OWN Cans The Rosie Show
OWN announced today the cable network is bidding farewell to The Rosie Show, after just five months. The talk show was met with high expectations, as former talk show titan Oprah Winfrey and the controversial Rosie O'Donnell teamed up for the venture. Instead, the chatfest averaged a sluggish 200,000 viewers since it debuted in October 2011.

OWN: OPRAH WINFREY NETWORK ANNOUNCES THE FINALE OF ‘THE ROSIE SHOW’
Los Angeles – OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network announced today “The Rosie Show,” the daily talk show hosted by Emmy Award-winning actress and comedian Rosie O’Donnell, will tape its final show on Tuesday, March 20, and the final episode will air on Friday, March 30 (7-8 p.m. ET/PT).
“I thank Rosie from the bottom of my heart for joining me on this journey. She has been an incredible partner, working to deliver the best possible show every single day,” said Oprah Winfrey. “As I have learned in the last 15 months, a new network launch is always a challenge and ratings grow over time as you continue to gather an audience. I’m grateful to Rosie and the dedicated Rosie Show team for giving it their all.”
“I loved working with Oprah in the amazing city of Chicago,” said Rosie O’Donnell. “I was welcomed with open arms and will never forget the kindness of all I encountered. It was a great year for me - I wish the show was able to attract more viewers - but it did not. So I am headed back to my home in New York - with gratitude. On we go!”
“The Rosie Show” (Monday-Fridays, 7 p.m. ET/PT) debuted on OWN October 10, 2011 and was on the air for five months. “The Rosie Show” is produced by Harpo Studios in association KidRo Productions, Inc. and SantaBu Productions.
