More Self-Adoration From Exiting The Young and the Restless Showrunner Maria Arena Bell on Facebook

Soap Opera Digest has posted more lyrics from fired The Young and the Restless showrunner Maria Arena Bell's Facebook swan song. In it, she continues on about how much everyone loved her and how devastated they all are.
Funny, the Y&R cast has been pretty much radio silent on Twitter. Love her or hate her, but when Ri Ri's Y&R replacement, Jill Farren Phelps, was shown the door at General Hospital, much of the cast tweeted support — in their own words. As it is though, La Bell is only too happy to share how beloved she was, whether anyone else is saying it or not! Stated Bell:
"When I said my farewell today to the company of The Young and The Restless I stood between Eric Braeden [Victor], Peter Bergman [Jack], Melody Thomas Scott [Nikki] and addressed everyone. Then, spontaneously, each of them said something that was profoundly moving to me about how much they appreciated me, my work, my storytelling, my vision. The moment that will stay with me for the rest of my life was looking out at a se...a of faces, many of them in tears. And then Eric Braeden who was choking back tears himself to the point he could barely speak said that my leaving was a travesty that made no sense and that "This is the end of an era." In that moment I could feel my heart break a little... but I also felt that the commitment I had to that show... the seven day a week fifty two week a year craziness of it all was worth it... because I was part of the history of something truly great."
Sigh. Oh Maria, let's move on. I'm sure there's a fundraiser for the speckled Geese population of Pacific Palisades for you to plan. Let's leave the soap opera producing and writing to the professionals, shall we?

@stoney07 I copied and pasted it from the SOD website. I just checked and they changed it to "Jack", so I will too. I wouldn't be surprised it MAB wrote "Cliff". She was obsessed with All My Children. LOL

By reading her own words, you can quickly analyze what her major problems were. Look at how many times she uses the words "I", "me", or "mine." That is a definite indicator that she would listen to no one and does not understand the concept of collaboration, which the best artists understand inherently and know that it takes support to truly shine. Television, film, and theatre are impossible arts to create solely. Even a one-man show has a director or at least a set designer or someone running the lights. Maybe, her next venture should be visual arts- she can showcase her brilliance alone in that medium. Methinks, we see the emperor has no clothes.
Unsure that the next direction will be any better, but I am sure the company behind and in front of the cameras are pleased to be done with this regime- especially those that did not survive it. Perhaps, she should read a Steven Covey book before her next assignment.

She sounds almost mentally ill in these posts. Her grandiose sense of self is off the charts into pathological narcissism.
But it totally exemplifies why Sony absolutely did the right thing in firing her. She is so delusional of course she thought all the crap storylines and stunt casting she's been airing on this show for the past few years was great. Of course she ignored the audience, Sony, and anybody else that disagreed with her or told her her writing was crap. She seems to sincerely believe that she was some kind of genius.
She's going on and on about how much people appreciated "my work, my storytelling, my vision"? Damn, this woman needs some therapy.

* Sofia
* Sarge
* Billy
* Victoria (bring back Heather Thom)
* Kevin (unless they'd make him bad/crazy again)
* Cane
* Lily (unless they'd bring back Drucilla)
* Chelsea and her mom
* Abby

Maria if you're reading this please sit down for a moment I have something to tell you.
When it's all said and done and the history of the daytime soaps are written about you're name will always be referred to in the worst way. You will always been seen as one of the worst head writers to ever have a job in this industry. Nothing about the last 3 years of your tenure has been positive. You will never be seen as mover and shaker. A visionary. An admired talent. It will never happen. You will always be remembered as the woman who butchered The Young and the Restless. Lie to yourself all you want. We the fans know what was put on display for years now. It was uninspiring. It was generic. It should have never been allowed to go this far. You're pain over the situation is nothing compared to the joy thousands and perhaps millions of fans feel today. Good riddance. I hope you find a career in life you're good at and stick to that.

@Jamey Giddens: It is time to get Victoria Rowell on the phone and throw out the first offer. Have her come back to town as Dru seeking revenge on Phyllis.
Have Dru lure Phyllis to the Newman Cabin and then give her a Brooklyn Beat Down!

The narcissism of this woman! I swear...
She is either really, really deluded or she's smoking that shit. The squirt of sympathy I may have had for MAB is completely gone. Evaporated
She's doing herself no favors with these FB posts. Bill Bell Jr needs to seriously tell her to step away from the laptop/smart phone/tablet

I credit her with saving the show from the shithouse LML put it in when she took over. I credit her with the divine Paris remote. I credit her with giving us Billy Miller. I credit her with giving us the Marge/Kay redux. I credit her with giving us Nikki back on the bottle.
The fact remains though the stories told the last few years were not the level Y&R is used to being at and I doubt the combo of JFP and Josh will be able to do that either.
Too much Daisy, too much Sharon acting like someone else, too much Adam doing shit and not paying for it, too much of a bloated cast that needs paring down.
As I said before I have no issue Maria writing Y&R. She did have daytime writing experience before Y&R. When I started watching B&B in the early 90s, her name was in the credits. I would just like it if she was on the Y&R staff that it was with people like Kay Alden and Jack Smith with a little Trent Jones and Sally Sussman-Morina thrown in if possible.
Sigh...

This BITCH is beyond delusional. I can just picture her having a Joanna Eberhart moment when she got the boot! Lady, you threw a character into a volcano, dressed another as a chipmunk, and because you couldn't get Sheila Carter back you wrote a HACK dual twin storyline and claimed to have been inspired by Strangers on a Train. GET F*CKED! You kept claiming you were writing Sharon in a way that would empower her as a female character and you turned her into a co-dependent kleptomaniac slut! F*CK OFF! This BITCH put plenty of nails in Y&R's coffin!

I'm sorry but is JFP really an upgrade? JFP single handedly destroyed OLTL in the late 90's by chasing away Robin Strasser and Clint Riche, firing Kevin Stapleton who was the only actor to ever really work as Kevin, forcing the Rappaports down our throats and bringing on way too many actors from Another World.
In Y&R's future I see several cast members being shown the door because they don't click JFP and she will bring on a new core family that takes up way too much screen time and she will bring several of her "friends" from Another World, GH or OLTL to take up even more screen time from Y&R vets.

All the Black people will disappear when JFP comes in...so say goodbye to Neil, Sophia, Devon, Sarge, and Yo-Harmony. In terms of actors, I would also say start preparing to say goodbye to Tristan Rogers, Genie Francis, and Stephen Nichols.
Don't expect to see any older female actors come back, so enjoy Tricia Cast now. Jeanne Cooper (Kay Chancellor) will be relegated to damned near recurring status, as JFP doesn't believe in storylines for older actresses. Tracy Bregman is lucky she still has that tight face and gorgeous hair, because it may save her from getting backburned/axed.
It's going to be a bloodbath...

MAB should just stay quiet and leave with the little of respect she might still have. Somewhere on that planet. Universe. Or else.

@angrierblackerman: Not true. JFP's was at GL when they cast my beloved Amelia Marhsall as Gillian "Gilly" Grant and Monti Sharp as David Grant. In fact under her tenure the Grant family which included Gilly and Hamps mother
Vivian Grant (Petronia Paley) were also cast. Then there was Hampton Speakes (Vince Williams) and Kat Speakes(Nia Long). So under her tenure the African Americna cast grew and they had frontburner storylines.
So this does not mean that at Y&R that the blacks will be gone.

Actors crying? You don't say!
There is a school of thought that some actors might prefer 'the Devil they do Know' in MAB, with the reputation of Jill Faren Phelps looming over the ashes of soaps past, but they're actors and the most experienced know how to cry at the drop of a hat (Peter Bergman, Melody Thomas Scott and Eric Braeden being three prime examples).
This woman should harbor no illusions about her importance to this show, she has only ONE factor in common with the illustrious writers whose work would run circles around hers-- she too is now HISTORY!
I've made my peace with what Y&R has become as I have been under the belief for well over a year now that Sony wants to exit the soap production biz (as did Procter & Gamble before them) so it is no surprise that a woman with the reputation for killing shows now sits at the helm. MAB helped accelerate her own ouster with her lousy handiwork. I don't feel a bit sorry for this woman.
Maria, please take Hogan Sheffer with you when you leave.
