Thank Goodness!!! BEST NEWS. Too bad it's a year too late. He should have been let go from (televised) OLTL over a year ago. Awful, awful character. A terrible actor as evidenced in the scenes in which Ford learned he was Ryder's father. Just the worst piece of acting ever. Good riddance.

Could Ford & Tess/Jess/Mess be the endgame? This could work especially since the rumormill reports that Bree will not make the jump to PP.

Best wishes to the actor, but for me he was nothing but eye-candy on OLTL. And, as in real life, all eye-candy is replaceable.

I don't really consider this good news because if he's still taping, that probably means he'll be on until the end, stealing time from characters I'd like to see more of.

I wish him luck in his future, but I won't really miss the character.

Best news I've heard all day!!! I have nothing against DG, but Ford was one of the worst things to ever happen to OLTL in recent years.

I wish OLTL wasn't spending so much time on the Ford brothers and the Rama, Vimal people in it's final weeks on the air!!!

The eye candy will be missed, but let's get focused on quality actors and better written character driven storylines! Hopefully the entire Ford family goes with him.

As for the Patel family, I am really enjoying them. They all are WAY better actors the any member of the Ford family (probably with the exception of daddy Ford) and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the diversity of having an Indian family on the show. I am also enjoying Jack a lot more with Neela in the picture. He's a little bit better of an actor than when he first started, but I see great potential with Jack and Neela. And since Jack is moving with show...here's hoping!

Someone at OLTL finallly figured it out. No matter how many times you humiliate a character by having him wear a hot dog suit while reading to small chilren, you could not make me forget what a sleazebag he was 2 short years ago when he stole Markko's girlfriend just because he could, while he screwed around with the barely legal set. Good riddance Ford. Good Luck DG.

I actually thought he was a good actor. I hope the people complaining are going to watch online. Sometimes it seems some are just going to watch until it goes off tv. I thought he added to story/show. But since BW is probably leaving that may have played part, who knows. Those two were great together so, if I were him, I would depart and try other things. As far as the move to PP, the more that go the better. Some of these headlines are not good for AMC. If enough don't move to PP, what is the point. OLTL is going because a lot of the cast is going.

Yeah! Finally! I use to love Starr and Langston's friendship and then the show dropped Langston and kept Ford. All of the Ford's should have been sent packing last year.

Speaking of Langston in the above comment, why is she still in the opening credits? She's been off since show since like May....And Dorian too? She's been gone since August. And from what I hear neither one of them are not coming back to the show. Weird OLTL

I for one will miss DAG. It's not his fault the writing for his character could give you whiplash. I'd personally watch 10 Fords rather than 1 John McBain.

Yes, the writing for Ford was okay at first when he was just a horn dog looking to score. I wanted to see an honest and viable triangle with Markko/Langston/Ford where Ford actually worked to change his ways because he fell for Langston. Ford sleeping with teenage Jessica should have not ended with him as Ryder's father. A pregnancy scare should have shaken Ford up and made him want to work hard to be with Langston.

Oh this is fun - we can think of recasts - for Jessica - Definately Erin- or what about Stephanie Gatschet (Madison, All My Children) - for Starr-?

Very handsome man, but SEE YA FORD!!!!! Dude will no doubt land on his feet. He's young and hot, I could see him on a CW show in no time.

Despite the shortcomings of his character, DG is actually a pretty good actor(and not just pretty as some suggest). And I actually started to warm to the Jessica/Ford pairing; sorry, but she's a ton more interesting with him than she ever was with Brody.

I TOTALLY agree with this! I'm tired for Rama and Vimal's sister (I kind of like Vimal), Jack, Ford and Jessica. Hopefully they'll wrap their stories up soon and focus on the vets til the end!

And I agree with everyone that David (Ford) is mostly eye candy and not much else.

I know David has his fans but his Ford was a terrible character.

1).....enjoying looking at the actor and not thinking he was bad at all. Especially when shirtless.

2)...thinking that Ford was an horrible character whos rehabilitation never worked enough to make him salvagable.

I'm with Soaphunks. David took a role from nothing and added character to it. He even made me love I character I previosly hated. When he was with Langston I compared them to David/Dorian, my favourite couple. He even got me shipping him with Jessica [one of my favourites.]
Now who will they pair with Jessica on the PP version? Let's hope they don't recast Cristian...
