Blake Hood and Alyssa Diaz to Play Two New Hybrids on Vampire Diaries

The CW continues to provide work for current and former daytime soap stars. TV Guide is reporting Blake Hood (Kyle, The Young and the Restless) and Alyssa Diaz (ex-Celia, As The World Turns) will be playing Dean and Kimberly, a pair of sexy, new hybrids under the control of Klaus (Joseph Morgan).
Look for Hood to appear in Episode 5 of TVD's upcoming fourth season. Diaz will first show up in Eppy 6. Season 4 of TVD premieres at 8 pm EST, Oct. 11 on The CW.

Starting to get like True Blood with too many characters. Or maybe I'm just bitter that Plec won't really write for Bonnie as a character nor give her a viable love interest from main characters already on the show. I'm iffy on the new season as I found S3 disappointing.
I think Kevin Williamson needs to come back.

I still enjoy both shows but agree with the too many characters comment. The thing about TRUE BLOOD this year I find most annoying (silly me) is that it seem obvious that they are shying away from the previous rampant male nudity. With VAMPIRE DIARIES ... I know I will continue to watch as long as Klaus is the adversary. I like Klaus and find it annoying when relative newbies are trying to destroy a life style that is also the reason for why they exist.

From what I understand and I maybe wrong but with them being hybrids-not really the best of both kinds-they can be killed easier because of the fact that the thing that kill vampires kill them. They also die from the very things that kill werewolves. Kind of a catch 21 of being a hybrid of that kind I would think! Everyone all ready knows how to kill you before you ever show up.

So to clarify: This kid is a pretty good actor, so like Bill Bell used to do back in the day during the summer, is have good looking actors/actresses running around in various states of undress to hook the young audience. Hey, it worked with me as I am a loyal fan some thirty years later. MAB brought in and aged the younger set so why they aren't being used is beyond me. They need to be shown once in a while as they are the next generation on the show and they are tied to LEGACY characters.
