Ex-Y&R Star Kevin Schmidt on Soap's Future: "A Lot of Quick Two-Page Scenes, Less Screen Time For Dynasty Leads"
Exiting The Young and the Restless star Kevin Schmidt is continuing to speak out about the way he feels the CBS soap conducts business. The soon-to-be ex-Noah Newman gave a couple of bombshell quotes, during an interview with Soap Opera Fan.
On how he felt when he learned the soap was again recasting Noah:
I was hurt at first. The producers have a way of dropping bombs on the actors instead of being transparent with their decision making. The last episode I worked we bid farewell to, Eileen Davidson [Ashley Abbott McCall], which took the wind out of everyone’s sails. So much talent on Stage 41 and 43.
On what he feels the future of Y&R will look like:
A lot of quick two-page scenes and less screen time for the dynasty leads.
Do you worry Schmidt's fears for the "new" Y&R will become a reality? Sound off in the comments!
