Which show was the Worst Soap of the Week?
According to the latest ratings GH is in last place again in several ratings categories when the week before it was in 3rd place down the board and all soaps accept B&B in most area's are down for the week of 5/14-5/18:

things aren't looking too good for GH.
Many, many, many people are sick and tired of the OLTL characters on GH. I don't even want to know the ratings of this week, where RC ruined Johnny and made GH way too campy.
And while I get that some people are excited about the OLTL characters - many of GH viewers don't know one thing about them and can not get invested in them when they keep screaming to their scenes. Todd, Tea and Starr at the PCPD was AWFUL!!!! I get why people are turning off.
Anyway Y&R once again was the worst soap - but GH comes in second for me!
Y&R has the old problem that Phyllis is on five days a week, MAB proves on a daily basis that Sharon can be even more destroyed and Daisy is still alive...
GH had major error this week. Nothing about Anthony's death made no sense. Just a few blood drops in Johnny's apartment??? He shot the guy FOUR times. And then Johnny somehow gets him through the Quartermaine security system puts him in the boathouse, where ONCE AGAIN just a few blood drops are left... Weird. Too weird. And I was once again ashamed of still watching. Thanks FV and RC for this "wonderful" experience.
Once again, the poll shows GH is regarded as the best soap, pulling in more than twice as many votes as all the others combined.
Yet the same posters continue to bitch, bitch, bitch, nitpick every detail, and spew their negativity for the rest of us to endure.
I believe Carlivati and Valentini are doing a fantastic job. The pacing of the show, the quick cuts back and forth between related scenes, stories that are more fun to watch simply because of the heightened melodrama, and yes, the addition of the OLTL characters have made GH the best it has been in years.
Ratings probably mean more than a fan poll.
Any show that rips off an instant psycho storyline which said writer and producer have already done a dozen times (and not too well) gets my vote for worst of the week.
>>Ratings probably mean more than a fan poll.<<
That's what Brian Frons used to say.
Yeah, we are to blame. Sometimes I think I can't even share what I think about GH anymore. I'm telling my honest opinion. I don't sit here and just say that the show is bad (or bitch, bitch, bitch about it) - I like to say what bothers me.
And as I said, I believe and understand that every OLTL fan is loving this crossover. BUT in the end of the day, all GH fans weren't watching OLTL. Why do these people have to be ignored or attacked for their opinion?
I think GH has become a cartoon under Ron C. And Frank V. It also looks 'cheap'. I can't describe it, but somehow the sets look cheap and not as slick as they used to. Maybe it's the filming style? Look at the old show, then look at Nightshift and you will see what I mean.
And I will stand by those rules from Douglas Marland. The mofo's who rail against it or question it have not proven me wrong yet. They just digging themselves a deeper hole trying to defend this BS.
Frons tailored his shows too much for some idea of ready made fan couples - which meant he endlessly pushed overexposed or unappealing couples on all his soaps.
Even now, GH is more about stoking fanbases than actually telling a story. John/Liz/Sam/Jason spend every week moping through bad dialogue, sleepytime performances, and boring Groundhog Day scenes, yet somehow, we're supposed to be riveted over who will end up sitting around depressed with who.
Soapjunkie-Not every fan of OLTL likes what is on GH.I miss OLTL more than I care, but I haven't watched GH consistently since Nov.Tried to watch the week of Robin's death, but I was really disappointed.Looked in on GH this week, saw Todd and Starr, and it just wasn't the same.
Nothing that I read on Perkie's posts makes me want to tune back in.I miss LLanview in Llanview, not in Port Cahrles.
How could a show which continues to feature as a main story "Will serial killer Jason learn to love the child produced by his long lost twin brother/fellow serial killer Franco raping his wife" not be the worst show of the week?
Add to that the beyond cartoonish portrayal of mental health issues and all of the laughable psychobabble sub-Freshman psych dialogue that goes along with it....
Add to that the beyond belief AZ murder (although by gosh AG and JE can ALMOST make me want to watch)
Add to that Maxie taking GH's philosophy of stand by your killer man to new heights.
Add to that weekly Starr histrionics. She has taken over the top soap acting to new and never before seen heights. Chewing scenery? No honey. She chews it, swallows it and vomits it up for us all to enjoy.
Add to that the continued weekly dominance of Fron's unholy trinity---yes the same trinity that has driven viewers away from years.
Add to that having to watch how this regime trie to merge two shows while keeping two fan bases happy.
And what's left to say about the mob stupidity. If ABC can't hire a writer who can write it, it should be scrapped.
Every show has problems. All shows, daytime and primetime, require us to believe the unbelievable. But GH asks too much of us. The writing's lazy. The dialogue's laughable. It could be campy if there weren't such a mean streak, if it weren't STILL so anti-woman. I thought this regime would be FUN. Stupid yes, but fun to watch. I'm still waiting for the fun to start. How sad it will be if GH goes out this way!
