It would explain her misplaced devotion for Johnny. I'm not in shock on this thinking. But if you think about it, Johnny could still be her Brother. It's sad, but incest sadly, happens. Sick men do sick things. Frank Valentini and Ron Carlivati could pull this off. It would help explain, why Claudia was crazy, her father's treatment of her, and Johnny's insanity. Brandon Barash is such an amazing actor, he plays Johnny so well. My opinion, Johnny is torned, and he misses Claudia, but he accepts that she was being hurtful. I believe him for not blaming Michael for her death, but he sees Sonny pushing her over the edge.

I thought Claudia may have been Johnny's mother, or something other than a sister. She was overly close to him. I wonder how Johnny will digest all this. It is beliavable storyline as the main message is Claudia had Johnny at a young age. The interesting part will be who the father is or was. I for one, am interested to see how this plays out.

Why is everyone so up in arms? People suspended reality when Genie Francis was Gregg Vauggn's monther and she is 11 years older than him. Lisa Locicero is only 9 years older than Domninic Zamprogna. Neither actress looks old enough to play mom to this men.

Farah Fath is 12 years older than Austin Williams. Thorsten Kaye played father to James Scott 13 years his junior. The list goes on and on.

This is actually a decent storyline and Claudia has been gone long enough that I don't think her age actually matters. It would be one thing if she were still on the canvas but she isn't.

I understand the point you are trying to make, but in my opinion, Genie Francis LOOKS old enough to be Greg Vaughan's mother and Tyler Christopher's mother. And I also think that Lisa LoCicero, while she looks great, also looks matronly enough to be Dominic Z's mother on the show, so it doesn't look out of place for me at all.

Sarah Brown looks like she's around the same age as Brandon B. She doesn't look like she's old enough to be his mother onscreen. For me, it's right along the lines of (Julie Berman's) Lulu being revealed to be Chad Duell's (Michael's) mother on the show. Or Kelly Monaco being declared Steve Burton's mother on the show.

I guess you and I simply have a different perspective on this.

You wonder if this storyline is showing that the writers are disgusted, exhausted or burnt out. It's shocking, I'll say that. I was really grossed out at first, until I realized that even GH wouldn't push the envelope so far as to make Anthony the father of both Claudia and Johnny.

I'm just guessing that Anthony's biggest reason for covering this mess up is because he wanted a Son; one that Maria couldn't give him because Anthony really killed her before Johnny was born.

Part of me does agree however, that this story would have more impact if Johnny's father was still alive (many fans are assuming that Trevor is the father).

It's gonna be interesting.

How much more disgusting can they get? Claudia stated on more than one occasion that when she was a young teenager she took care of a 5 or 6 year old Johnny after Anthony killed his mother. That would make her about 7-10 years older than Johnny. So Claudia was raped and had a child when she was 7 to 10 years old?

Because, "believable" or not, the actors ages were not established as canon; it's the characters ages that we should most be concerned about. If fans are going to get up in arms over this because the real life ages of the actors or actresses and/or how they "look," then we might as well throw the entire history of acting, the stage, theater and movies out the window (for example, Angela Lansbury was 3 years older than Laurence Harvey, who played her son, in The Manchurian Candidate).

If fans are going to get into an uproar over this story line twist, well, let's throw out the history of unbelievable, preposterous, out of left field twists and stories of all soaps, too. I'm neither defending nor condemning this particular one, but it's far more credible than, say, a little girl befriending a muscle stud space alien from Lumina or a megalomaniac intent on freezing the world.

The saddest part: this doesn't even crack the top ten stupidest plots in the last year. Remember this is the show that had cops turning over bomb control to mobsters. This is the show that used an HIV tainted syringe as a weapon. This is the show that has Tracy Q being a passive victim of a serial killer. This is the show that had Lucky sitting at a grave for three weeks. I could go on and on and on...

This has happened throughout soap opera history. On Days of our lives when Frances Reid was Alice Horton, her daughter Addie was played by Patricia Barry. They were 6 years apart in life. John Ingle played Mickey Horton Alices midle son, with 14 years between them. Ages of actors and their characters have seldomly been an issue. Wesley Eure portrayed Michael Horton in the 1970s and was born in 1951. His bio dad was last played by John Martin is a whopping 1 month and 27 days older than Wesley Eure. Even if we desoras both characters, Michael's last portrayor Roark Critchlow, was born in 1963 making Bill a whopping 12 years older than Michael and 20 years younger than his slightly older brother Mickey. So the rediculousness of age on soaps has a long long history, and at this point, pretty useless in trying to complain about it. As a for instance EJ Dimera
was born in 1997 two years after Will Horton was born. EJ is a full grown man in this thirties played by James Scott 32, while poor Will has only been soras'd 5 years in his life is played by 21 y/o Chandler Massey. Now days they are potentially an intergenerational couple. Yet one time Will was a todler as EJ made his way into the world, 14 years ago.

I really don't have a problem with this in regards to actors' ages or whatever. That's just soaps; they do ridiculous things with ages. I have a problem with the story because... WHY? Why bring this up now, when Claudia is long dead? And how, exactly, is this blackmail material for JOHNNY?

I agree with the posters saying that this is not more stupid that many other storylines of GH lately or any SORASed character.

We accept (?) that Micheal fall into a coma being 12 and wakes up a year later looking 18 years old. We accept dead people coming back to life. How is Claudia being pregant at 5 less plausible than dead people resurrected, people shot in the brain waking up perfectly well a year later, brain surgery on patients that do not even get their heads shaved, kidney transplants performed in 4 hours without any real tests, people travelling back and forth to the end of the worls in a plit second?

I see one positive there. It will FINALLY give a real story to Johnny/Brandon Barash which is not limited to being SOnny's scapegoat for everything that goes wrong on our planet. I will be really interested to see how Johnny will react and what happened to Claudia (too bad that SJB cannot be brought back as I love the actress). I just love Johnny and to the 2 posters saying that Johnny should be killed, I will answer that I have many many male characters of GH that I would love to see out of GH first such as Sonny or his beloved Mini-Me Dante. And I know I am not the only one as I have seen it on many boards but if TPTB gets rid of the hottest and one of the most interesting and complex male character of GH, I am done for good with this show.

That's why I am happy of this stupid/dumb/pathetic change of history as long as Johnny gets more screentime.

Finally I never thought that I could be intrigued by Carly and Johnny but gosh, they are soooooo much hotter than the boredom that Carly and Shawn are and at least Johnny never tried to kill Sam or Brenda like Shawn did... Never bought the whitewashing of Shawn the mercenary. Johnny is a mobster and a criminal but at least he never sees himself better than he really is and he is not giving lectures to anyone who would be stupid enough to stop minutes to listen like Shawn or Dante do.

We should be more concerned with one of the most insulting stories in the history of this genre: the disgustingly sexist and vile story of Sam being raped by one serial killer while being married to another.

And the fact that they are playing this out as some sort of heroic love story for Jason even makes it sicker. We see him shed tears and show emotion for Sam. That's all good but how many tears has he shed for the lives of the people he has killed himself? If it didn't insult me as a lover of strong women and a lover of this genre, it would just insult me because it's all so unbelievably stupid.

No female character has survived the misogynistic ways of the power that be at GH/ABC.

I heard they're doing this to connect with Sam/Alexis who's the daddy store, the intention is that Sam and Johnny are half siblings, again this is just what I heard, so I'm not sure if this will actually play out onscreen, how would guys feel about Sam and John being brother and sister?

Ya'll are crazy! This could be a terrific story w/fallout in every direction. This is a truly soapy story! The only thing that would make it awful would be if Anthony is the father. It's one thing for a character to be a product of rape . . .but incest? I think that would totally turn off fans. As far as the age thing, I think Sara's been off the show long enough for it not to be a big deal. We're asked to suspend belief when it comes to ages of actors/characters every time a child is sorased anyway. This is nothing new.

You know what frustrates me about GH fans? They are HYPERCRITICAL! This story hasn't even begun and it's being totally trashed. I prefer the good ol' days, back before/the internet and all these message boards, when writers were allowed to have a vision and complete a thought before the townsfolk picked up their torches and pitchforks and decided to
burn the whole thing down.

GH4ever, read the above posts, you will see that not all the GH fans disagree with you. Personnally I think it will always be better and more interesting than the Shawn/Lante/Skate/Ewen-Cassandra/Crazy Michael/Idiotic Jason crap we are fed every day
