All My Children's Denise Vasi Replaces Stacey Dash on Single Ladies!

Another ex-ABC soaper makes good! Deadline is reporting All My Children's Denise Vasi has been tapped for the lead role in VH1's sexy, fun dramedy Single Ladies. Vasi's new character Raquel will fill the void left by Val (Stacey Dash).
Considering how harsh we've been here at Daytime Confidential about Vasi's acting chops as displayed on AMC, I'm sure some of you are expecting this to begin the portion of the blog post where I start freaking out about her joining one of my guilty pleasure sudsers, but nah.
I actually think Vasi will be a good fit for the show, however I think it would be smart to center the retooled Single Ladies on LisaRae McCoy's Keisha. Single Ladies is a frothy, light-hearted serial that doesn't require the skills of an Angela Bassett or a Meryl Streep. There's no doubt Vasi is a strikingly beautiful woman and can likely hold her on with the rest of the cast, including Charity Shea as April and Travis Winfery as Omar. All I know is, whoever they replaced Dash with, I am just glad my story is coming back for a second season! Will you be tuning in to see Denise Vasi on Season 2 of VH1's Single Ladies?

It's obvious to me that they are pursuing beautiful women that are experts at the "blank stare" "no emotion" style of acting....and yeah, as a Stacy Dash fan, this is probably a like for like change. I do agree that this show should focus on LisaRaye (scary huh?)

I have no opinion about Vasi's acting since I didn't watch her on AMC when she had screen time. When I did watch AMC when Broderick took over, Vasi has been shoved to the back burner.
As for Single Ladies, I watched because of Dash. With her gone, I'm not sure if I will watch.

@josstheguy: Think of her as CK's twin only worse. Neither has the talent of guppies.
