General Hospital: Perkie's Observations
Sam is thrilled that Patrick will do the procedure and thanks him. Patrick says he’s doing it for Robin. Sam says he can’t tell Jason the truth about Robin, it will kill him. That is a concept Patrick isn’t all that sad about. Patrick says Robin is dead because of Jason and now Sam wants him to protect Jason’s feelings.
Jason dreams of Robin and asks if she was hurt in the explosion. She says she’s not feeling any pain. Jason tells her he wants a life with Sam and the baby. Ghost Robin morphs into Monica, who’s sitting at Jason’s bedside when he wakes up.
Star comes to. She gets out of the car to go to Cole’s side to try and get him out. However, the door is stuck and the car is on an embankment. Cole comes to, as Star is trying to open his door. He thinks his leg is broken and can’t move. She tells him not to rock the car, while she gets help.
Dante still can’t believe Sonny jumped in front of the bullet for him, but according to Lulu, Daddy loves him. Lulu’s still horrified at the Robin news. She thinks she should go and tell Maxie. Dante assures her that’s what Mac is doing and they just need to pray. Lulu wonders how he can believe in God after this. Dante says God brought him back to her tonight.
Helena declares an eye for an eye; she’ll take Ethan in exchange for Stavros. Helena’s thrilled that her plan to have Luke’s son fall in love with her daughter worked so well. Irina will be Ethan’s downfall. Irina tells her mother that she doesn’t want anything to do with this plan, but Helena says Irina will be the one to kill Ethan.
Mac shows up at Maxie’s apartment, looking for her, but finds Spinelli. He tells Spin that Robin has died. Spin offers his condolences, claiming Robin was loved by all. Mac says Maxie will be devastated. He can’t wait for Maxie any longer and tells Spinelli to be the one to tell Maxie. Mac says Spin is her friend and she’ll need him.
Matt wakes up, hung over at the hotel, with Maxie beside him. He reminds her that they’ve broken up. Maxie swears she made a mistake and she’s sorry. Matt’s upset that she went after Liz’s job. Maxie says again that Liz has plenty of people to help her. Matt says they are not okay, that they’re done. Maxie wants to know what it will take to get back into his good graces. He says to call Monica and get Liz job back.
Patrick goes into Jason’s room and tells him Robin is gone, which confuses Jason. Sam jumps in and declares Robin to have gone home to rest. Patrick says Robin worked tirelessly for Jason and hopes Jason appreciates everything she gave up. Jason assures Patrick that he does appreciate all that Robin has done. Patrick says if Jason wants to repay Robin, he should make his life worth saving. After Patrick leaves, Monica thinks she should call in Dr. Maruchi for the surgery. Sam insists it be Patrick since he’s Jason’s surgeon. Jason doesn’t understand their concern, since Robin said it was a minor surgery.
Michael shows up at Dante’s and tells him that Sonny left the hospital. Dante figures his father is going after Anthony and decides to go find him. Michael offers to go with, figuring it will take both of them to talk Sonny down. After they leave, Lulu calls Lucky. She tells him about Robin and says Luke would want to know. She also tries to get a hold of Ethan.
Maxie leaves a voice message on Monica’s machine, claiming to have made up the stuff about Liz and asks her to give Liz her job back. Matt tells her he’s tired of her games, and how she tried to make him jealous with Spinelli. Maxie asks what she can do and he tells her to get Spin to move out. Matt admits that he’s missed her, so Maxie says she’ll tell Spinelli in person. After Maxie leaves, Matt has a memory of being drunk on the boat the night Lisa died.
Irina balks at shooting Ethan, but eventually agrees to it. Helena hands her the gun. Irina turns in on Helena and shoots, only to find that Helena has loaded it with blanks. It was a test. Helena tells her henchmen to kill Irina, which the henchman does. Ethan is shocked Helena would kill her own daughter. Helena wonders if Luke is shocked, but he’s just disgusted that she would murder her own child.
Helena says that Stavros deserves vengeance. With Lucky gone, it leaves Ethan. She tells Ethan to say his goodbyes. Ethan tells Luke that it was a pleasure getting to know him and having a family. Luke says Ethan is the most like him and he’s done him proud.
Anthony comes to and gets out of his car. Star yells at him to help her get Cole and the baby out. He says he has to leave, since someone is after him. Starr accuses him of causing the accident. He says it was caused by the person who shot out his tires and blames Sonny. He lets her use his cell phone to call help and then takes off running when he hears a car coming.
Star runs back to the car, but trips and falls. Dante and Michael come across them. Dante chases after Anthony. Starr tells Michael to help get the other two out of the car, which Michael promises to do. Michael can’t get the door open either and explains to Dante that the car continues to rock. Michael says he has to get them out, since he promised a now unconscious Starr that he would. Dante calls it in while Michael goes back to the car, but the car slips over the edge.
Maxie gets to the apartment, ready to talk to Spinelli. He says he has something important to say to her first.
Sam tells Jason she’ll be waiting for him after the surgery. They declare their love for each other before he’s taken away. Sam thanks Patrick for doing the surgery. He says not to thank him just yet. Patrick plays with his wedding ring and Ghost Robin appears behind him. Patrick says please forgive me and Ghost Robin disappears.

Seeing Ghost Robin was sadder than anything I’ve seen yet. My heart is broken.
Is it just me, or was Maxie’s hair looking really, really good. All I kept thinking was how I’d love for my hair to look that good after a day at work and a night at a benefit event.
Hate that Spinelli’s going to be the one to break the news to Maxie. It should totally be a Mac/Maxie moment without the mob lackey involved.
Are they now making it that Matt’s the one that killed Lisa on the boat? What was that memory about?
Why on earth would Star get out of the car and not drag either or both of those people out with her? If I couldn’t drag my husband out because his leg was pinned, I sure as heck would have dragged my kid out rather than go all the way around the car and try to open another door.
I give Anthony credit for letting her use his phone and for pointing the finger at Sonny (that made me laugh) but he lost whatever brownie points by running off and leaving Star there alone. Douche.
Good bye Cassandra-Irena-Lady In White-most boring character in the history of the show. You will not be missed.

Oh when Ghost Robin appeared I was shocked there for a moment. I haven't expected that. Not at all and in the end when she had this scene with Patrick ... how sad.
(
Matt's flashback was confusing. Oh they should just leave it at this. I really hope we never hear of the name Lisa Niles again and I'll be fine with it.
So Starr is getting out of the car, but leaves her daughter on the back seat? Why didn't she tell her to get to her or something? Well at least we got this Michael/Starr scene that lets us see where this is going to take us.
And then Helena shot her own daughter! You know I thought I couldn't love the evilness that Helena Cassadine is even more, but GH proved me wrong today. Wonderful!!!!
I just wanted this story to be over, but I CAN'T BELIEVE that the hair model, who was always put in white clothes was really Helena's daughter. I'd love if they would have made her Stefan's daughter, who was kept hidden from Helena until he died. Or some other explanation where I could believe that she really is a Cassadine. Who knows maybe Helena used even one of Laura's eggs to impregnate another woman, who then gives birth to someone that resembles Laura in order to destroy the Spencers. That even would explain why she know is going after Ethan since Lucky always was her favorite - and Luke AND Laura's son. Oh well ... maybe I shouldn't bother.
I just still need some explanation. :
Don't like that Spinelli is going to be the one who tells Maxie either.
It should have been Mac. Can't police business just wait??? Can't we just have one episode were all of Robin's friends and family are aloud to mourn her death???

My kudos of the day goes to Helena, for having one of her henchmen rid us all of the boring Irina. I gotta admit, the rest of it I wasn't really interested in. I've been over Luke's character since all the crap that spewed out of his mouth in the months after killing Jake, so the possibility of him losing Ethan doesn't bother me. I'd be more concerned about Lucky losing a half brother than Luke losing a son. Plus, Ethan's potential kind of fizzled out completely for me when they got rid of LA.
Oh Matt, I just don't understand him at all. He's over Maxie, he's not over Maxie.... and yet still he hasn't admitted his part in their relationship woes by being so into Liz. I think maybe Matt needs to cut back on the drinking, maybe they gave Lulu's lush storyline to him, if I remember right, Noah was an alcoholic.
I don't know what the writers were thinking by having Mac have Spinelli tell Maxie about Robin. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. There is nothing from his job that can't wait until after he has told his daughter that Robin has died, especially since when Georgie died, Maxie ended up in the hospital. This should've been a great scene for JJY. Honestly, it's a big mistake. I'm sure we'll have a nice scene between Maxie and Spin, but no I'm sorry I don't agree with it.... it's just WRONG! I will however say that it was refreshing to see Mac be nice to Spin today.
Seeing ghost/otherwordly Robin today made me sad also, but KMc looked real pretty in her scenes. I didn't like that she appeared in Jason's dream before appearing to her husband, but whatever.

I thought it was a good episode in general. Like everybody else I'm very anxious for them to explain how in the world that Irena can be Helena's daughter. I'm glad she's history but please explain this nonsense! Yes Starr should've reached in and pulled out Hope most definitely...that part was not realistic...all I'm saying is they better not have Hope go over that railing and be presumed dead! I understand they need to let Cole go for plot reasons but please don't kill another innocent kid!

I think we're about to find out that Matt either killed Lisa (who cares!) or he saw the person that finally got rid of the whack job.
Starr should have pulled Hope out of the car and then tried to help Cole. I guess we needed two strong men to help out the little woman!
AZ's comment about Sonny just started a war between Corinthos and Manning families.
Wow, Helena wasted no time in getting rid of her "fake" daughter! I love Helena! She owns her craziness.
I have not cared about Luke in years.

It's been forever since I've posted or watched GH and I happen to see today's episode..I think I like Star & Michael together...
I also don't believe that Robin is really dead because all she went thru to get away from Patrick just 3 weeks ago, this was the perfect opportunity to disappear without a trace. Too bad the Jackal can't work his magic and check the security cameras...lol

I agree with Perkie, I don't like the fact that it isn't Mac telling Maxie about Robin, hell if it was Lulu I would prefer that over Spinelli. This may sound sick and twisted but I'm thrilled that this whole Lady in white thing is done, let her go Ethan, let her go! Seeing ghost Robin made me tear, and when Jason said see you on the otherside to Robin I got chills and thought it was foreshadowing that he too would die, but that's just wishful thinking. I hope Patrick doesn't mess up his career by killing Jason on the table.
The back and forth between Maxie and Matt is annoying, split them up or make it work, I'm over it now..
Thanks Perkie!

Pretty good episode. I actually liked Nathan Parson's acting toward the end of the episode, specifically, his words at the end to Luke. Only thing with that part of today's episode that I found weird. Helena was about to shoot Ethan, Luke screamed at the top of his lungs, went to commercial, and upon return, they're both tied up. Did I miss something. Oh, good riddance LIW!!!!
As far as Starr not getting her daughter out of the backseat. I did first think that it was unrealistic. But then I'm thinking that the car was unstable so if Starr had did too much moving, it may have caused the car to fall. Plus I think when she first got out, she was assuming that she would be able to go around and open the back door.
I got chills at the end when Patrick apologized to Robin's ghost. Its like he's about to do something to Jason in surgery.

I did not really like today's episode. Something was just totally different, and not in a good way. I felt there was a bit of overacting going on in some scenes. So glad to see KMc beside Jason and Patrick. Her touching Patrick at the end was so sad. I hope we see more of her "ghost."
Good riddance to Cassandra!
Anthony is a trip. He made sure to drop Sonny's name to Starr. How exactly did she pass out? She just had a twisted ankle or something. One minute she is awake talking, the next not. Maybe it is a delayed reaction to the stress.
I did not like the Jasam scenes either much. I feel Sam is doing all the work for Jason, although I guess he is the patient. Where is Edward at? He usually would have appeared to check on Jason.
Here goes Michael making promises to someone again. Why does he do this to himself, especially when he knows he can't deal with the letdown once that promise is not fullfilled. For the sake of Michael's sanity, and this little girl that I don't know, please let her live. She can be friends with Emma.

I have to admit that this was my least favorite of all the episodes so far since RC's official takeover. I wasn't even remotely interested in Dante/Lulu rambling about the same things over and over.
I feel terrible for Constance Towers being thrown in to salvage this horrible storyline at the last second. Its beyond repair, but I did love how quickly she ordered the LIW shot. I have to admit I was scared for a minute when I thought Helena was shot. I almost threw something through my tv. Tony Geary was really over the top and it was completely unnecessary. No one even shot at Ethan and he let out that ridiculous scream? Huh? Ethan willing to die for the LIW already? Please. If I was Ethan I would say shoot the bitch and let us go. I thought Tony Geary and Nathan Parsons were really good in their "goodbye" scenes. NP has been terrible for a long time, but those scenes were emotional knowing that he's leaving the show. I won't miss Ethan, he's a totally wasted character. But still enjoyable scenes. I can't wait for Holly!
I thought Kristen Alderson was really good in Starr's scenes. I agree that she probably didn't want to reach back and grab Hope risking the car falling. And she didn't know the doors were jammed. I can't say that I'm upset that Cole and Hope went over the edge. Cole sucks and I'm glad he's gone and Hope was more of an accessory than a child. Sorry. I'm shocked that Hope wasn't saved. I thought Michael and Starr had good chemistry in that quick scene, but we will see how that plays out. I thought AZ was great and totally in character. I was shocked he let Starr use his phone at all.
Maxie and Matt = ZZZ...just let Jason Cook go to Days of Our Lives where he belongs. He's worthless to GH. I liked Matt and Maxie when it was KS. I can't even remotely enjoy them when its Jen Lilley. I do like Matt with Elizabeth, but they aren't going there so just cut your losses. I guess he'll be going to jail for killing Lisa? That flashback was odd.
Somehow the Spinelli and Mac scene had me tearing up a little up. Mac hates Spinelli's guts, but he knows he's a good guy. I think BA has been amazing lately. Spinelli is completely hit or miss for me. I hate him and I love him, it changes nearly every episode. I like that Spinelli is going to be the one to tell Maxie. I think Mac's comment about how he couldn't help Maxie with Georgie because he was grieving too much himself. It seems like it hasn't even hit Mac yet. He's running around town doing so much. Yes, I thought JJY shined in his scenes with FH and I hope he does get worthy material from now on, but I love how they're spreading the grief scenes out so much over the canvas.
Ghost Robin!! I hope we will be seeing a lot of her in the coming week or two. I already miss Robin and I think her "Ghost" scenes could give everyone some closure. At least everyone who hated the way Robin ended. I can't wait for all the goodbye scenes! Kimberly McCullough didn't really have a chance to shine at all during Robin's exit because it had to be a freak accident. Robin is so not dead though. I guess people are just imagining her like Tracy with Alan?
While the episode didn't blow me away I LOVE how every single storyline ends with a major cliffhanger every day. It actually makes me want to see what's going to happen. I didn't give a damn about the Maxie/Matt scenes but I can't wait for the Maxie/Spinelli scenes. I wanted to sleep through the Dante/Lulu scenes, but I can't wait to see what is going on with Dante/Michael/Starr. That's good work from RC. The best part of the entire show for me was Jason Thompson at the end. When he apologized with Robin's ghost right there it was amazing! Is Patrick going to intentionally screw up the surgery to kill Jason? That would be AWESOME. At least it appears that he's going to intentionally flub it, but we know Jason isn't going to die. Can't wait to see what happens.

I think the whole reason Starr couldn't save Hope is so that Michael can emerge at the beginning of today's show with Hope in his arms. He was able to get to her, but didn't have time to help Cole. That will hasten Starr falling for Michael.

Kudos to the new regime for picking up the pace. At least when something is stupid, it doesn't stay on my screen very long.
Starr: how I want to like her. I was enjoying her scenes before the crash. I was enjoying her AFTER the crash too. Then: not only do the writers have her trip, she just up and goes unconscious so that "hero" Michael can come to the rescue. Better writers can make heroes out of male characters without having to make all of the female characters helpless victims in need of saving. Dear writers: BEFORE attempting to make Michael a hero, you must first get him off of Sonny's jockstrap.
I did like the nice touch of showing AZ as the coward he is. He's a rat running off to save himself.
The Lady in White saga is coming to an end (I hope). Helena's being written as a cartoon character. I laughed out loud at the stupidity of it all. Just when I think her being a twenty year old's mother was the most stupid thing going, let the knife and gun play begin. Dear writers: Don't you know we are all numb to the overused gunshot? Try something else to get our attention. Character development perhaps?
I liked Robin's "ghost" appearing. We all know this girl ain't dead but I'll accept her ghost for a while. But first appearing to Jason? It's always got to be about Jason. Sam, starting this week off as just as unlikable as she ended last week, still just can't get that this whole thing isn't about saving her killer husband. The writers just won't allow Sam to have a soul or have any sympathy for the people Jason has hurt. I've always liked Sam but now...just tired of her stand by her man routine. And confused as to why Alexis wouldn't be in contact with Sam. Alexis humanizes Sam for me. I think Sam may be in need of a gentle motherly slap to the face so she can see the bigger picture. But damn that good mobster lovin' on GH. It just makes the women of Port Charles so one track and predictable and boring.
Ready for Jason to wake up with a soul. If he doesn't, I have no more time and energy for the character. I can only filll my soap opera world with so many serial killers. On that note: Isn't AZ time in Port Charles done with yet? May some woman, any woman, help AZ meet his demise very soon. And I want to see every gruesome sick moment of his death, just as we did when he killed Siobhan. And I want him to be the helpless victim, so helpless that he can't even yell for help, just like we had to endure when he sadistically killed Siobhan. When will misogyny come to an end on GH?
And kudos to the regime for bringing Maxie down several notches. Maxie's dialogue has helped the performance be much for likable. When Maxie isn't fixated on Liz being a "whore" (well if that ain't the pot calling the kettle black), I like her. Here's hoping the faux-loss of her "cousin" (when did that family relationship become true?) will bring a more mature and developed side of Maxie out for us to enjoy.
Love seeing Mac. Super hot after all these years.
Matt only wearing a towel the entire episode: I approve.
Re-visiting Lisa's murder: What's the point? No one cares.
Dante + Lulu: there was no point to any of their screen time. The two most IQ challenged characters on the show and they were given nothing to do. Lulu needs a story. FAST. Dante needs a brain, even faster.
A better start to the week than last. Still lots of room for improvement. But I'm still giving it a chance.

Luke Spencer and Starr Manning are two of my least favorite soap characters, so them both appearing in one episode did not bode well for me. I used to like them but over the last five years both characters have become insufferable.
Tony Geary's acting vacillates between very good and excruciatingly bad, but all the while it's completely self-indulgent, serving himself and not the story. TG approved and promoted Luke Spencer's trashing of Luke and Laura and revels in the "Emmy-baiting" scenes and barely registering when on screen and not on vacation.
Starr Manning is a terribly overexposed character who never rises to the potential of being the child of Todd and Blair, two great characters. Her HEA on OLTL being jettisoned to be on GH is ridiculous. She's best as a supporting character to her parents' stories (not the other way around.)
The death of Dr. Robin Scorpio has been tertiary to the mob-nonsense, which included Sonny shot and drawing guns on people in their homes before getting into a high-speed car chase. Jason’s latest medical woe is tired because we all know he’s going to survive, yet Sam badgers Patrick about operating on him although Robin died in an explosion five minutes earlier.
Mac giving Spinelli the responsibility of telling Maxie that Robin is dead is insulting.
RC inherited a real mess and at least has picked up the pace to tie up some of the stories, but none of the stories work and everything needs to be completely overhauled with a focus on the hospital and not the mob. I’ll wait out to see Todd and Blair hit Port Charles but I remember much of OLTL was not very good while there were definite moments of brilliance. The last six months were mainly excellent but RC’s entire run as headwriter was not very good.

I don't get Starr not taking her daughter out of the back seat when she got out of the car. She was able to get out and walk safely around the car, so why couldn't her daughter? Even if her thought was that it was safer on the other side, once she knew that the only other door (it was a 2 door car) was jammed she should have gone back around and gotten her daughter out. Already the character seems to be an airhead. I didn't watch OLTL, so I don't know if she's always written this way or if this is something new...but I don't like it.
I also don't like how she was running around and screaming about her boyfriend being in the car and then adding on that her daughter was stuck too. When Michael arrived she actually said "my boyfriend" twice before mentioning her daughter. It's a little thing, but as a mom, it just didn't ring true to me.
Loved Patrick once again. I hope he does something in the surgery to change Jason. I honestly wouldn't even care if Jason was killed during surgery. SB always tweets that he wants to move to TN full-time, so if he chose to go now I wouldn't shed a tear.
I also think it's wrong to have Spinelli tell Maxie about Robin. I wanted to see Mac there for her and vice versa.

@ js3557 - First and foremost I have to state that your posts in Friday's thread were eloquent and direct. I enjoy reading what you have to say.
As a longtime OLTL viewer, Starr started out as a mischievous but determined spitfire of a child on the early 2000's. By 2007, a teenaged Starr became a silly, vapid, ignorant twit who was obsessed with being deflowered. She became a teenage mother who was rarely shown with her daughter Hope but she did talk about her often. Starr was frontburnered and IMO, she should have been used as a supporting character. In the last six months of OLTL and the return of Roger Howarth as Todd made her tolerable only because she supported his character's story and showed some of her original spunk. On OLTL, she received two happily ever afters where she was reunited wih her child's father and moved to LA with her best friends to start a new career as a pop singer. (and for all of our sakes she will not sing on GH.) The actress, while a cute child actor did not transition to young lead actress very well at all, IMO. I do not find her a compelling actress and her character is saddled with too much life before the age of twenty. And now, I assume, a dead child and boyfriend.

Mipeony I totally agree I really feel way less for Ethan ever since they wrote of lexi. Im assuming NP is going to leave with Holly but I would much prefer lexi to come back and for him to run off with her on an adventure. He has improved greatly as an actor but they surrounded it way to often with characters i just didnt give a fig about - luke, justus's cousin (I cant even remember her name - the gal that went to charlies angels) and then the liw. When they had him sharing scenes with lucky kristina and molly I found him far more interesting.
Im still baffled with the thought of starr not pulling her daughter from the car. I hope michael saved that little girl. I guess now starr and michael will blame sonny when we dont even know if there was another car or whether anthony was just that paranoid after the scene at the mansion. What we do know is that anthony could have gone over to the car and tried to help and didnt and the bull about being afraid that sonny was coming - hello if he wasnt going to kill you in front of tracy, he certainly isnt going to shoot you in front of some teenaged girl. Anthony knew that and still he refused to help. I just find him vile - bw is a great actor - but I can never accept anthony and tracy as a romantic couple for exactly that reason.
Disappointed with how they are writing jason. He needs to step it up after the surgery.
Im over matt. Maxie has a lot of flaws but I have no clue why she might want matt.
I can see why mac is overwhelmed with the thought of telling maxie about robin. He knows her pain is going to be unimaginable and he is already on overload. there is no one that knows maxie better than spinelli and no one that she trusts more. No matter what their romantic relationship might be, he still is her essential person.
Im BEYOND annoyed with lulu. I get that he husband needs to decompress with her, but the second he started talking about going out with michael she should have started getting dressed to go to maxies. PERIOD. There is no cold that would have kept me from going to check on my best friend knowing she just lost her sister. WTH. Shes getting as selfish as her father.
Lukes pain - who cares. I dont want ethan to die, but I almost want him to think he did. Maybe then he might appreciate how awful some of the things he said and did with respect to lucky and liz truly were. Maybe then we might see some remorse for his actions....maybe....but even then, why do I doubt it.

Tuesday...up the slope...can RC get us to the top of another hill?...off we
go...
Make a decision. Keep Matt and Maxie together or seperate them. One or the other. I've not gotten the sense these two are anything beyond "Friends
with Extended/Glorified Benefits". They both have "conditions" for each other before they'll give in to one another. Although she seems to be having to give up and/or do more to secure him: Boot Spinelli and get Liz's job back. Doesn't sound like an even handed trade off. As for going back to the boat? Oy! Please don't make us...
I'm glad Spinelli made no mention of Robin and her meds research for the enforcer. I'm also glad they had Mac and him focus on Robin's passing and it's coming affect on Maxie. "How am I gonna tell her?" "You'll find a way..." "...She'll need you too." Well, yes, but I honestly believe Mac
should be the one telling Maxie about her cousin. Yes, Spinelli was there for her after Georgie's death, but I think enough time has passed that Maxie's less inclined to push Mac away. Still, it was sweet to not see Mac
chewing the geek out for a change...
I don't expect that Patrick will ever look at the Morgan's with anything other than contempt. "Robin is dead and you want me to keep a secret...
protect his feelings. You don't stop, do you?" In that respect, I have to admire Sam's sheer tenacity shielding her husband from the anger of the man
who can cure or kill him. LC played Monica's unease with enough restraint that you saw the concern on her face but her voice didn't betray that unease. I really thought Patrick was going to drop the bomb about Robin. He took both women to the edge and dangled them. Cruel to be sure, but I can't say I wouldn't have done the same thing. Just because I could...
I fuzzed up seeing KMc's Robin as benevolent spirit. The scene with JT caught me in a way that so easily illustrates the "being led by our better angels" conflict that Patrick is going through. The play of his fingers, rubbing his wedding ring, looking after his patient as he's wheeled to the OR, face set, grim. His "better angel" sliding her hand over his wrist to connect with that same ring. He's aware of her but he's not "hearing" her.
"Please forgive me." A prayer for what he might do? My guess is she'll be
"assisting" him during surgery...
Another play of hands, on the table at the loft. She's his life line as he
talks out his conflicted feelings about the bully. "...he loves you."
"...It's complicated." A dry laugh from L: "Tell me about it. My dad...I used to think...he didn't care." "And now?" "...he would give his life.." Another common thread that connects them as much as their marriage vows, taking advantage of her "complicated", painful dealings with her own parental units. Their thoughts turn to D's earlier life questions, touching her ironic views about his job vs Robin's "perfectly safe" career which brings up her concern for Maxie. He assures her Mac is on his way, that they should "...say a prayer..." "How can you believe...? "How can you not? He brought me home..." "...that doesn't work for me..." Part
wishful, part dismissive, not judgemental. They curl against each other drawing comfort, strength and she let's out a rueful observation about her father and Robin's "getting along" , both less than fully involved in their daughter's lives. The knock at the door, Jr. announcing the bully is gone. Reverie over. "...I owe him... (Oh, jeepers! Please, you don't!) I'm sorry." "...you helped me chase my dad..." A little joke: "...you owe me."
"...keeping score?" "I'll let you know when we're even." A tender kiss and a long look before he's out the door. "...be back soon." "You better." Calling Lucky about Robin.(At least he's still around in the script!)
Calling Ethan, too. Who doesn't pick up...
Funny how these two have managed to get themselves into a pickle. To say nothing of dear Cassandra, Irina or whatever her name is, who has been nothing more than a means to a deadly vintage Cassadine end. I'm not convinced she's her daughter. We might not ever find out since since
Helena shoots her in cold blood in front of Luke and Ethan.I did enjoy these thre working together, CT regally lording over a seemingly defeated AG and NP. She's right in her observation of the Spencer patriarch:
"...you truly do have a soft spot for family, making this...a...fitting end." Hmm. The "re-birth" of Luke as "family man"? I won't hold my breath...
I know Papa Z is ruthless. At least he let her use his cell phone. But to run off and not help her when she's got a child stuck in her wrecked car?
For soap purposes, okay, you have to go there. And, yeah, he ultimately is a coward and a villain. One whose time is probably running out...
Jr. hasn't learned how not to make a promise he can't keep. Uh-oh! Did his brother get to him in time? Tune in for our next episode...
Enjoy your evening, all...
