They sure are not playing her that way. But I hope they play her 5 days a week until the end.

OMG--This will be way too sad for me to watch for the next few weeks!

I watched today's episode and the tears are already there.Renee is just going to be at her best as always.I'm atleast glad this was her choice, not TPTB.Renee will be missed, but best wishes in her retirement from soaps.

I watched today's episode and was left completely unaffected. I love Renee Jones but this story is lame. I didn't appreciate Faux-Celeste and Mocha-Jay Leno in those scenes.

It's funny because some of the character interaction on this show is pretty good. But the show itself feels very bland and anemic. And I love Renee Jones and Lexie but I kind of agree. I think not having Real Celeste is truly a missing piece. But I'm hoping things get better and James Reynolds a very under appreciated actor on this show gets some good material out of it.

Yes, I will miss Rene, but it was HER decision to leave.

Hopefully, James Reynolds will get some great scenes of grief,
mixed with rage at all of Stefano's past "tricks", that made
Lexi's life so complicated & put so much pressure on her.

she'll be back when the new writers take over, with a new actress.

Not feeling the "Lean on Me" Celeste with Lexie under these circumstances. -_-

@GHFan4-now: Yes this is not working. Bad casting move. If you could not have "darrrr'ling" Celeste back then they should done this another way.

LOL@"Lean On Me"-Celeste! If Valarie Pettiford was available and interested in playing the part (the mother of a woman older then her in real-life!)I think she could have been good. Still, I think Tanya Boyd is surprisingly irreplaceable in the role!

It's still not clear to me if killing off the character was Renee's or the writers' idea. Either way I hate it.

@david46208 and @soapbaby I concur with you both. As a result of Lean on Me and her recent histrionics, the storyline feels hallow and a bit of a waste. When she shouted no, no, no! yesterday, I shook my head shouting the same.

Mr. Clark would have been ashamed, to say the least. lol

Never thought I'd type this, lol, but I agree with The_Moustache! Wink

They should not kill off this character just b/c the actress no longer wishes to act! She said in her exit interview that the writers asked her if she minded being "killed off" and she said no, as long as it was done right. As a fan of the show & for the fans, she SHOULD have said that they shouldn't kill off the character, instead have her leave town, so if they wish to bring Lexie back home to Salem they can easily do so without the historonics of a back-from-the-dead storyline.
Plus, how many children does Stefano have to lose? I mean, I know he's got a 100 spare ones, but still!
