Jesus take the wheel. A 43-year-old man has been sentenced to 12 years in the pokey for breaking into the home of one of daytime's most beloved heroines! According to New York Daily News, career criminal William Pelzer was sent up the river Friday in New York, for having allegedly broken into the Chelsea apartment of Ellen Parker.

Parker portrayed Guiding Light's Mauren Bauer from 1986–93. She turned up for several appearances as Mo's ghost after the character was shockingly killed off by then-executive producer Jill Farren Phelps. From the article:

He’d only been out of prison for three months and was on parole when he woke up the soap star in the middle of the night last August. She started screaming, and he fled, carrying nothing.

Peltzer plead not guilty and stated he didn't commit the crime, but the judge wasn't trying to hear it. We're just glad Parker is safe and sound!

Wow, that sounds scary! Glad it ended safely for her.

I'm still SMH at Mo Bauer being killed off. I know it provided some powerful Emmy award winning drama but GL was just off balance without that moral center. Ed, after lingering for awhile left Springfield and soon Rick seemed to be the lone Bauer. I don't know why so many soaps allowed the families that fans came to love for so many years just get decimated that way.

Has anyone seen Ellen Parker in anything recently? Such a talented actress. I remember seeing a DVD of her in a play with Meryl Streep and Swoosie Kurtz and she truly held her own! Hopefully, she is still acting.

Boy, Tamara Tunie got fleeced by an accountant handling her finances...
Somebody breaks into Ellen Parker's home.
And neither actress was treated the best by P&G.

I've decided to blame P&G.

Ellen Parker was such a treasure on Guiding Light; she and Beverlee McKinsey were two of my fave actresses back then. If memory serves Parker was fired just a couple of months after McKinsey quit so it was a double blow; that show was never the same after they killed Maureen off. With the exception of Santa Barbara, it seems everything JFP touched after she basically destroyed(GL, General Hospital).
