SOAP BYTES: Where is Liason’s “What If” Episode on GH? Kate and Sami Prepare For War on DAYS
GH BYTES: If you are a Jason (Steve Burton) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) fan then I suspect Thursday’s episode of General Hospital might have provided a bit of closure for your couple, in light of the fact Burton is leaving. Then again, it might have just rubbed salt in a wound. I have to admit it was well done. I particularly enjoyed seeing the Spixie I once loved fall back into their old dynamic. I think my favorite parts were the baby shower and the Lamaze class.
However, as a Liason fan, I kept demanding my TV to tell me where the “What if Jake Hadn’t Been Mowed Down by Luke (Anthony Geary)” episode is?
Robin Mattson’s return as Heather Webber was also a treat. How a character like Heather, with her many layers and nuances, could end up with a stick in the mud son like Steven Lars (Scott Reeves) is beyond me.
Thursday’s General Hospital ended with the best cliffhanger of the week, Heather on Tea’s (Florencia Lozano) doorstep.

Call me old fashioned, but I liked it back in the day when murder was one line the villains we LOVED (the ones that are entertaining and funny) did not cross. Heather had to kill the therapist, because it's the same thing that OLTL's psychiatrist Dr. Marty Saybrooke did to her own therapist while on the "cray cray" train keeping John/Natalie from finding out that Liam was their biological son as a couple.

Hmmm what if jake hadn't been killed? Jason and Sam might not have decided to have a child so they would still be married and since Jason was only around Liz to see evan was crackers because Sam had kicked him to the curb, Liz might be raising jake with him. Oh and since lucky left because of jakes death and all of liz's antics post death he might still be on town happily married to Siobhan. Sounds like a good idea for an epi to me.

Why would Jiz get a "What if"? They were never a couple, and that had nothing to do with Jake's death. If Jake never died, Jason would probably still never talk to Liz. He and Sam would still be married. Lucky would still be married to Sio. Liz would be alone or with another maniac. Big whoop.

I think the real what if question would be what if Mikey wasn't shot- yes?? At that point they were still hanging out in the safe house when Jason wasn't standing her up I think.
You could still get it- I mean they are not done shooting yet- so maybe you will get some Liason goodness before then. But if you don't it's not like a character usually goes back to everyone they dated. I sort of thought that question was answered after one of Jason's last brain surgeries...

Speak for yourself Jasam fans. Hate to break it to you but Jiz" were a couple. Please move on just give it a damn rest. They also have 13 years of history and started WAY before your girl Sam strolled into town. And please don't speak for other fans.
Liason were ripped off of any decent chance of a story because of backstage politics. Liason deserves a 'what if' episode just as much as the next fanbase. Just saying.

I think it's time Paul Lee at ABC fire Frank and Ron. It's been a year, the show is still in the ratings basement and the fans that left years ago aren't tuning back in. Ron's storylines are 1 dimensional, flat and boring. The dialogue is dry and recycled, some of the characters have the same voice. If viewers tuned out of OLTL to the point of cancelation what makes Frank and Ron think we want to see Starr and Todd in Port Charles? Makes one wonder....is there politics involved?

Ahh,Luke,I knew you would be happy to see Sami front and center again.You and I may br the only ones on this site who are.Don't mind her if it means more Kate and EJ.
Also,loved Granma Kate trying to set Will up,but she really needs to take him clothes shopping.The shirts he has had on the last 2 days are terrible.
I know alot of people are bored with Days right now.I'm hoping they are just setting up storylines right now until Eileen and Joe are back.

Never. LOL. I've watched since 1994. They have been friends, off and on, since 1999. They had potential for more at times, but Jason was either leaving town, falling in love with someone else, or standing Liz up. He's never claimed to anyone that he and Liz were a couple and in a relationship together during any incarnation of Jiz. If Liz never got pregnant with Jake, they wouldn't have gone as far as they did last time, and even that went nowhere. Jason even told her in 2008 at his PH that they were going nowhere and that sleeping together is not the same thing as a relationship. Liz looked like he just kicked her puppy. Good times.

Cuz people count the years he wasn't in town and the years he and Liz didn't even have a single conversation. Jason and Liz met 13 years ago. That's true. But their history does not span 13 years. They were not in each other's lives in a significant way for most of that time.

I haven't been watching in months and completely agree with you. Paul Lee at ABC should do something since Ron and Frank are doing nothing to help the ratings. I doubt GH will make it to it's 50th anniversary which is April 1, 2013.

Wow why are Jasam fans always so threatened by Liz? It is really laughable they way the are constantly ripping her a part. I guess they know that Liz is more important to Jason then they would like.
Anyway...Jason and Liz have known each other, and have had a relationship, that has been either a friendship or a love affair for over 13 years. It started in 1999, and they are still both on the same show, and still sharing scenes now in 2012. During that time they have experienced many special moments,... both happy and sad events. I am not going to go over everything as you all very well know how many times Jason or Liz saved one another...stayed with one another, both in the studio and PH...and eventually had a child with one another. Jason DID ask Liz to marry him...and they DID plan on being a family with one another...None of this you can refute.
Now all I keep seeing is how Jasam have been a couple now for 9 years...That would be really hard since he was with Liz and broken up from Sam for a few years in between there.
Sam and Jason started out with her being Sonny's sloppy seconds, after he kicked her to the curb...and Jason had to babysit her, so she wouldn't go and have an abortion. Jasam did not go romantic until after the SamSon baby died in Nov 2004. Jasam's first kiss was Dec 2004. They were together as a couple from Dec 2004 until May 2006 when Jason broke up with Sam because of the "Danger" after she was shot. So that adds up to 18 months. Liason slept together in Aug 2006 and Jasam reunited right after that...So they were together again from Sept 2006, until July 2007... then once again they broke up because of what Sam did to Jake. During that 11 month period, Jason was emotionally cheating on Sam the whole time with Liz...I wouldn't really call that quality Jasam time now would you? Sam then started a relationship with Lucky that lasted until 2009. As soon as Jason and Liz broke up because of the "Danger", Sam broke it off with Lucky and proceeded to chase Jason again shamelessly. It did take her awhile to break him down, but eventually he succumbed to her hooker outfits and they reconciled in Aug 2009.. They have been together since then, until their most recent break up this past May. So when people say they have been together for nine years...it has hardly been that long, or even actually together.

2 years and nine months 08/09-05/12...If you add it all up...it comes out to almost 62 months of actually being a couple or 5 years scanning over nine years...with Jason thinking of, and being with Elizabeth during a few years in between.
So yes...I believe that Liason qualifies as a couple...and Jasam does not have quite the amount of "couple time" that their fans claim.

777 I can only speak for myself, but I have no problem saying that liz and jason were a couple for about a year - largely because of jake - but still they were a couple. What I dont get is why so many liz ff think that if jasam gets something, then it is somehow UNFAIR if liz and jason dont share the exact same thing. You have to admit that jake dying or not dying wouldnt change a hill of beans in terms of jason and liz being a couple because they werent even remotely in each others orbit when jake died. And if we are going to say that jasam were only together for five years not nine then saying that jiz were a 13 year pairing wouldnt hold up using the same logic.
In the end all of this is moot with burton leaving the show. The only thing that matters to me now is how they wrap things up. I hope for liz ff they do give some closure for you guys too I just dont want it to tarnish what he had with jasam. Since he is CLEARLY in love with sam STILL at this moment, imho putting liz and jason together even for one night to me seems so incredibly hollow (and spits on his marriage - i feel the same way too about mcbam, i love them together but i dont want them to be all out physical until some time after jason exits). I hope that Jason has a tender moment with liz and he tells her that she has always had a special place in his heart for her, that he always will, and then it stops short of anything physical. And no, I dont want a what if epi when they JUST did that with jasam. I just think that at least for this fan, I dont mind that liz is important, i just dont want the writing to suggest these relationships are equal or interchangable for jason because they are not, at least not at this time. One woman is the friend he leans on when hes on the outs with his wife, the other IS his wife. One woman is the mother of his missing child, the other is a woman he USE to be involved with but not enough so to raise a child with her. One woman is the woman jason lived with for more than half a decade, the other is the woman who he hooked up with here and there in a safe house. Had burton stayed Im sure that they pendulum would have likely at some point swung back to jiz and maybe would have become a more real, day to day relationship, but up until now they arent on the same playing field and there isnt enough time to really change that now. To try would be insulting to me.

Liz is everyone's sloppy second. What makes you think she would've had a 'what if' with Jason. She needs a 'what if' with Lucky not Jason. What if she didnt manipulate Lucky into rescuing her by checking into Shadybrook. What if she didn't constantly harass Siobhan when she was with Lucky. What if she didn't cheat on Lucky with Jason and Nikolas. What if she wasn't romping on the floor with Lucky's brother Nikolas. What if floor whore wasn't so whiney or needy. What if.....

Word EET- Preach!! For myself I don't think they have not been together- nor do I deny that they have loved each other. I was also pointing out that a what if on Jake isn't the same. You would be going back to the turning point when their relationship changed. That was when mini mobster was shot. For me that was an organic honest break up. This jasam break up doesn't sit right with me because it was based on one huge lie. It was not what either one of them wanted. They just can't get passed the pain. Jason is still at this moment very much in love with his wife- wants to be with her- have a family with her.
My other point is if say Laura Wright was leaving you wouldn't devote a bunch of stuff to what if with Alcazar.. All the stuff with Liason was a long time ago- all this is in the now. It is all very front and center and revolves around a lot of the cast..
On that note though- while I wouldn't want to see that episode I would be very happy for the Liason fans that have stuck with the show through thick and thin. Not the ones that boycott- or swear that if Liason isn't together there is no way they are watching the show. The ones that don't care about all the jobs or the other actors. As a jasam fan I never stopped watching and if it is an episode I can't stand I always make sure it is playing for ratings. I just don't like that game of hoping the show fails just because your couple isn't together. In the end they are all just doing their jobs. It isn't Kemo's fault that SB is leaving.. So I hope the faithful loyal fans get their payday..

I am pretty over this debate. All this agitation is really bad for the indigestion. All I care about is getting good stories for the vets on the show and for the female characters to be treated with respect. If that doesn't happen and they keep pushing these crap stories with women who have no self respect than I cannot bring myself to care whether GH gets cancelled. It shOuld go off if they treat women like crap. Women are the majority of the viewers. We wonder why viewership is off?
