ugly. And Whoopi will never wear s dress but that is what you get with her. Mitt said he would do the show so I wonder how those ratings will be.

I think the ratings for Mitt will probably be higher. Love or hate him, people think they know all they need to know about the President. There's a curiosity factor regarding Bishop Romney. That translates into ratings.

obviously the "hussies" aren't the only biased ones....because this post is verging on ignorance...and my political stance has nothing to do with it.

I agree with tris - seriously even if you dont respect obama, you should respect the OFFICE and that includes calling someone by their rightful and chosen name. I dont like people calling mitt williard not because theres anything wrong with that name but because he goes by MITT and calling someone by a name they dont use is IMHO belittling and does nothing to further the discourse. It speaks to whether you want to contribute to serious dialog about a subject or if you just want to snark. Call him barack obama or obama or BHO but barry or old whats his name is petty.
That said, i think folks talking about celebrity is that someone serious about DOING the job would not go on the View on the same day that you are telling a foreign dignitary that you dont have the time for a face to face meeting. The feedback has been so incredibly negative and the WH realized that they had hurt themselves by appearing frivolous instead of Presidential so they have since turned course and had the meeting. I say again it has nothing to do with going on the view and everything to do with engaging in politics and spectacle in the midst of a world wide crisis.

I have found out, that I can not watch the View,
the yelling, the bias, usually can't understand what they are saying, because one has a bigger and louder mouth than the next one.
A shame, because if the show was more balanced it could be a good show.
But that is just my Little Old Opinion.....
However, I think Obama does gravitate quite a bit towards the Celebrities,
I like to see him more involved just being the President for All,
the rich (not just celebrities), all the rich and all the poor and the in between, and All colors.... even steven... the way it should be...
Like Parents, Love All your Children......not that I see Obama as my Papa, LOL... just trying to make a point about fairness....

I also agree, you should always respect the Office of the President,
but sometimes it does happen, that the person sitting in the chair,
forgets to do the same thing.... He, the President, not naming one, whoever he is, also has to Respect the Office of the President, all just My Opinion...

True, but sometimes you have to act like a bigger person and do what you know is right. I wouldn't call George Bush ,Georgie. I don't know him.
