SOAP BYTES: Nick Plays the Cassie Card on Y&R; GH’s One Percent Club Tries to Save Port Charles

Y&R BYTES: Wednesday’s The Young and the Restless was actually sort of fun, but not exactly “must see.” Nick (Joshua Morrow) pulled out the biggest gun he had in his holster, Cassie's (Camryn Grimes) memory. He took aim at Sharon’s (Sharon Case) mental problems by tracing them all the way back to their daughter’s death.

You know those horror movies where someone shoots a zombie through the stomach and it cuts to the zombie with a giant hole in the middle of the body? That’s pretty much what Nick did to Sharon with that emotional bullet. The judge told Sharon if she wanted to stay at the top of Newman Enterprises she was going to have to submit to an inpatient psychiatric evaluation. In the meantime, he appointed Victoria (Amelia Heinle) as interim head of Newman.

What did Sharon do after the judge’s decision? She ran to Tucker (Stephen Nicholas) and the two ended up doing the slippery slide at his place. Of course Adam showed up, which provided Sharon the opportunity to glide out of Tucker’s bedroom in her panties.

One of my favorite Y&R dynamics is Adam (Michael Muhney) and Abby’s (Marcy Rylan) sibling banter. While it's obvious they loathe one another, there also seems to be a grudging respect between them.

Billy (Billy Miller) and Genevieve (Genie Francis) sparred over Victor (Eric Braeden), resulting in Billy ultimately convincing Genevieve that Victor did in fact have amnesia.

And here I thought the biggest gun Nick had in his holster was something else.

I think realistically it is correct to have Sharon replaced (at least temporarily as was done) but I certainly don't like the methods used to do so. I also think that Avery playing both sides is despicable and makes her eligible for disbarment or at least disciplinary action. Also as someone mentioned in another thread ... there is no way that Victor should be able to waltz back in after his latest stint of whatever it is going on with him (or that he should be there in the first place).

Nick did absolutely nothing wrong. He should do everything he can to get NE back from Sharon's clutches.

Sharon brought this all on herself and it all started the day she threw herself at her former father-in-law, grandfather of her children and father figure. Everything from then on has been downhill and all her own making.

I hate how they write Nick and Sharon towards each other now. It's pathetic...they are the love of each other's life. I found it hard to believe that Nick would go there with Cassie. Yeah it was a "OMG" moment for him bringing it up but I just don't buy Nicholas doing that. I don't.

They should just rename this show "Sharon the Whorish Trollop"

Sigh.

Yorla ... maybe Nick did do nothing wrong legally, but how about morally?

And ... I also don't think Sharon did throw herself at Victor. Victor is the one who initiated both marriages and would not have allowed any woman to throw herself at him. Victor had an ulterior motive initially before being sidetracked by whatever sidetracked him.
