OLTL’s Erika Slezak, Michael Easton, Kassie DePaiva and Ted King Sign on With Prospect Park!

Great news One Life to Live fans! Prospect Park has released a statement revealing Erika Slezak (Viki Buchanan), Kassie DePaiva (Blair Manning), Michael Easton (John McBain) and Ted King (Tomas Delgado) have agreed to remain with the series as it makes the jump online!
Pending a final agreement with AFTRA, Prospect Park has confirmed that One Life To Live cast members Ted King (Tomas Delgado), Michael Easton (John McBain), Kassie DePaiva (Blair Cramer) and star of stars Erika Slezak who plays Lord family matriarch Victoria Lord, have agreed to deals to join the company’s new production of One Life To Live. This marks the first confirmation of cast members since Prospect Park began planning for the soap production to live on the new online network beyond its finale January televised date on ABC.

This is great, but I really want to see Florencia Lozano and Robin Strasser sign as well then throw in both Todds and I'm set. Add whomever else makes sense.

I agree with SoapyBitch (I love that name!) about getting Florencia Lozano and Robin Strasser to sign as well. But this is a great start and might get other actors to sign as well, especially with Erika Slezak coming aboard.

This is great news but....I would like to first see an announcement stating that they have definitively obtained funding and who is providing the funding before getting too excited.

Hooray! But not some of the names I expected at all! I kinda thought Slezak might stick around in one way or another, and KdP, too, but I was sure Michael Easton would leave to focus on comic books. My guess is that the PP deals are probably not quite as good money-wise, but a lot better flexibility wise. Now, let's just hope Roger Howarth signs soon, too, and Jerry ver Dorn, and Florencia Lozano! And, please, NOT Trishitty!

Good god we'll never get rid of Easton. Who wants that bore on the show and the waste of a character Tomas
I am happy about Erika and KAssie but I value JVD and RW a heck of a lot more than ME or Ted King

Sorry, Appleridge, I screwed up the formatting:
Not necessarily. Companies sign deals all the time with an "out" if they are unable to obtain the needed financing.

YAY! I'm happy KDP (love her!) and ES have signed on, this is great! I actually dont hate ME, but I was not a John fan for a long time. Though I think he's become more tolerable lately. That's just me, though. And, hell, at this rate, I'm not shocked he signed, folks gotta WORK! TK... I'm not the least bit invested in Tomas, but I'm not shocked he didn't go back to GH like everyone and their mother insider kept saying. We know GH's end is near, no need in jumping from one cancelled show to another and being under Sonny's shoe, again. He's better off making a fresh start with the online show. I hope they write him a decent storyline that doesn't include lusting after Blair... that got old months ago. He's a very talented man, they just need to put him to good use. I've got everything crossed for RH (especially, dear GOD, let him sign), RS (especially two), and JVD (especially three), among a few other heavy hitters including FL (I'm not a Tea fan, but if they get RH/KDP, they're going to want TSJ/FL. Like I said, it's totally Dallas, the show practically writes itself, which is why I'm glad RC is not going to be on the writing staff. OLTL draws me in because of the characters. We need a writer who doesn't play favorites. We need a writer who caters to the history of the characters and show)... Anyway, I'm guessing if they got RH and/or TSJ, it wouldn't be announced until later.
But so far, this is GREAT news and shows that PP is really invested in the show...

would Robin Strasser come back to the show after she was treated badly by suits in charge?
i think she could go to nuAMC as Dorian like she did when she cameo'd a few years ago as Adam Chandler's friend.

This was a great first wave of contract signings. They came out with some heavy hitters right off the bat. Most everyone assumed ES and KDP would continue but TK and ME were a surprise. Nicely played Prospect Park!

Where's my Florencia? OLTL needs Tea! And, Roger Howarth, Trevor St. John, Jerry ver Dorn, Shennell Edmonds, Kristin Alderson, Robin Strasser, and the rest of the cast!! OLTL needs to get its younger cast signed up.
Seriously, OLTL could generate 5 years of story just on Victor vs. Todd. Getting St. John and Howarth on board would be great.
None of the casting news seems surprising. With the exception of Slezak, all of the other actors need jobs and OLTL is the only gig in NYC that will pay them a 6-figure wage.

Appleridge,
In Hollywood, actors sign contingency contracts all the time. They film pilots that may or may not get picked up. Studios have to pay an option fee to keep them.
Given OLTL's ratings growth, barring a horrible recession or other catastrophe, OLTL seems certain to move online.
AMC is the big if. The show needs to get a heavy hitter. If Lucci won't come back permanently, get her to sign on with frequent guest appearances.
Days of Our Lives did very well after Hogestyn and Hall were fired (of course hackery then immediately ruined that success).

Great! These actors are reason enough for me to follow the show to the Internet. I love how passionate Kassie and Erika are about their character and OLTL itself. I cannot wait to see who else is part of the canvas. I am EXCITED!

I'm ecstatic Erika Slezak and Kassie DePaiva signed on and a little shocked Ted King was even offered a deal. I love the actor but his character's been so upstaged by the return of Roger Howarth. I just don't see any long-term potential for Tomas at this point. I really hope PP makes a play for Robin Strasser and TSJ. Viki vs. Dorian and Todd 1.0 vs. Todd 2.0 would be enough to drive the series for at least another 10 years.

this is from SoapTownUSA
Insiders are saying Ron Carlivati is "not" coming to GH as a head writer. He will be starting somewhere on the writing team, and is expected to rise to a co-head writer position contingent on how well he takes to the show, and how he and Wolf get along.
Whispers are the writing team is far from solidified. GW is taking his time to assess who fits his vision and who can't get visions of Guza out of their head. A couple of writers from the exiting soaps are expected to migrate over.
I'm still hearing that Frank Valentini will not be heading to OLTL-online but rather over to GH as it's executive producer

In the mag he said he was not sure if he is going to General Hospital or staying with OLTL. I hear buzz Frank is out and wants to rest. If frank leaves I like to see Larry Carpter in charges of production share the ep dutys with someone who can handle the talent hiring and other types of things..

It's exciting to see this "first wave" of OLTL cast members, (two "core", two "supporting") taking their first steps into what, I believe, is a pioneering adventure. Is it a risk? Absolutely. I'd call it a calculated risk on their parts but without a little bit of risk, life would be boring and monotonous. From an economic standpoint, there isn't a lot in the entertainment industry that can be guaranteed. They can be the ones from a performers' aspect that "pave the way" into this new territory. Good for them. Great for Prospect Park. And we, their fans will happily join them on this same adventure. Onward!...

Yeah!
Now all I need is Tea, Victor, Todd, Natalie (no more Jolie!) and some of the teens (Matthew, Dani, Destiny, Sam and Liam).
