Prospect Park should really consider hiring Lindsay Hartley as their PR rep. The All My Children actress tweeted Darnell Williams (Jesse) has signed on, and will also be making the jump online and to other platforms with Hartley and Cameron Mathison.

Im so happy to hear this. Sounds like LH may have seen this on that email chain Jacob Young alluded to On the Michael Fairman interview and tweeted it pretty quick.
Question is it time to do wishful casting for Angie or would you rather she leave PV for a bit?

Angie is not recastable. Put her in a coma or send her to Europe to visit that idiot daughter of hers or send her to Doctors without Borders (we know how much soaps love that excuse) until Y&R dumps Debbi Morgan. You know they will after they get tired of their new penny.

With all due respect, the role of Angie is iconic, and should NEVER be recast. For me, it would be like them recasting Erica Kane. Hope they don't go there. Actresses of Debbi's caliber can't be substituted.

Definitely agree with alstonboy on this. Angie cannot be recast. Remember when AMC tried to recast Angie in the late 80's or early 90's? It was terrible, and did not last very long. No Debbi = No Angie. Excited about Darnell!

I agree about not recasting Angie, they tried years ago with Sandra Quarterman and it was a disaster.
I say maybe bringing in Jesse's sister perhaps, we never saw any of his family, so maybe that list, appleridge, could be use to cast Jesse's family.

I just read the Debbi Morgan interview in SOW and the last question posed to her was, will you mind AMC re-casting Angie? I'm paraphrasing, but her response was HELL YES! Send her to Africa to tend patients and have Jesse visit.
I agree. AMC seems to the mainl supplier for Doctors without Borders. Take her off the canvas for a bit. I think any role can be recast, but with Y&R's track record I think Debbi will be available in a year or less. I was happy by her answer because I think that means she would entertain an offer from PP.

I would hate to see anybody recast, but I have made myself accept this possibility. Especially hearing all the comments from the actors when this all started with pp- they wanted what they wanted-- the biggest flag for me was the actors who wanted to go on re-occuring - who wanted to take a break, who wanted another deal and so on. They all deserve what they want and what they are worth, and if PP cant/wont deliver for whatever reason - recasts will insue. And we will get used to it.

I adore Jesse(DW) & I'm excited, but Jesse w/o Angie(DM) is such a foreign thought to me. I can't imagine it atm.
The show still needs a few more stalwarts - MEK, VI, SL, JL,etc. - for it to succeed in this new medium.

Appleridge, you have composed quite the list. Most of your choices are good actresses; some are even great actresses. But not only could none of them replace DM in an iconic role, many of them don't even seem like they could apply for the same role. Terri J. Vaughn and Viola Davis? Age, look, style--they're so dissimilar in these that if I wrote a role for one of them, I would never even consider the other.

According To IMDB Sandra Quarterman (Angie #2, 90-91) wasa born in 1968. VD is older than her then and everyone else on that list is older than VD.
Look I wanted established actresses that could do it. Maybe a newcomer would be better.
Look Id Perfer DM but what if she does her whole YR deal which is 2 years. they can send Angie away for a while but they cant keeep her away too long. Id rather have a great actress take on the role than have Angie do something OOC to stay away. Id rather have a new Angie than something off screen taint the memory of the character.

I am assuming Angie will be in a coma from being shot by JR. If Debbi ever wants to come back, Angie could wake!! I am happy Jesse will be part of the new show. It will great drama watching him to try and go on with life when Angie is not there.

I sure hope so. IMO, MEK is THE most important actor Prospect P needs to sign. First of all, he is a Martin--and that legacy needs to continue. Second, the Tad character is just about as iconic to AMC as Erica. Third, he is a hell of an actor. He is so wonderful. Love him. I know some would disagree--but if I had to choose between MEK & La Lucci--I'm going with MEK. Of course, it would be great if they both continued with the show. But, SL cant play Erica like an ingenue forever. It's starting to seem a little silly. At least, Tad is growing older in a more realistic way.
Thrilled that Darnell is staying! I would never recast Angie. Besides, if Y&R does to DM what they did to the fab Maura West--then she may be back.
Let Jessie help raise that young girl's (forget her name)baby. Send that girl off somewhere--and leave the baby with Jessie. Write a story about a working middle aged man trying to raise a daughter on his own. There are lots of possibilities with that s/l--comedic and dramatic.
Now, lets get Julia Barr!!!!
