General Hospital head writer Ron Carlivati has smartly resurrected one of the most popular and—polarizing—soap triangles in over decade, JaSam vs. Liason. While everyone—including showrunner Frank Valentini— has an opinion on who Jason Morgan should be with, the hit man's portrayer seems to think Liz and Jason have a shot! Here's what Steve Burton said in last week's ABC Soaps In Depth:

"Jason and Elizabeth do have a connection," reminds his portrayer, Steve Burton, "and people know that. If the timing is right, they could be together.

Any soap couple COULD be together so this says nothing. What I find more interesting is that both sbu and kemo feel that the jasam fans were jipped and wanted to have them happy for a little while given all the work they put in to making their romance happen on screen - they wanted that payoff for the fans.

"If the timing is right, they could be together", that is staple for any two soap characters and translates to I just go with the flow and act out what is in the script.
Popular and polarizing I know this is your opinion but the ratings sure haven't been reflecting this highly anticipated triangle. In fact the boards are more on fire with Sam getting out of this triangle and making a twosome with McBain.

I want Sam with John McBain. Easton and Monaco have real chemistry together. Burton imo is a one note actor. Monaco has been held back with lame partners on GH like Burton and Vaughn.

Jason is different with Liz than he is with Sam. He is gentler and more settled, and he even smiles when he is with her. Sam doesn't bring out anything in Jason except his robotic Borg self.
I just don't see Jason and Liz getting together because at the first hint of the return of Lucky, Liz will rush off to be with Lucky who is better off without her. I think the only time I have disliked Liz was when she undermined Lucky's marriage to Siobahn.

Liz was over Lucky back in 2007, which is why I never bought her being interested in him again whether it was GV or JJ's version of the character.
It's too bad that Guza wrote in Becky's last pregnancy, because I would have rather seen LnL555-5555 move away from each other while Lucky left town with Siobhan.

Robo Jason and Liz would be a massive turnoff. GH is getting incredibly good right now simply because Jason is being portrayed for what he is, a Dain Bramaged douche bag! Sorry Steve Burton, but Guza ruined your one dimensional character, its not YOU, its eyebrow acting Jason many dislike. If the current regime cant turn you back into a Quartermain, or something remotely tolerable, please forgo any future contract signings with GH please. The show will do just fine w/o you in the current role you have.

IMHO--and it is my opinion--Steve Burton is the ultimate Company Man. If he and Guza (and by extension Brian Frons) were still up each other's wazoo's, Burton would still be spouting their supposed "agenda."
Sbu just resigned, and I might add, after having just expressed the mildest unhappiness at the "changes" brought on by FV's regime; during interviews, and at the FCW. New producer, new contract...whatever they want.
FV is openly determined to recycle this story, and seemingly, has no compunction about riling up the fan bases. Bring it on! Let's see it in the ratings.
I do like Jason; a little less now than I did. I agree with, and laugh at TV Gourd's assessment, about SBu being devotee of the "Joey Tribianni Smell The Fart School of Acting." If this gets Liason to the finish line, then WTH, SBu's getting paid. Right?

What does sams actions during her break down have to do with liz and lucky and whether or not she was over him. if she was truly over him in 07 she wouldnt be spending 2011 begging his sorry ass to take her back. LUCCCKKKYYY pleaseeeeeee. And Sam NEVER forgets that she had a tough road and made some unfortunate choices in going the whole con route during her younger years - she always says things like who am i to judge after the things Ive done. that is one of the big differences between her and some of the other female characters on the show - she knows shes done some crappy things and she owns them and regrets them. she doesnt look down her nose as if shes better than.

she lost one child in lila, then she lost danny then she lost hope then she found out the woman that she hated and hated her was her mother and that said mother pushed her fiance out of her life and then she found out jason was lying to her and dreaming about the baby HE was having with another woman. It wasnt one loss and this go around she has a network of people around her to love her through it - her sisters her mother spixie - she didnt have that then.

Sam was not seen on TV (at least not at MY house!) having a nervous breakdown in 2007. Guza and Pratt never once wrote Sam as having a nervous breakdown, so you can't just decide she had one when it was NEVER written on the show. Of course, there is always fanfic....

we saw her jumpy, we saw her overly emotional/having wild mood swings, we saw her behaving in atypical manner, we saw her self medicating, and one could arguing messing with jasons kid was borderline suicidal. that certainly would be signs of a mental breakdown.
