Christel Khalil's fans have taken to the sky to show their love for The Young and the Restless starlet — who is currently locked in contract negotiations. Fans of the actress chartered a plane to fly over CBS Television City displaying a banner with the following message:

Whether you are a fan of Khalil's portrayal of Lily Winters Romalotti Ashby or not, you have to admire a soap opera fanbase as devoted as those Lane fans! When Khalil's onscreen husband Daniel Goddard (Cane) was caught up in similarly tense behind-the-scenes drama, Lane shippers flew a blimp over CBS in support of the Aussie heartthrob. I wouldn't call them loyal. More like pathetic and sad. And it was only about 6 of them that took up a collection for the airplane. It's not as if she has hundreds of fans--because she doesn't.
They should have flown the plane over the actress' HOUSE and not the studio since she's the one who is stonewalling and unwilling to negotiate.

Hope she can work it out with Y and R. I don't want another recast. Good for her fans to show TV execs that they do love their soap, regardless of how they show it. I think it started to be apparent with the cancellation of AMC and OLTL and the failures their replacements have been. CBS needs to take note....

BRAVO morons!! What an original idea LANERS! Oh wait...I remember when this was done for Daniel Goddard over a year ago. It was done for Daniel after months and months of protesting and you just managed to take away everything that was special about it for him. Is this how we will now protest everytime an actor is in danger of being let go? I mean for crying out loud she is still in contract negotiations..what a waste of money. Way to cheapen DG's fans fight, all 6 of you that came together with your funds gave no thought to what this takes away from him. Disgusted with the stupidity of this idea!

I think it's good to be a loyal fan ... but really; flying costly banner tailed airplanes around just to make a stance?
I also can't say if CK is a good actress or not because she certainly has not had any decent material to work with for a very long time. But I also thought that she was already a goner from this show. Guess some new flashes and blogs tend to be premature or overly opti/pessimistic.
