Patrick reminds Robin that her HIV status is manageable. She says she needs to explore all options. Patrick doesn’t want anything to come between them anymore. He offers to take her to the airport. Robin turns him down, but promises to call when she lands in Nairobi. After Patrick leaves, Robin calls to confirm her flight to Seattle.
Olivia and Kate discuss Sonny and Carly’s outbursts. Kate blames Carly for pretending Jax was dead, but Olivia says they provoke each other and that Sonny did sabotage the plane. Now Michael has to put up with the pain and loss. Kate asks about Steve and Olivia explains about the near pregnancy and Steve’s reaction.
Kate questions whether Olivia’s birth control method and points out that Olivia put her life on hold to raise Dante, but now he’s an adult and she needs to be happy. Olivia assures her that she has no interest in Sonny or his life.
Sonny stops by Michael’s to help him dispose of Abby’s things. Michael’s tired of doing things the right way. Sonny says he still has his job at the warehouse and not to go after the guy who’s hurting women because Michael not a killer. Michael asks if he would have gone after Jax if he’d known he was alive. Jax listens at the door.
Michael is tired of Sonny preaching to him, it’s his life and if Sonny doesn’t give him what he wants, Michael will take it. Sonny says he never wanted Michael in his business.
Jason’s going to see Michael and Sam wants to go with him. She hides the pregnancy test under the bed. When they get to Michael’s, he doesn’t want anything to do with Jason and tells Sonny that Jason knew Jax was alive. Jason explains that he only found out in Hawaii. Sam reminds Michael that they were dealing with other stuff at that time.
Michael tells Jason to make Sonny let him in the business, but when Jason refuses. Michael orders him to leave. Sonny tells him to get a hold of himself. Sonny says his life is not for Michael, it will make him dead inside. Michael feels his father never believed in him, he’s lying to Michael’s face and to stop trying to manage him. Michael tells Sonny to leave. Jax follows Sonny.
Steve finds Maggie lying on the gurney, watching the ceiling and wants him to join her. Johnny shows up wanting to speak to Steven, so Maggie leaves them. Johnny warns that he knows what happened in Memphis and tells Steve that he’ll be asking for a reference.
Maggie finds Steve on the gurney and joins him. The two “see” Memphis in the ceiling. Maggie admits that she wishes things had turned out differently
Sonny meets Kate and tells her about Michael and that he can’t protect him. Kate reminds him Michael is an adult and will listen when ready. Kate asks for a home cooked meal and Sonny agrees, so long as she doesn’t bail on him.
Jason’s worried about Michael, he doesn’t know how to help him. Sam reminds him that Michael’s anger will lessen as time goes on. Sam feels Carly did the right thing in keeping Jax’s secret.
Johnny stops by Michael’s. Michael says they have a lot to talk about.

How many shades of stupid is Kate??? Blaming everything on Carly and only seeing Sonny through those blood splattered.... Oops... I mean, rose colored glasses. As if the dumb witch didn't get shot on her and Sonny's wedding day and then get skid marks on her back when Sonny ran over her to marry Claudia for the power. Please get this character off my tv screen. Olivia and Kate talking birth control? Barf worthy.
The gurney thing was cute yesterday with the other characters, but today it is played out. Lisa the second, oops... I mean, Maggie interests me about as much as watching paint dry. Same with the LIW who can't talk.
I think the only thing I really liked about this episode was the shocked look on Sonny's face when Michael blurted out that Jason knew about Jax being alive. Hahhahahaaa.... take that Mini-Don!
Poor Johnny. Michael calling him can only mean Johnny's going to have Sonny threatening him YET again and us having to see it for the millionth time. Michael had some good episodes the other week with Sam, and now he's back to not being tolerable again.

Hey, mip, why so witchy? Turn off your tv if you don't love everything you see on GH. Your attitude and your flower are both 'fugly'.

Crass Connie/nuKate talks with her mouth full and chews like a cow. This actress in no way holds a candle to Megan Ward and is not believable as a couture fashion magazine publisher. I wasn't much of a MW/Kate fan but she was definitely a hundred times better than the actress playing her now!
Since Jax is lurking around the corner from Michael's apartment watching everyone come and go, maybe he can talk some sense into him. Michael meeting with Johnny can only mean trouble.
Robin lied to Jason! Jason kept his word (by default) but he did have his check up while Robin has continued to lie to Patrick right to his face!!
I thought Sam looked gorgeous today in that beautiful gray cowl neck sweater. Even her leather coat was brown instead of black for a change.

@jmnfnt: I find your comment FUgly, Mipeony said nothing to deserve that at all. Infact... she was right in my opinion. I am not a Carly fan, but she did the right thing by keeping mum about Jax. I am soooo over NuKate, she sucks and that all of those people are dumping on Carly is outrageous.
As for Michael.. I am sooooooooooooooo hoping they kill him off, spoiled little insignificant nutjob. Jason was sworn to secrecy and knew when Sonny found out, all hell would break loose. Michael may be grieving, but if he would have kept his punk A$$ at ELQ, Abby may still be alive. No one was threatening her so I don't see the point of having her shipped off for her safety. He acted just like his father and again... a death resulted. ALTHOUGH I think it wasn't quite the accident they are writing.
All in all, the show sucks. After watching an episode of OLTL it is a challenge to sit thru an entire one of GH. I can't wait for RC and FV to hit the scene.. I don't think they can turn this crap around all that much but at least it will be worth watching.
Also, quit with the Greys Anatomy stuff... it is ridiculous.
Thanks for the recap!

I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that Carly is to blame for JAx' disapearing. If she had helped him than that would be different.
I really wished that when the brought Kate back that even though she was trying to save Sonny yet again, that she would still maitain some intelligence and hopefully be Sonny's conscience.
Even after everything, Sonny would still go after JAx if/when he returns.

mipeony - You have an excellent post (per usual.) I don't understand that baseless response from that poster. Oh well.
I just don't understand anything that happens on GH. I am being completely serious. Nothing makes sense. There's no rhyme or reason. Last night, I tried to catch a few minutes on Soapnet and was utterly confused by Steve lying on a gurney by the nurses' station just looking contemplative. Is that the proper place to lie and think? Then some toothy blonde started blabbering. I turned the television off. Seriously. It's been this way for months now. I can't even get through one minute, the show is that bad. It's not even good drama.

RC and FV cannot get here soon enough. I just want GH watchable enough before it goes off the air. It would be a travesty if the former #1 soap left the airwaves this way.

I enjoy these recaps and find the ability to express my own opinions without fear of being maligned is what makes this website enjoyable. Thanks Perkie for all you put into these columns.
PS: Did I miss the episode of GH that explained who Lucky "saw" at the cemetary or was that truly Jackson's last scene?

Dayum then I must be fugly too because I completely agree with everything Mipeony wrote.
This is beyond dumb why Carly is to blame for Jax pretending to be dead. And my love of all things Alexis came to a screaching halt...is this for real when does the sainted Carly get "Liz" treatment.
The one thing I was happy about is that Carly never backed down never once thought this was her fault and I loved LW for playing Carly as that fierce person.
This person impersonating Kate needs to STFU about Carly and her being a mother because while kept her kids close to Sonny she is a mother-bear and there is no denying she loves them.
Mikey Mikey Mikey - really so much hate for Jason. I mean Sam explained everything that happened to her and yet you can't see past your own pain. Why am I not shocked.
I agree with Sassy about Sam's outfit. I want that grey sweater. I loved her in those nude heels it was so nice to see her in a dress even if it was black.
Can we just put the gurney to rest...one day cute the next day dumb
Lady in White story just took a turn for the boring. I did not feel a spark at all between her and Ethan.

Good God an out & out attack Newsflash mipeony someone's got a bug up their bum....personally I don't give a flying flip (nor a rats' ass) if I'm named called (or my av is ugly) if I want to watch & call them out on their crappy storytelling and inconsistencies; I will ... And while I'm riled GH is beginning to look cheap.

Thursday...New Years' Eve in PC is over...anything "new"?...not likely...
How many times has the bully sr. said this: "I don't want you in this life."? How many times have we heard the bully jr. whine: "How I decide to live my life is up to me.." The only differences this time around was the volume he delivered with and the (I couldn't help myself), laugh inducing ultimatum he threw out. "...give me what I want or I'll...take it..like you always do." His going off on Jason is a natural extension of his anger over Abby but when he links it to Jax (who's actions he rejected as a result of the custody battle over Josslyn), it's convoluted and makes no sense. Gone is the hurt kid who can relate to Sam and what she's going through. He's been replaced with a raging punk who doesn't know how or where to channel said rage. Because he's never had to to. I don't have a lot of sympathy for him...
We know that the bully sr. will still go after Josslyns' father. "...the
business between me and Jax...will not touch you, your brother, or your sister." How stupid a statement is that? It already has. Duh!...
It's just lovely to see Jax wander across my screen...
Help me out here. Are they going to get back to Sam and what she's dealing with (as obnoxious as it is)? No offense to the SBu/Jason fans, but I'm tired of the focus on what he's "going through" and how she has to support him with all this "I wasn't there to protect Michael" schtick. What about being there for your wife?...
I liked Sam's little "shout out" to Carly: "...She actually did the right thing for once." I'm sure KM thought she'd have more "meaty" material to play besides all the "Michael will forgive you." stuff...
I'm glad Olivia didn't stick around after the initial verbal barrage that opened the New Years' Eve shout fest. I take issue with Kate's briefly needling her about her past relationship with John. Excuse me, Miss High and Mighty Crimson. How is your cavorting with the bully any different?
(Maybe it's better that MW isn't here to reprise the role.) The less said about their "birds and the bees" talk the better. I'd say Liv's "over" the bully to a certain extent, but maybe not John and with her finding Steve on the gurney with Maggie we're being sent neon outlined signals about a coming quad. Does any one care?...
How many gurneys will we be seeing in the GH hallways?...
KK's eyes looked incredibly blue. Colored contacts? Anyway, whatever Steve did that Maggie helped cover up wasn't enough to stop her from wishing
"...things could have turned out differently." Maybe bringing John into this story will help her get her wish...
It's a credit to BrBa that he's made John likable (even lovable) at times.
Today he did the opposite and made me me not like him with his veiled threats and taunting delivery. As close as he and Olivia were, it's typical GW/recycled Guza that the criminal element will probably win out at
the expense of the "good" characters. It's that bottomless pit of "mob stew" that infiltrates the canvas. Sigh. I should be grateful John wasn't the one who asked for "the meeting" with the bully jr....
Even Scrubs couldn't completely escape the mob taint with Patrick telling
Robin about the accident. At least it opened up their conversation to where it veered back to her going out of town ("Were you gonna tell me where you're going?"), on her "phantom" patient/HIV conference. I really wish he'd not be so easily swayed by her deflections and really sift through her words. Although she's been really good at hiding this from him.
Watching them, I got hit with a wave of sadness. It's not just them. It's
almost all of GH. Again I sigh...
Enjoy your evening, everyone...
Swan!

I am sick of Lulu, NuKate, Michael and this show's focus on these increasingly annoying characters!
The Alexis/Carly showdown and the Tracy/Anthony scenes were this episode's ONLY saving grace! For a while, I thought that I wanted Carly and Alexis to become friends, but now I am convinced that they are better as enemies. Nancy knocked it out of the park, as usual. It's a shame that Garin Wolf doesn't know what talent he has sitting in the background as he focuses on the same tiresome people day in and day out!!
