Since he was ROBBED of a Daytime Emmy for his spectacular work on GL, I hope he can finally get some mainstream award recognition for his work on the stage! He's always been a class act and a great singer/actor. Totally underrated.

I had the pleasure of seeing Ron on stage here in St. Louis a couple of years ago when he was in "Titanic: The Musical" at an 11,000 seat outdoor theatre called The Muny in St. Louis' crown jewel, Forest Park. Towards the end of the show, he had a duet with the woman who played his wife and OMG, his voice was so booming and I was blown away. I started all of the clapping even before the last note was sung. He's that good! So, congrats to him on his Tony Award nom!

Congratulations to Mr Raines. He was one of the veteran actors on GL who made that show watchable at the end.I am so glad his peers on Broadway recognize his talents.Mainstream media really needs to get past some insipid storylines on soaps and realize there are fantastic actors on these shows.

I am just going to go out on the limb and say that the posting of topics on this blog is all about time and not about who sends it in a message post first. Just a thought.

Big congrats to Ron Raines!!! See, God definitely opens a window! I wonder if he was still on Guiding Light if he would have been able to have time to do that play. But I miss him on Guiding Light, and I miss GL period! He definitely should have won a Daytime Emmy for playing Alan.

Hi All....Congrats to Ron Raines! He was always great as Alan and I'm thrilled the Broadway community has recognized him. Hopefully he and Judith Light (I hope I didn't steal someone's thunder by mentioning her nom) both win!

Jamey, I love this site and love to follow you on Twitter (barefeethusky), so I've got your back! Thanks so much for all the hard work you and everyone at Daytime Confidential do for us.

I deleted all posts concerning anything other than Ron's nomination. His achievement should not be marred by foolishness, nor should his fans have to endure it. If it pops up again, the person's account will be deleted.

Congratulations to Ron Raines!! He is an awesome actor and singer and I am so happy that he was nominated. I loved him as Alan Spaulding on Guiding Light and he should have won many daytime emmys.

Big congrats go to Ron Raines (a fine actor/singer & a class act gentleman!) for his super-terrific work as Ben Stone in Follies! I absolutely loved seeing Ron's performance in the revival of this 1971 Stephen Sondheim musical when I visited New York, New York in mid-January 2012.

BTW, anyone who lives in or is planning to visit Los Angeles, California in the next few weeks can see Ron continue his wonderful work in Follies! when this same great musical begins performances at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre beginning Thursday, May 3, 2012 & is scheduled to run through Saturday, June 9, 2012. Please Do Not Miss It! Congrats Again To Ron! Party Party

Ron Raines is such a magnificent performer, it's about time he snagged a Tony.

I wish James Earl Jones and Judith Light the best of luck as well.
