The View Co-Hosts Debate Tracking Devices For Children Amid Etan Patz Case Being Reopened
By Jamey Giddens on April 24, 2012

Should parents have their children surgically implanted with tracking devices at birth? That was a recent Hot Topic on ABC Daytime's The View. The debate began amid the case of Etan Patz, the first missing child to have his face put on a milk carton, being reopened 30 years after he disappeared.

Should parents have their children surgically implanted with tracking devices at birth? That was a recent Hot Topic on ABC Daytime's The View. The debate began amid the case of Etan Patz, the first missing child to have his face put on a milk carton, being reopened 30 years after he disappeared.
Moderator Whoopi Goldberg pointed out that it's already commonplace for people to insert tracking devices in their pets and all four women seemed to agree it wouldn't be a bad idea to do so with kids! Watch the segment after the jump, then share your views in the comments!

Whoopi is right about if we do this for our pets we should be able to track down our kids. I remember when that boy was taken. I was a kid myself, and in those days alot of kids were "kidnapped". Which makes something like that on your mind a horrible way to live. To have it disolve when they are 18?? Why? If I want to find my kid at 17 I'd still want to find him at 18 or older if he has disappeared.

We do it for our dogs and cats, so it must be a BRILLIANT IDEA!!
Let's ignore the fact that it is not even SAFE for our animals. They are getting quickly growing cancers around the site of the implant THAT ARE KILLING THEM.

rebecca- I dont have anything in my cat cause she is an indoor cat. Even tho accidents can happen I opted out of doing it for her. But I didnt know that the implants are killing them. Where did you hear that? I wonder why then, would they do that.

giogio, I was also a kid when Etan was taken, and I remember thinking at the time I wish I could have a tracking device in me! I've never felt any different.
As for them causing cancer, you can find as many studies and research to say that they don't cause cancer as those that do. Everything causes cancer in somebody. Phones cause cancer, according to some people. I just googled it and found all sorts of claims on all sides (mostly on websites I've never heard of before...probably with vested interests on both sides).

First of all, nothing like will dissolve on it's own after 18 years--that's just part of the 'conditioning' to desensitize you and your family getting chipped.
Why are you so worried about losing your child? Maybe, it's bad parenting or you need to spend more time as a family?
Within the next year Processor speeds will be as fast as the human brain, within the next decade people will be able to 'upload' or 'copy' their consciousness.
Getting chipped is only going to allow them to track and control you. Do some research and look up Trans-humanism. Man and machine, man and beast. All for the sake of being a faster, stronger....better Human. Look at Music Videos, Movies, TV and Commercials...they are showing you what's coming.

visitor101- I was in the conversation, wasnt I? I would imagine anyone with kids who worry about someone abducting them would be insulted if someone wondered if they were worried due to bad parenting.

Not worth the trouble, giogio. That poster is a useless troll and a conspiracy theorist who is probably out on a day pass!
I'm being insulting for our amusement because I know it doesn't bother him/her. The aluminum hat keeps all of the unwelcome thoughts out.

Um, say what RebeccaJ?? Please let me know where you're getting your info from b/c that is ridic!
Animals get microchips all the time (as a way to ID them if they get lost) and I haven't heard anything about cancer from them.
