NBC Apologizes to Affiliates For Today’s 9/11 Moment of Silence Pre-emption Controversy
By Luke Kerr on September 13, 2012

NBC may not be apologizing to viewers for pre-empting the moment of silence honoring September 11 World Trade Center victims—choosing instead to air an interview with Kris Jenner about her breast implants—but the broadcast network has apologized to affiliates for the storm of criticism it created at a local level. From The New York Times:
“Yesterday, we made an editorial call resulting in the Sept, 11 moment of silence not being seen. While we dedicated a substantial amount of airtime to anniversary events, we still touched a nerve with many of your viewers … and for that we apologize.”

So they apologized to AFFILIATES, but not to the viewers. Viewers would probably appreciate an apology as well.
It shows how little respect NBC corporately has for meaningful events in this country. Their cable news channel is a joke. Why would the broadcast channel show something meaningful?

"For that, we apologize." *smh* As if they didn't know people were gonna be pissed. If they didn't think people would mind cutting in on a moment of silence for thousands of innocent lives lost to talk about Kris Jenner's breast implants would make people angry, they're dumbasses.

This makes no sense. If they haven't participated in the moment of silence since 2006 (except for last year)....then why apologize, even to the affiliates? If anything, they should have known.
