Katie to Premiere Featuring Chats With Jessica Simpson and Sheryl Crow
Katie Couric has released deets on the first month of programming for her syndicated talk show Katie, debuting Sept 10. To launch the daily chatfest, Couric will be celebrating women who are "reinventing themselves".
Guests will include: Sheryl Crow, Chelsea Handler, E L James, Heidi Klum, Jennifer Lopez, Demi Lovato, Susan Sarandon, Jessica Simpson, Sofia Vergara and Wendy Williams. Katie will also feature a rare television appearance from Barbra Streisand during its premiere month. Keep reading for what Katie will be serving up during its first two eppys!
Katie will premiere on Monday, Sept. 10 with Couric sitting down with Jessica Simpson and Sheryl Crow. The Perky One will talk with Simpson about what life is like for the entertainment and fashion mogul, now that she has welcomed her first child. They will also dish about how Simpson deals with all those nasty rumors surrounding her weight.
With Crow, Couric will go in depth about the Grammy-winning rock queen's battle with a brain tumor. Crow will also perform the Katie theme song, "This Day".
The next day, Couric will interview Aimee Copeland, the 24-year-old Georgia graduate student who lost part of her limbs this summer, due to a deadly and rare flesh-eating bacteria.

I have always liked Katie Couric and her lineup of guests sounds like some I would like to watch. That said, I'm glad "Katie" didn't murder GH and it's been saved because I would hate to not watch.

heck no! i could care less about yet another darn talk show. i dont know what it is that the powerful ppl who run these networks think we need another talk show, cooking show, fix up your home show, diy stuff. its just overkill now. thank goodness there are a few soaps left.

Kill me but as a woman I like the fact that the first month she's focusing on these types of guests. It would be great to see an over 50 segment, as so many women are discounted after they are 50 as if their life is over. Many women use 50 as a benchmark for major lifestyle changes

Too me Katie is fake and disingenuine. It's a race to be the next Oprah. Didn't Jane Pauly have a similar show that tanked? ABC Daytime is probably logging a lot of prayer time with this one.

Absolutely! I will be watching, I'm excited about her show. All the demeaning comments present & past about her show but I for one will support her show as I am for Anderson Cooper.

Well, I am a news buff so I am anxious to hear what the person who contracted that virus has to say. I also think women can do a second chapter if they have their health.
I have lost soaps and moved on to other soaps. There is no choice. The networks are going to look at bottomline. I know some of my friends who moved to movies or they watch metv which has lineup of past shows. They did not turn to the current soaps on right now. I did, but they did not.
It is what it is.

I'm so talk showed out, if I ever see another reality show or cooking show, or medical show for the rest of my life, I'll be so okay with that. I want some escapism, give me a good drama to lose myself in for an hour a day and I'll be happy.
