The Talk's Sheryl Underwood to Guest on The Young and the Restless
By Jillian Bowe on January 04, 2012

Fans of The Talk get ready for a double dose of co-host Sheryl Underwood next month. The funny gal was surprised on the talk show yesterday by The Young and the Restless' Christian LeBlanc when he stopped by to give her a special gift, a guest spot on the sudser! Underwood, who is a huge fan of the soap, will star as a Justice of the Peace on Feb.10. Watch it all unfold after the jump!

Oh please! She is one of the most obnoxious people I have ever seen on TV; I will be FFing those scenes for sure!! When is Y&R going to give up on the stupid stunt casting and write decent stories for the actual characters on the show?!?
I'm a fan too...does that mean I'll get tapped to be on the show as a hooker grandma?

This is the equivelant of airing CHEW and REVOLUTION commercials on Soapnot.
I, for one, never miss Y&R. I'll skip this. No offense to this woman, whoever she is. It's OFFENSIVE to SOAP FANS (in this case, GL, which I DIDN'T EVEN WATCH) to shove this down our throats.
We don't want it.

What got my attention isn't that she is appearing on Y&R but who was Chenbot speaking to when she said "oh you can't have Champagne, we need to get you sparkling cider" not exact wording but does someone on the show don't drink or recovering alcoholic?

Are U sure about the GUM part? She even shows more GUM than MAB does and she is horrible to look at. I was wondering if they had to pay her double for being so damn big? Y and R is really scraping the bottom of the barrel in my humble opinion. She is just disgusting to look at.

@Everyone: Maria thinks she is reaching out to the black people. You know! And we are just ungrateful for all she is doing to try and bring more diversity to a mess of a show called Y&R. Next she will have Monique guest as a judge saying: "Hey Baby! YES! YES! YES! YES! WHOOOO! I hold you in contempt!"

She was talking to Sara Gilbert, who only eats healthy foods, so she doesn't drink. She's a full on vegan.
As an ABC soap fan, I have to warn those of you who are rejecting this type of stunt-casting, keep in mind they are trying to draw viewers to Y&R who might not otherwise watch. They are trying to HELP the soap. When ABC did these kinds of things (as well as their "Shop The Soaps" and Campbell's Soup cross-promotion for February Heart-Healthy Month), they were trying to find ways to bring viewers and revenues to the soaps, but we (and I include myself) ridiculed the network at every turn. Now, looking back, I realize they were actually trying to make the soaps profitable. We rejected every attempt they made, and now we'll be recording ten hours less a week than we did a year ago.
If you think it can't happen at CBS because Y&R and B&B are doing well overseas, did kid yourselves. No soaps are safe in this economic climate. Don't automatically reject what they're trying to do to draw new eyes to your stories.
A little perspective from a sad ABC viewer.

I am a big Sheryl Underwood fan! She's witty, funny and intelligent and from the FEW times that I have caught glimpses of her on "The Talk," she's made me laugh!! The only negative that I can find about her is the fact that she's a Republican......
I don't blame her for Maria Bell's attention deficit disorder-style stunt casting! Clearly, she hires people and forgets that she's already got three dozen other people sitting in the wings that she's paying big money for and they're not being used!! Hello, Tracey Bregman! Hello again, Tonya Lee Williams!!!
