LIVE BLOG: The 39th Annual Daytime Emmys!

The 39th Annual Daytime Emmys are finally upon us. Who will walk away with a golden statue tonight? Who will be the best dressed? The worst dressed? All those questions and more will be answered tonight during the broadcast!
We will begin the live blog shortly, but in the meantime, drop me a line in the comments on your expectations for the night and of course your favorites to win.
**All Individual Category Wins will appear after this post""
DEAR SOAP GODS: Please don't let this be like last year's hot mess! Aaand AWAY WE GO...
We begin with Anderson Cooper and Oscar the Grouch. I'm not gonna lie y'all; Anderson Cooper is a silver fox! He could get it! Anderson gives us a little run down of what were celebrating, and Oscar is well, being a grouch. He sings a song about why he can't stand Daytime Teleivision. Anderson tells Oscar about all the great things that have happened in daytime, and he begins with Luke and Laura's wedding. Anderson goes on to introduce:
Chad Duell, Nathan Parsons, Chandler Massey and Eddie Alderson! They're presenting the award for:
OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES
We're starting wth lead actor! Very interesting.
And the Emmy Goes To...
ANTHONY GEARY from General Hospital
We'll I'm not too surprised by this one folks. Anthony's reel was amazing and he deserved it! Anthony gives a good speech and jokes about GH almost being cancelled for a sure fire ratings winner "Celebrity Boob Jobs Gone Wrong". DEAD! He pulled the shade ALL the way down on ABC!
I can't tell y'all how happy I am that I haven't heard one thing about Las Vegas, or what hotel to stay in during this broadcast!
The ladies of The Talk aroe out and I wish Aisha Tyler's dress was not! Bless Her Heart! OH LAWD, Now the ladies of The Talk are SHADING the ladies from The View. Sheryl Underwood being Elizabeth Hasselback made me laugh out loud! The ladies are here to present:
OUTSTANDING GAME SHOW HOST
And the Emmy Goes To...
TODD NEWTON from Family Game Night
Congrats to Todd! Sorry, I didn't know your show existed, but good job on winning. He gives a nice speech of the usual thank-yous.
The Talk lades also present:
OUTSTANDING GAME/AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION SHOW
And The Emmy Goes To...
JEOPARDY!
I'm a little sad Cash Cab didn't win. There are all kinds of characters that show up in the cab. The ladies of the The Talk are looking a little lost up there...kind of like on their show everyday. Whoops, did I say that?!? Anywho, the behind the scenes crew of Jeopardy accept the award.
I LOVE these black and white segments of various people involved in Daytime Television talking about all the work that goes into producing shows and why the genre should be celebrated. Nice Touch HLN!
Eric Braden is out and looking quite dapper. He begins by shouting "Dew YEW KNOW WHEW I AM?!?! I AM...""Oh, Wait! That didn't happen, only in my head. LOL! He presents the award for:
OUTSTANDING LEGAL COURTROOM PROGRAM
And The Emmy Goes To...
"LAST SHOT" WITH JUDGE GUNN
These judge shows have never appealed to me! However, that could be because I'm a baby. Everyone else doesn't look to thrilled with these awards either.
Eric's still with us and he speaks about how difficult it can be to put together a daytime drama. He presents the award for:
OUTSTANDING DRAMA SERIES WRITING TEAM
And The Emmy Goes To....
If the Young and The Restless gets this I will THROW UP!
DAYS OF OUR LIVES
We'll cut my legs and call me shorty! Days of Our Lives WON for writing. I'm happy they picked up an award! I thought General Hospital had it in the bag, but Days winning is acceptable. Oh yeah and, "EVERYBODY GIT DOWN! EVERYBODY GIT DOWN!"
Peter Bergman looking very nice comes out to present:
OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES
And The Emmy Goes To....
Uh-Oh y'all. I feel like were moving a warp speed all of a sudden!
JONATHAN JACKSON from General Hospital.
Once again, this is another award where I'm not surprised. Jonathan was simply AMAZING in his reel and story last year on General Hospital. I love how Jonathan just gave props to Anthony Geary for the award!
Sandra Lee from Semi-Homemade Cooking aka Let's Drink for an hour just gave the latest "Let's Celebrate Daytime" montage. I swear she makes a drink at the end of every show.
Rachael Ray enters the stage and I'm not sure what's going on with her dress. Who put her in that?! She presents the award for:
OUTSTANDING LIFESTYLE/CULINARY HOST
And the Emmy Goes To...
SANDRA LEE from Semi-Homemade Cooking
Congrats, Sandra for cooking and of course drinking!
Rachael also presents
OUTSTANDING CULINARY PROGRAM
And the Emmy Goes To...
BOBBY FLAY'S BARBEQUE ADDICTION
I'd be lying if I said I didn't watch all those shows. Congrats to Bobby! I wonder if he's going to say something off the wall in his speech. Y'all know he's good for that, I watched those old episodes of Iron Chef when it was translated to English. I know!
Don Diamont and his fine self comes out to present:
OUTSTANDING YOUNGER ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES
I'm not going to lie, y'all. I want Eddie Alderson to come away with this one!
And The Emmy Goes To...
CHANDLER MASSEY from Days Of Our Lives
DAYS is coming up BIG tonight! I'm pretty gutted that Eddie didn't win.
Barbara Walters is on my screen. Where is the music for 20/20?!? Yeah, right! ABC wouldn't give the license for that music. Babs is going on and on about her shows and I'm yawning. She leads us into a package for the Lifetime Achievement Award Winner tonight: Bill Geddie! Kudos to you Bill Geddie! He's a Texan! AND He's a fellow University of Texas Longhorn! HOOK EM HORNS! Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
Oh mercy! Here comes Dr. Drew. I'm so tired of seeing this man on my television I could spit nails. He presents the award for:
OUTSTANDING MORNING PROGRAM
And The Emmy Goes To...
THE TODAY SHOW
OOOOOOO!! Shelley Hennig is KILLING these other ladies with her sweetheart cut dress! GET IT GIRL!! WERK! The Younger Actress Nominess are out to present:
OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES
And The Emmy Goes To...
HEATHER TOM from The Bold and the Beautiful
GO HEATHER!!! This is defintely an upset night! I'm happy to see her win! I've been watching this woman act since I can remember. Her reel was truly great! Color me surprised that La Slezak didn't win, but I'm perfectly fine with Heather winning. I must say she is glowing!
Kim Coles is here and I'm not sure why, but I digress. She presents the award for:
OUTSTANDING TALK SHOW INFORMATIVE
And The Emmy Goes To...
THE DR. OZ SHOW
I've tried to watch that show so many times, but I can't. He kind of scares me a little bit. He looks like a less scary version of Willem Dafoe. Maybe that's just me. Anywho, Congrats to him!
This broadcast could be a little tighter. There have been dead moments, people waiting for their que to come on and those random shots of people. Tighten up, people!
Kim also presents:
OUTSTANDING TALK SHOW ENTERTAINMENT
And The Emmy Goes To...
LIVE WITH REGIS AND KELLY
I kind of wanted Ellen to win this one. Personally, her show is the most entertaining.
Jack Hanna and Debbie Gibson come on stage with some strange animals. HEAVEN ON EARTH!! Jack has one of those Giant Mutated Cock Roaches crawlin on his shirt?!! Jesus, Keep Me Near The Cross! This show has officially went to the jungle! I CAN. NOT. with that cock roach! Take Me to the River and WASH ME DOWN!!!!
All I'm saying is that I don't see the insects and animals on other award shows. And we weren't doing so bad for a while. Heavy. Doggone. Sigh.
They present the award for:
OUTSTANDING CHILDREN'S ANIMATED PROGRAM
And The Emmy Goes To...
PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR
I must admit, those penguins are pretty funny.
Jack, Debbie and the bugs are back to present another award. SWEET MERCY! There's a doggone alligator on stage. These people are outside of their mind!
OUTSTANDING PERFORMER IN A CHILDREN'S SERIES
And The Emmy Goes To...
KEVIN CLASH as ELMO from SESAME STREET
Y'all know Debbie Gibson is thinking "I'm an 80's singer! Get these animals OUT OF HERE!! Where's my microphone?!?! Where did I go wrong?"
Bethenny Frankel jokes about having to come on after a alligator. I'm not mad at cha honey. I would have acted a plum fool. She presents the award for:
AOL BEST VIRAL VIDEO
And The Award Goes To...
"A Blank Screen?!?! Is some playing a joke on me with the blank screen and the alligator right now?" The production continues to go downhill as we go on. Come on everyody, tighten up!
KIDS REACT
I haven't seen this video, but the little one in red was cute!
The cast of The Doctors are out and the one woman is WERKING her red dress! She looks FIERECE!! They present the award for:
OUTSTANDING NEW APPROACHES IN DAYTIME ENTERTAINMENT
And The Emmy Goes To...
TAKE THIS LOLLIPOP
I wanted Clarence to win this one. Even though his recaps are nowhere near new, as he did the same for The Young and the Restless for years prior, it would have been nice to see him get an award. I've never heard of "Take This Lollipop" but is it similar "To Catch A Predator". It sounds like it from the titie.
The lovey and talented Finola Hughes in a leopard print dress is now on my screen. She so beautiful y'all, but I'm not sure about her dress. She presents:
OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES
And The Emmy Goes To...
NANCY LEE GRAHN from General Hospital
NANCY WON!!! AND she's not even there, but y'all better believe she is on Twitter right now acting a fool!!! I knew Nancy was a dark horse in this one. The UPSETS just keep coming tonight!
SUSAN LUCCI!!!! La Lucci look FABOOSH as usual! Susan gives a speech about All My Children and the infamous Erica Kane!
"Don't cry because something is over, smile because it was." LOVE THIS QUOTE!
Susan invites Cameron Mathison and Erika Slezak on stage with her. I knew we weren't going to get though an Emmy show without seeing Cameron. I'd rather see Robin Strasser up there with the other two, but I digress. LA SLEZAK LOOKS AWESOME!!! I miss seeing these people on daytime! They thank us all for supporting the soaps.
"We Love You and We'll Miss You"- Cameron Mathison, Susan Lucci and Erika Slezak. Same to y'all. Same. TO. Y'ALL.
I wish we could have seen some clips of the shows, but I guess beggers can't be choosers. The show almost wasn't broadcast this year.
Lisa Rinna in a decent dress comes out to present the award for:
OUTSTANDING TALK SHOW HOST
And The Emmy Goes To...
REGIS PHILBIN AND KELLY RIPA
Why do I almost feel like Regis is getting these awards because he retired. Yeah, I said it.
The fabulous Deidre Hall has graced my screen. She looks AWESOME!!! She presents the award for:
OUTSTANDING DRAMA SERIES DIRECTING TEAM
Come on One Life!!
And The Emmy Goes To...
GENERAL HOSPITAL
Poor One Life! They really were the red headed step child of ABC. However, General Hosptial's reel was great for this category. Congrats.
What is that background music?!?! Also, WHY is it so noisy?? Sigh.
Now comes the time to recognize all those we have lost in daytime this year. RIP!
Kristian Alfonso who looks FANTASTIC in this yellow dress comes out to present:
OUTSTANDING YOUNGER ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES
And The Emmy Goes To...
CHRISTEL KHALIL from The Young and the Restless
We'll she finaly won one. I predicted she had this one in the bag. I'm a little sad Shelley didn't pull it out, but Christel has a really really good reel.
Maria Arena Bell. BHDCLZOFWEOZLCKANkl <--Sorry, y'all I temporarily went into convulstions upon seeing this woman.
La Lucci returns to the stage to present the last award of the evening:
OUTSTANDING DRAMA SERIES
I'm STILL bitter One Life to Live wasn't nominated for this one. If The Young and the Restless gets it, I. WILL. RAGE.
And The Emmy Goes To...
GENERAL HOSPITAL
I can completely accept this one. They submitted some great eps. Even though, it would have been nice to see All My Children get it.
Well folks, that's it for me. We had a decent show. I'm just happy it was on the air and actually celebrated daytime television. Let me know your thoughts about the show in the comments section. Thank y'all and goodnight!

I didn't even bother listening to that bat talk! Why would you think that this website would be shut down after what she supposedly said?!
What I should have said is that this website might crash after hearing her talk about Daytime considering all the venom that she gets on this website and then she talks about daytime. I dont think she ranks really high on this site. I think she ranks up there with Frons and Guza.

I'm really disappointed DM & DW went home empty handed, especially DW. It's damn near useless submitting yourself for Lead Actor if your name isn't Anthony Geary or Maurice Bernard.
