"He cares so much about being good - not just himself, but collectively. He's been here for 20 plus years, but he still comes in every day and asks, 'How can I make this the best it can be?'"

This recast is so ridculous. He looks older than Noah. Why couldn't TPTB left him young and developed a bullying story or bad seed story. He could have picked on Summer or Delia.A young Kyle could have messed with Nikki or Phyllis or anyone like Starr use to.There are pre-teen stories if you just think.

TPTB are really building this up to be some dynamic storyline. I have heard other viewers complain that parents rarely seem to interact with their offspring in any meaningful way these days. Having heard the details of this, I hope it doesn't turn out to be like Paul Williams and Ricky Williams, almost no interaction in the end. I don't trust the writers anymore.

This new Kyle is good looking for sure but I agree with marybee50. Garrett Ryan seemed like a competent enough young actor to tackle the stories mentioned by you. The only other soap I now watch is Coronation Street. They do hire young actors at a young age and if they work out they stay and actually grow up on set. It is interesting and they do have a good stable of young actors who seem to be able to adapt to changing story lines.
(Coronation Street also quickly resolves long term story lines in days or weeks rather than in months and years.)

Well, technically shouldn't Kyle be around Abby's age and
Marcy Rylan looks about 35 so I guess it's a good recast!
I thought the old preteen Kyle was a cutie!

I'm glad that people are happy with new Kyle. He seems like a nice guy, and looks like Bergman. He reminds me of Tim Hutton in 'Ordinary People'. Should be a 'plus'.

Y&R used to be better at this. That all changed around the time Maria became head writer. They started with Adam, who is about the same age as Nicholas is, and then they messed up a complete generation by SORASing Noah, Abby and now Kyle as the story leads them. With Summer and Fen being SOARASed into teens I guess they'll look like to be at the same age with Noah.^^

Actually Adam was born after Colleen onscreen so he should have been around her age. Hell I'm not positive but Adam might have even been born after Lily onscreen, but Chance was born before Lily, Adam, and Colleen and who knows how old that child is.....
I know MAB and Peter will roll their eyes at this but where in the hell is Keemo Abbott? I mean seriously.............after 15 years away from the canvas I think it's way past time for them to address this.

LOL ... It's such a mess!!! Reminds me of DAYS and EJ being the same age as Sami and Lucas.^^
ITA!!!! They wouldn't even have to make him reappear ... but couldn't they at least mention him??? He is Jack's son after all! And I remember Jack's love for Luan. I don't think he wouldn't stay in contact with their son somehow. -.-

Of course Peter is the best. I knew that when I was 6 years old and he was tearing it up as Dr. Cliff Warner.

Let's hope that they stay true to Kyle's good nature that they displayed during the time he was 12 just last year. I don't want to see a repeat of Adam, who grew up with a saint for a mother and never knew his evil as the devil dad til after his formative years, or Ricky, who grew up way from his father but his demented angle against Phyllis makes no sense at all other than her being his boss and him acting like a spoiled brat!
From what is put out there he won't carry a grudge against his dad but have reservations about Nikki. I just wish the kid's mom died because she was pure evil ... unlike Phyllis, whose dark deeds will come back to haunt her this spring.
I just don't want to see him sticking it to Jack by working for Victor and Victor being smug about it.

As usual MAB has screwed up another project. These children will soon be older than their parents. This dumbass woman should move on to something that she might possibly know how to do, as it definitely is not to write a decent story.

yojoromo -- Too true about being younger than their parents. MAB is almost that way with Phyllis and Daniel. They are almost like equals sometimes on the screen. Nick seems like Noah's older brother, and let's face it, Noah is more mature than his parents.
I'm hoping that Kyle gets it on with the the ladies, hopefully Eden (no need for body painting this time).
I hope that he starts spiking Nikki's drinks, getting her hooked on that Big V. AbsoLut or Sobieski. Or maybe trying to convince her she is crazy or something.

Most of the parents on this show (well, the ones who get any airtime) seem to act like a bunch of horny teenagers. Even a few...ahem, grandparents too. This show does not seem to know where the boundaries are. Appropriate on Y&R, what's that?

And with Kyle back, I hope they make him as much of a cad as his dad Jack was decades ago when Jack was a very young man

I hate that they keep SORASing all these kids, but, man, does he look like Peter Bergman. If anyone is supposed to be his son it's him.
BY THE WAY, Tedew, I've watched Coronation Street for years and, you're riight, they let the kids be kids and grow up on screen (I.e. Amy, Simon, Rosie, David, Sophie, etc.)
. I've just switched to FiOs so I've lost Corrie, but I'll follow it online .

THAT's EFFIN' GROSS. She's old enough to be his great-grandmother in soap world.
I'm ready for her to leave. I've never understood why they decided to recast her. Hopefully, this storyline with Noah will tie up some lose ends.
