General Hospital: Perkie's Observations
Anthony falls to the ground with a bullet hole to his side. He tells Johnny to call someone, like Steve Webber to come stitch him up. Johnny has no intention of helping his grandfather. Anthony swears he won’t tell anyone about Johnny shooting out his tires. Johnny says he’ll be dead since he will dispose of him. Someone else, namely Connie, is taking the rap for the accident.
Anthony’s confused why Connie would take the rap. Johnny explains running into Kate at the PCPD. We flashback to him telling Kate that he spoke to Sonny at Kelly’s for her. He told Sonny that Connie was real and was doing this to get Carly back. Connie emerges during the conversation and Johnny tells her to admit to shooting out Anthony’s tires so that Sonny would dump Kate for good. Connie points out that it will get her into Shadybrook. Johnny says she can pretend to get better and then go anywhere she wants once she’s out.
Kate wants to know if Connie tried to kill Anthony. Sonny explains how things played out. He tells her that he believes her and knows it wasn’t her that slept with Johnny. Sonny says she needs help and admits the gun was Connie’s. Kate can’t believe it, that she killed that family, but Sonny tells her to be strong. Sonny says they’ll figure out a way to get through this.
As Patrick is tucking Emma into bed, she asks if Liz will be her new mommy. Patrick says Liz is just a friend, who has been helping him take care of her. He promises he’s better now, but that he’ll still need the occasional help from Liz. He’ll be ok.
Tea lets McBain know that Starr was refused bail. John tells her to use some of Michael’s past against him, but Tea says Starr won’t let her. She wonders what the deal is with John and Sam. John says Sam is staying down the hall and that they’ve talked. Tea accuses him of always wanting to rescue the damsels in distress.
Tea says the same thing happened with Natalie, but John says he only rescued Sam once. He thinks he’s making things worse for her. He explains about Jason. Tea tells him to stay away from Sam, but John assures her that he’s leaving as soon as his business with Sonny is done.
Todd runs into Carly and wants Michael to stop testifying. Carly says Michael is protecting his father, but Todd claims Starr isn’t a threat to Sonny. Carly doesn’t like Todd’s veiled threat. She warns him he’ll need to go through her to get to Michael.
Todd says he has a plan to help Starr and explains his plan about Kate. He feels everyone would win, but Carly says Sonny is mad at Kate for sleeping with Johnny. Todd is sure Sonny will get over it and want to protect Kate. He feels he gave Starr the idea to go after Sonny and all of this is on him. He asks if she’s willing to forgive Johnny and Carly says she’s made her share of mistakes.
Michael stops by the PCPD to see Starr after his meeting with the DA. He’s sorry she didn’t get bail. Starr can’t believe how cold Michael is. He says he wanted her to heal, but she tried to kill his father. Starr points out that she never pulled the trigger.
Michael mentions seeing Todd and that he wasn’t happy that Michael was testifying. Starr says she has family, that they are important to her. Michael says it’s out of his hands and hopes they’ll go easy on her.
Jason explains that he had a follow up with Maruchi. Sam says Molly is going to be her Lamaze coach. Molly wants Jason to do it, since they should be together, despite the baby not being his. Sam drags Jason away. She explains that she told Molly the truth. Jason’s fine with her turning to her family. She says his family needs to know, which surprises him. Sam says the baby is a part of them and they will wonder why she’s raising it alone.
Jason wants her to look at alternatives, like adoption, since they’d still be able to have kids. Generous guy, that Jason. Sam says she thought about it, until she saw the sonogram and felt the baby move. She says it’s a part of her, that she loves and wants this baby and she can handle it even if he can’t.
Sonny tells Kate that he and Alexis will make this right. He tells Alexis that Kate can’t go back to her cell. Alexis says Kate needs a hospital. Sonny says she can’t tell the judge about Connie. Alexis says they’re the only ones who know about this.
Johnny says he didn’t know about the other car until he read it in the paper the next day. Anthony says their deaths are on his head. Johnny says it’s with him every day, especially when he sees a little girl. He can’t bring them back, but will make amends to Starr because he owes. Anthony tells him to listen to his conscience, that he’s a good man and to get him help because they’re family. Johnny says Anthony knows too much
Jason watches as Sam and Molly go to the class. Patrick puts a blanket on a sleeping Emma. Michael watches as Starr is taken away. Carly and Todd get fries from Kelly’s. Sonny watches as men with white coats take Kate away.
Johnny says “goodbye Grandpa” and shoots Anthony three times, dead.

I guess that's the end of my love affair with Johnny. I guess I have to drink the kool aid and fall madly in love with Todd, since that is clearly the message I've been given.

Loved the Emma/PATrick scene. The actress who plays Emma is absolutely adorable.

Wow, Jason, just wow. As if he would have the audacity to suggest that Sam give the baby up for adoption, how dare he? If Sam has any balls she would just get her mom to file for divorce from the selfish douche! After the way Jason has been treating Sam, I don't think I'm going to like her very much if and when she eventually decides to go back to him, which I really hope she doesn't. And as for Liz, stop pretending you're doing stuff at the nurse's station, girl go nurse someone back to health and stay the entire hell away from the douche that is Jason, he deserves to be alone. He doesn't deserve Sam or Liz.
The Michael and Starr scenes did nothing but make me go back to disliking Michael again, this guy has been taught how to be a great hypocrite by the holy trinity, he's showing no sympathy to Starr, and lets be real here, Sonny had plenty of opportunity to out-maneuver Starr and grab the gun if he wanted too. He's a mob dude and Starr is the big bad wolf..please.
Tea, Tea, Tea, I kinda wish she would've had the baby in Johns room so she could stop rubbing her stomach like her hand was attached to her belly by some magnet.
The Johnny/Anthony scenes were pretty good, I thought BrBa actually did better with the Claudia being his mom reveal than he did in these final scenes with Anthony. I'm actually going to miss Anthony, he was crazy, but funny

Ugh, could someone just beat up Michael. He is the DUMBEST character on a soap and the most self centered selfish brat there ever was on a show. Why Starr would even try and protect him is ridiculous and WHY ON EARTH DO CHARACTERS who may go to prison tell their lawyers not to do things to free them!!??!! Maxie to ALexis and now Starr to Tea.
Tea, just run Michael over the coals and let Starr be mad at you for a little bit. She'll get over it quickly!
OK, Johnny is a goner. Once it's revealed he did what he did, it will be a showdown with Sonny and Todd and a murder mystery over which one did the deed.

What does Todd and Tea coming over to GH have to do with Johnny shooting Anthony or Alexis role being potentially reduced? All four characters were featured prominently in this episode, although Alexis did a lot of reacting without lines, so I fail to see how any of these story twists are geared to make the former OLTL characters "better" than the GH characters.
I thought this episode was really good. I loved the twist of Johnny talking to Kate and then Connie to ensure Connie's cooperation. Johnny officially became a real villain with killing his grandfather. So glad that Anthony is FINALLY gone. I wonder how this will tie into Tracy and Luke's plans.
Jason is not only a douche, but the KING of douches. I did not care for Elizabeth inserting herself in the convo when Molly was rambling on. I would have rather Sam had told Molly to shut it. Molly made me want to shake her, because she had to realize that Jason was being a complete bastard to Sam, so why was she touting their love? I would have preferred Molly yelling at Jason to get it together. Hopefully, Alexis will do that when she FINALLY finds out about the rape and baby.
Todd and Carly were interesting and oozed chemistry, while Starr and Michael were depressing and made my cat sad. Loved that GH is continuing the friendship between John and Tea. Tea knows something is up with John and Sam. By the way, I have a headache from all the anvils being dropped on me regarding Sam and Tea being due around the same time. Oh dear God, here we go again!

Everyone says they want less mob, and that means getting rid of the mobsters. It's a shame that Georgie was killed off, because she would have been a perfect match for Johnny.
Jason's comment about Sam giving up the baby sealed the deal that the kid is his.
I enjoyed seeing Tea and John kicking back and yakking about his tendency to rescue damsels in distress.

Hate that they did this to Johnny to make Todd look like a better choice for Carly. I've about had it with Cartini. I'm going to keep on loving Johnny so they can cram it. And I wish Liz would become Emma's new mommy. That would make the rest of this insane story telling watchable for me. Liz should be with Patty. Ew is a bore that she had one lousy date with.

I don't think this necessarily makes Johnny a goner...yet. He can make the body disappear, and whenever it's found, he can buy several MORE months by framing Tracy and Luke for Anthony's murder. Even after that, I'm sure he won't be the first character to get away with murder.
In the meantime, he's going to become Starr's benefactor to assuage his guilt over causing the deaths of Hope and Cole. Starr's got to get good and attached to him so that when the truth comes out, she can be suitably devastated. That takes time.
Hell, the way some fans are talking, GH will be cancelled LONG before any of that happens!

How does Johnny get a grown man who's dead weight out of his penthouse apartment, down the elevator, out through the lobby and past the door man, all without being seen by at least one person?
Way to ruin a really great character if this all turns out to be true!!
After Jason suggested to Sam that she should give the baby away to make Jason feel better, I'm done with him!!! The man doesn't deserve Sam or any woman for that matter and I really hope that if Sam ends up taking the schmuck back she makes him grovel at her feet and apologize profusely!!!
Loved the Patrick and Emman scenes!! Brooklyn is delightful as Emma and her scenes with JT always seems so real to me. JT is going to make a great father one of these days! And its the first time we've actually seen Emma's bedroom and its really cute.
All in all I thought it was a good hour.

Ulgh... jinkies.... I haven't been a fan of Jason for the longest time now, and I've been mighty happy that the bus is finally running his ass over and over again after all these years of his golden halo being the only source of light in PC.... but I never expected that jackass to say to Sam that she should give up her child for adoption. Jason knows how Sam feels about being adopted by rotten people, he knows how long she longed for a baby, he knows how she grieved for her daughter who died at birth, and how she's had problems conceiving before because she was shot by his enemy when she was in his arms, and he has the nerve to say to her they can adopt this baby out and then try to have one of "theirs"? That's just all shades of douchebaggery. And I'm sorry, but he shouldn't have made that little comment about how now that Molly knows it's public knowledge.... please fool, you blabbed it to both Sonny and Liz without Sam's consent, and yet Sam's not supposed to tell anyone. Moron.
And Johnny.... ulgh. I did not want him to be the shooter.
McBain sure gets up close and personal with women. I remember his love of saving damsels in distress from OLTL, but I don't remember him being quite so comfortable around other women before. Tea took her shoes off and put her feet up today and when he went to sit down he just moved them onto his lap... now I feel let down because I was beginning to think that John was feeling something with Sam and I want her away from Jason so badly. I get this gut feeling that they're going to put Jason and Sam back together after a few more months of agony on her part.
And I'm going to say it, I was really frigging glad that Liz did not rush over to Jason today and comfort him again after he said that to Sam.

In order to push Todd/Carly, they had to make Johnny become Ron Carlivati's latest generic psycho. This also gave story to Starr (it was a terribly written story which has made many fans loathe Starr, but that's "Cartini" for you I guess). Part of it is also down to wanting to make fans love Sonny, and part of it is just cheap shock value (like the equally poorly told stories about Ronnie, and on OLTL, Eli, Ross, Brody, and many others), but I do think part of it is down to wanting to make fans love the OLTL transplants.

I am so mad at Ron and Frank right now.
I can't believe what they are doing right now, destroying Johnny's character this way. This is ridiculous, Johnny would never have had the time and the capacity (considering how drunk he was) to leave Carly in the middle of the night and go try to kill Anthony and frame poor little Sonny.
I agree with all the people saying that it looks like they were kind of forced to keep BB because of the huge reaction to his potential leaving and they are making him pay in a way by ruining his character. It reminds me a lot of what was done to Liz/BH once they rehired her.
I still love my Johnny and will always will. I will loathe Sonny and Todd even more because I also don't drink the Kool Aid.
There is no way the Johnny I have watched during more than 4 years could have done everything Johnny did in the past two months thanks to Cartini. It is obvious they want to whitewash their faves Sonny and Todd. And Johnny was so liked and was an obstacle to this whitewashing. They had to throw someone under the bus so that Todd and Sonny despite their long list of crimes would appear to be "better persons". BIG MISTAKE. I always thought I would stop watching the day BB or NLG were leaving. The way CarTini are ruining this show and spitting on the history of some characters I have a strong feeling I may give up after 28 years even sooner becaus it makes me sick to my stomach to see what they have done of Johnny who was one of the best characters of this show

I've been on Jason's side throughout this because I was able to see his point of view. But today was a HUGE WTF moment. I get that he is your mortal enemy's child but to even suggest that Sam give the baby up for adoption stopped me in my tracks. So not cool and I would have been ok with Sam laying you out. I haven't posted in a century here (since I moved to Europe I think?) because I wanted to have caught up with all the GH episodes before posting. But, like an addict, I have kept reading Perkie's and I am aware of what's happening on the show even if I am about 20 episodes late.
First I want to say: Raven, you will always be my "soul sister" as far as our Johnny is concerned
! I so agree with your posts and to see Dante the rotten cop win on Johnny will make me find the strength to give up GH for good.
What Carlivati and Valentini are doing to Johnny is pathetic. Their agenda to make Sonny be the "good one" again and Todd "the right guy" for Carly is disgusting and makes me want to vomit.
Johnny was always a great character and so much better than Todd and Sonny. But he was an obstacle for the pimping of those two Cartini's pets apparently. Carly and Johnny were getting a lot of good buzz which made it difficult for a potential Todd/Carly pairing. Johnny always appeared the better and brighter person when confronted to Sonny. So he had to be removed. You can't kill him because the fans are furious? No problem! Let's pin every crime possible that happened in PC and a circle of a 1000 miles around it for the past 10 years on Johnny!!!!!

It is technically impossible for Johnny to have tried to kill Anthony that night while he was with Carly and so drunk. And I don't believe that he would have chosen to wake up and go after Anthony that night if he didn't kill him once he learned that Anthony was his grandfather. Johnny was mas at Sonny that night NOT ANTHONY (I know I just saw the episodes last week!!!). Johnny would have tried to go kill Sonny if he wanted to kill someone and NOT ANTHONY.

I'm sorry ...but I have always been a Johnny fan also...but unlike a lot of you...I truly don't see how the character of Johnny can be saved now.
1) Raping a mentally unstable woman, all in the name of revenge.
2) Blaming an attempted murder charge, which resulted in the accidental death of two other innocents... on the very same sick woman ...totally unacceptable and horrendous.
3) Shooting and killing your grandfather...no matter how evil, is once again unacceptable and horrible.
4) Selling organs on the black market....
I am sorry...but there is no way the character of Johnny is going to rise above all of this. He has to be a goner.
As for Jason and what he said to Sam...I truly can't believe he would tell her to put the baby up for adoption. He knows how much Sam has always wanted a baby, and how hard it was on her after she lost Baby Girl McCall. I was truly shocked that Cartini went there...I don't know how Sam could ever forgive him for saying this to her...How real and true can their love be? She was raped... If she had cheated on him....that would be one thing....but none of this is her fault...what kind of man is he? Once again...that would have been the last straw for me...Sam should have slapped him, and walked away... and she should never look back.
Carly and Todd have awesome chemistry...I think they would be fantastic together.
Loved Patrick and Emma...we need more scenes with Grandma Anna also.

Good for you Jason! Good for you for trying to talk to your wife about options. I know everyone's bitching you out for not being sensitive enough to poor put upon Sam, but the fact is, you are being honest about YOUR feelings. Why shouldn't your feelings matter? Why should you LIE and accept a situation when your doubts are so strong?
Sam herself said she had considered putting Franco's baby up for adoption. She considered it all by herself. She never talked to you about her thoughts on this matter. She entertained the idea and she made a decision by herself that she was keeping the child. So, if she can consider adoption, despite having wanted a baby for so long herself, why wouldn't you be allowed to consider the same option?
You are still a douche though. Then again, so is Sam.
Edit addition - I am at a complete loss regarding the turn of events for Johnny. Did not see it coming. I hope this isn't the end for Johnny as I enjoy his character very much. Brandon was superb yesterday. I would miss him.

GHFan777, we don't say that Johnny can be saved, obviously if this isn't enough to crucify him definitively, Johnny will probably become a pedophile or kidnap and torture Monica and he has probably kidnapped Robin... As he has suddenly become the new evil of PC, I expect more anytime soon...
We just say that a lot of us see the obvious agenda of Cartini and don't buy it because we know who Johnny is. Unlike Cartini we have watched him on our screen day after day since September 2007. We know who the real Johnny is and what they are turning Johnny to makes us hate Cartini (as well as Sonny and Todd) instead of Johnny, that's all we are saying.
However when you see a monster like Todd sold as if he was that great man... let me just laugh. And Sonny redeemed ? Sorry, on the floor laughing.

I HATE CarTini more than ever. They totally destroyed OLTL (for me) and now they are destroying GH.
This is the crap that everyone was so excited for when CarTini were hired?!?
I think ABC has a monetarily lucrative pact with them to completely ruin these soaps so they (ABC) can take them off the air because of poor ratings.

I think the character could be saved - this is the writer who had a leading man who laughed at his niece's rape, raped a brain damaged woman, and made fun of her gang rape. And Todd himself did many many horrible things, loving every minute of it, with the only redemption being, "Oh by the way, did we tell you that his father abused him." Then he became the biggest victim on the show, no matter what he did to people afterwards or beforehand.
But I doubt Johnny will be saved, because the show has to find a way to make Todd and Sonny viable.

I agree with (almost) everyone here. The "I throw Johnny under the bus" and do it again and again and again in order to get Sonny and Todd as the new "good guys" of PC compared with the evil twin of Johnny Cartini has so stupidly provided us with is just an horrible move. Clearly Cartini have just paid attention to the big lines of GH (here are the leading guys, Sonny and Jason and their aggressive poodle Carly, they are the Unholy Trinity but they are the good guys and everybody in their family is sacred but nobody else is authorized to overshadow anyone of them) and their huge desire to bring their favorites to GH. They don't care about how the characters have been built and about their history on the show.
What they did to Johnny is not just writing a character OOC for a so obvious highlighted agenda, it is also a proof of how lazy they are in terms of writing. There is no way Johnny can be the shooter the way that night was filmed and proposed to us. And even Dante said nobody except Kate, SOnny and Maxie was on the tapes of Crimson. So it is just bad bad writing as if suddenly CarTini needed Johnny to be the culprit no matter what.
Can't say how pissed off I am right now... I hope karma will be a bitch...
And BTW, Brandon Barash was just phenomenal yesterday. To waste that potential when he could become easily a lead with the talent, charisma and good looks he has? But I bet CarTini are already thinking of bringing that awful John-Paul Lavoisier instead?

"Don't change a core character. You can certainly give them edges they didn't have before, or give them a logical reason to change their behavior. But when the audience says, "He would never do that," then you have failed."
