THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS SUCKS!!!!!!!!

The powers that be over there do not care to read what anyone is saying on these blogs are to pay attention to the ratings. People have been dwindling for this show for years now and it's not going to get any better. I just wish that the likes of Victor or Nikki or Jack just said, enough. Either the writing changes or we walk.

They have the power.

Maybe we should start a campaign to get just that to happen. Get Jeanne Cooper, Melody Thomas Scott, Eric Braeden, and Peter Bergen to walk into head nut case who is the showrunner and demand a return to the days of glory, the days of old or come contract time they will all walk. And they will let it be known NOW that's the plan.

The show can continue with one of them gone, 2 maybe. But all 4. I don't think it would be worth watching. Each is the glue to the respective families that are part of and drive the show.

Although I have enjoyed the last couples of shows,it is due mostly to the acting,not the writing.Nikki and Jill great;I like Chelsea and Adam;Daniel is my fave right now.

But the show just keeps going in circles.Nick/Phyllis/Sharon;Kevin being eternally stupid;Victor for revenge against everybody yet the person he most needs to take revenge against is himself,for he usually is the one who starts all the trauma.Lauren now has a gun,and two more weddings for people who only met.It makes me sigh too.

As I said before,the only thing that makes this show watchable is the majority of fine acting.Please find some stories we care about also.

What does the name "Genaura" stand for? I know it's Genavive, but what does the rest of the squish name stand for?

Two more marriages? On this show that means nothing...they will be over before you know it.

Phyllis needs therapy. She still jumps to the wrong conclusion every time she sees an innocent act between two people and then does something rehensible that she eventually regrets. I like Phyllis, but she drives me freaking crazy!

Sallyv, Genaura is the contraction of Genie's Geneveve (Y&R) and Genie's Laura (GH)

Ludicrous as it may seem ... Sharon is now a business executive and working along side Nick. Phyllis ... just get over your silly childish schoolgirl jealousies. It is just destructive to yourself and all around you when you pout and rage and use your "powers" to ill effect.

Only problem is Phyllis has always been this way.With Daniel's father,with Jack,and Nick.She is so self-centered,that probably the only way she will change is thru therapy like sallyv mentioned.Sometimes her obessions are good,some times redundant.Either except Nick as he is or get on with your life.

More weddings?!?! Boring. No doubt by 2 couples we rarely see or even care about. That's MAB's Y&R for you!!!

And Angelina...well there simply are no words for torturing us with this creation. Giving the middle finger in MAB's face would certainly start the healing process.

i have liked the past couple of episodes because they showed the vets and some nice corporate storylines. i do like 'genaura' now. i can tolerate her. however when i see the previes, and it's angelina screaming with some kevin scenes thrown in, i just get angry! LOL...i want to see more of "sarge' . i actually like the character and darnell is doing a good job so far. as for tracy bregman, i am with jamey. she is being written so weak and cowardly, fearing for this timid little girl. i don't buy it. though i stink thing tracey bregman is the most gorgeous woman on daytime!!!

Once again the 'spoilers' amount to about six pounds of fresh manure... or to put it another way... a steaming pile of shit!
MAB and her legion of doom have yet again shown that they have the combined imaginations of a group of retarded lab rats! Two weddings... Whoo hoo! Now there's a game changer for you.
Victor is putting one over on Genevieve... Boy, we all didn't see that one coming did we?
It just amazes the hell out of me how they can turn previously intelligent female characters into complete dumbasses whenever they come into contact with Der Fuerher!
Genevieve is now a moron, Nikki keeps coming back for more, Sharon... well Sharon is just too sad a wretch for words, and Ashley (as another of his ex-Fraus) has become a total shrew on steroids.
Then we have Phyllis... She went from the character who didn't give a rat's ass about what anyone thought or who she pissed on... she screwed over Michael, stole Nick from Sharon, slept with whoever she wanted and gave as good as she got etc, etc. Then she was turned from a 'lovable' sociopath into a neurotic, pathological sociopath, then a paranoid bitch, then into a baby stealer, then into a crone with 'Daddy issues' and finally she's just a pathetic shell of her former self who mumbles about "Why are these bad things happening to poor little me?" as she keeps rolling along, bumping into walls and watching the sky fall in on her!
Sorry you ginger-headed tool, but as someone pointed out before... Karma is a cruel and vengeful bitch!
Maybe someone should check her purse for a crack pipe 'cause that crazy bitch acts more like a deranged junkie than Harmony probably ever did!
But I digress... In the end, we can all see another murder 'mystery' on the horizon followed by a protracted 'search' for the killer of Daisy... with all the false clues that are already being laid, with the end result being a convoluted, drawn out bunch of crap that will take months to resolve to no one's satisfaction.
Oy 'freakin' vey, no wonder the ratings are falling like a stone... it's crap, will be crap as long as MAB is in charge and you can candy coat it as much as you want... the writers are all a bunch of useless hacks who shouldn't be writing anything only than their resignations!!!

Melody Thomas Scott - Who would have thought that MTS would be literally carrying Y&R on her shoulders almost by herself? Her acting is flawless, she looks great, and Nikki is becoming a well-rounded character. Good job, MTS, I take back almost everything I have posted about you in the last 5 years.

I reserved judgement after "The Black Night" mention. But, by the time I made my way to the Chelsea, for lack of a better word, "teaser", I was throwing my hands up in disgust. I'm supposed to give a crap about Chelsea's dad? And I'm not even going to touch the double wedding tidbit.

This show is fading...fading fast...

Oh come on now, you can't really be serious, right??? That was just your way of making a joke now wasn't it?? 'Cause if it wasn't then, uhhh, what exactly IS the color of the sky in your world hey mon??
I'm sorry, but like I said earlier, you can candy coat it any way you want. In the end this show is like the Titanic heading for that iceberg -- and shouting, "Iceberg... Dead ahead!" just as you're running into that great big hunk of frozen water still won't save the ship from going down.
And no amount of wishing and hoping and pretending that MTS is somehow saving Y&R, or making it more palatable to watch is going to make this piece of crap smell any better!

Howard -- Put it in a 30-year perspective. Once you do, Y&R isn't all that bad right now. Looks like MAB is finally getting rid of Angelina. The Fishers are getting some major story-work with Chelsea being Jeffrey's daughter. That should be good. Lauren's gun is finally going to go off later this month, which hopefully will good for a month or two of story-line.

Ricky is the big plus addition to the cast in the last 4 months. Have heard nothing but good about him from girl and guy viewers who want him to be their next 'play'-mate. (Got my 17-yr old daughter & her friends to stop thinking of boring 40-yr old Cane for a minute or two). The new Kyle looks to be a good addition to the canvas. I'm hoping that once Chelsea becomes un-preggers, we can see her in some lingerie or maybe taking a swim in the Chancellor, Newman, or Abbott pool.

The eye candy is definitely getting better on the Y&R.

HowardBeale ... even though I really do agree with your comments (especially with regard to that hapless annoying wreck of a Phyllis), I do see some lights on the horizon. Yes, I know we are going to have to put up with another endless search for a killer who we know is never a main cast member (are we still sure that Nikki actually did kill Diane?) and that will be a very big bore. I actually think, though, that it would be interesting to have a main cast member be the one to off Daisy.

We shall see how things progress I suppose.

Bartman - However, if we have to put up with another 6 months of Angelina and her dad as Jersey Shore rejects, then I am going to be upset. You know I am no great fan of MAB and The Hamner Gang.

But there are a lot of people who have an idealized view of Y&R in the 80s and 90s. There are some things that basically 'saved' Y&R from the doldrums. Sheila Carter for 3 yrs on Y&R, then 2 more on B&B, (crossing her over 3 times a year). Heather Tom and Scott Reeves for the whole decade. The Winters Clan. The Romance of Nick and Sharon (although I found it to be boring).

But some bad things, too.

The Crazees - The Bladeson Twins and Ashley. The marriages of Nikki that ended with a 'crazy' reveal, like Veronica Landers. Phyllis doing whatever in the #ell she wanted for 6 years (killing Sasha and running over Paul), then marrying Jack Abbott. The whole Tricia/Megan/Tony story-line that lasted all of 12-18 months, culminating in crazee Tricia shooting Ryan.

The best years of Y&R were the LML years.
