Guiding Light's Unforgettable Reva Shayne Gets Her Own Soap Classics DVD Collection!

She's the only television character in history to drive off a bridge — in a fit of postpartum psychosis; become a ghost; an Amish farmer; a clone; an amnesiac, island princess; a time-traveling Nazi fighter and a breast cancer survivor, who learns her husband cheated with her baby sister. Whew, and to think, all of that happened after she baptized herself the Slut of Springfield!
Soap Classics has released Guiding Light — The Reva Shayne Collection, featuring five, classic episodes starring multiple Daytime Emmy winner Kim Zimmer as notorious, Tulsa, Oklahoma-bred she-devil, Reva Shayne.
Episode 1 is Reva's first episode from 1983, where the ruthless Alan Spaulding (Chris Bernau) enlists her help in breaking up the relationship of Springfield society queen Vanessa Chamberlain (Maeve Kinkead) and Reva's oil man, ex-hubby Billy Lewis (Jordan Clarke).
Episode 2 features the the day after the unforgettable scene from 1984, where the brazen, tempestuous Reva, fed up with the games being played by her paralyzed true love—and stepson at the time—Joshua "Bud" Lewis (Robert Newman), jumps into the fountain at the country club and declares herself the Slut of Springfield. She coulda just cut the tires on his wheelchair and stayed dry!
Episode 3 has our Reva Darling so distraught after giving birth to baby boy Shayne, she drives her little red car plum off a bridge, to her watery "death" in 1990!
Episode 4 has Reva in 2004, coming to the realization that Jonathan Randall (Tom Pelphrey), the son she bore the late Prince Richard (Bradley Cole) of the tropical principality of San Cristobal, had grown up to be every bit the destructive mess his mother was.
Episode 5 showcases the starcrossed lovers, Reva and Josh, at yet another crossroads in one of their many, many, many marriages.
As with the previous Soap Classics collections, We Love Soaps' Roger Newcomb was instrumental in bringing this effort to fruition. Order your copy of Guiding Light — The Reva Shayne Collection here for just $12.95!

If anyone gets a chance to check with Kim Zimmer, it would be interesting to know if there are any plans for her to do The Rosie Show. Rosie is now doing one-on-one interviews without an audience, and they are much more interesting and intimate interviews.
I think the last we heard, Rosie's people cancelled the show she was supposed to be on last fall, but it was said at the time that she would be rescheduled. I wonder if they were just "saying" that.

I ordered mine on Friday when I got the email that the DVD was out! It was such a nice surprise! If you join their mailing list they'll let you know what DVDs are out.
I have bought the Guiding Light first set and now the Reva episodes and I will buy any other GL dvds they put out. I can't wait to get more of those! I hope all the GL fans out there buy all of these also!

A slight correction. It's the first episode with Beverlee McKinsey as Alexandra Spaulding and from 1984. Reva had been in town about a year before this episode aired. She's there and having fun with Vanessa and it's awesome. This free episode is spectacular!

I too order mine Friday when I got email alert and should be here by Thursday or Friday. The first set of DVD is wonderful, myself and soap friends had a martini night as we did with ATWT. The online episode is perfect to show how wonderful when GL ...well shined. It was full of humor, JVD has funny as hell getting drunk, he will always be Ross Marler to me. How Vanessa was steaming over Billy's date Lucille Rogers and introduction was priceless.

Billy: this is Vanessa Chamberlin, Vanessa this is Lucille Rogers
Lucille: awn-shawn-tay Miss Chambermaid
Vanessa: I'm sure Miss Codgers
Henry & HB arguing over Billy & Vanessa, Reva sticking her nose into everyone's business and Vanessa & Reva tag teaming "Lucy". Lets not forget the glamorous BM's Alexandra setting the stage on how The Baroness will be slivering around watching Alan. When Alan outside with Bradley Raines and Alex in perfect pitch "OH, Alan what a tangled web we weave" getting the goods on Alan already, and dancing with Ross, he stating he hated Alan. Watching Philip propose to Beth, Lujack calling Beth princess and always referred to Philip as the "preppy" and Alex smiling and keeping an eye on the "golden boy" just warm the cockles of my heart
