SOAP BYTES: Should Tom Hardy Jr. Return to General Hospital to Romance Starr? How Pissed Can Stefano Get on Days of Our Lives?
GH BYTES: Since Michael (Chad Duell) is so bland with Starr (Kristen Alderson), who else could enter the picture to create a steamier triangle? The topic has been plaguing me so much I’ve started thinking about it any time I see Michael with Starr. Matt would seem like a possible choice. He’s in the same age range, but does he have what’s needed to give the triangle some spark? . Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) comes to mind, but I’m not sure a grieving mother could handle his spastic behavior. As I mentioned in another SOAP BYTES, I think Johnny (Brandon Barash) would add some sizzle to the story. However, it may not be a good idea to mess with Johnny and Carly's (Laura Wright) chemistry. What about off screen characters, such as a recast Dillon Quartermaine? What about a drastically SORASED Spencer Cassadine?
I’ve been discussing the topic with my Daytime Confidential podcast co-host Regan Cellura. She suggested Dr. Tom Hardy (Matt Ashford) and Dr. Simone Ravelle Hardy’s (Felecia M. Bell) son Tommy Hardy. He’d be about 23 without SORASing. Matt Ashford is no longer at Days of Our Lives and Tom Hardy was once involved with the returning Felicia (Kristina Wagner). It could work on multiple levels. Just don’t cast Barret Helms in the role. He didn't work on One Life to Live and there is no reason to believe he'd work with Alderson on GH.
Poor Kate (Kelly Sullivan), she can’t even spend a night with Sonny without Connie popping up. The DID storyline has provided Sullivan a great opportunity for showcasing her acting chops.I can’t wait to see what happens if Kate is committed against her will.
Steven Webber (Scott Reeves) is an interesting character in scenes with Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) or Heather (Robin Mattson). Opposite anyone else and he’s a bit of a drag lately.
Elizabeth: ”Thanks again for lunch.”
Ewen (Nathin Butler): “No worries, I still owe you that dessert.”
Elizabeth: ”Just let me know when.”
Ewen: “Sure you won’t mind dating a murderer?”
Ewen: “Sorry that didn’t come out right.”
Elizabeth: “I certainly hope not.”
Was that a Freudian slip on Ewen's part?
Ewen goes on to explain Matt (Jason Cook) and Spinelli's (Bradford Anderson) conspiracy theory. However, I still can’t help wondering if Ewen mentioning being a murderer might have greater meaning.
Sonny (Maurice Benard) and John (Michael Easton) have untapped scene partner chemistry. It sort of reminds me of how much more interesting John was when he was sharing scenes with David Vickers (Tuc Watkins).
John mentioned my beloved Natalie (Melissa Archer)! If John is going to be a viable love interest for Sam (Kelly Monaco), he needs to break up with Natalie, preferrably onscreen!
As Jamey Giddens mentioned on our recent podcast, there needs to be a scene where Natalie slaps the hell out of Sam. John can’t leave Natalie for another woman without someone getting hit. It just wouldn’t be right.
John to Sam: “What happens if the baby is Franco’s?”
That is a very good question.
